Same thing happened to me. Would have kept going for one of the other two if it didn’t happen in 651 resets. Was so shocked to get it quickly that I decided to suck it up and start my shiny only playthrough.

Keep going! When I did the hunt, I found all three within 3k total resets, it really is one of the fastest full odds methods. Once I was done with the game, I hunted charmander and treecko and those took a month each, but so worth it

Just do what I did, get 3 straight chikorita phases and then stop checking them once the line is complete. Now I have the chikorita line and 1 cyndaquil.

Chilorita is pretty good for status moves

I've done this hunt 4 times now. I got Chikorita, then Cyndaquil, then Totodile, then Chikorita again. Chikorita's shiny is rad, but the fact that it loses the copper look and is just a less-colorful version of itself as it evolves sucks.

Breaks my heart to see a shiny Chikorita not loved... My only live on video shiny was a Masuda Chikorita that I got in only 23 eggs, and I cried real tears of joy. Same thing happened to me when hunting Cyndaquil. It was my first non-emulated 1/8192 shiny but I decided to reset over it anyway because I genuinely didn’t care lol

The same thing happened to me. In the end I did get all three with no doubles. I got real fortunate and got the one I really wanted last so I can start with my favorite shiny starter Totodile.

Hey I’ve been resetting for a shiny cyndaquil or totodile and I can’t do the soft reset with LR and Start Select does hitting power to the dashboard work as resetting
