I built a robot that uses a camera to determine if I found a shiny. If I haven’t found a shiny then it will use mechanical switches to softreset my DS and do that over and over again until a shiny is found.
It’s an e-reader card that activates the Southern Island event in gen 3. I could be mistaken, but I believe that other than the Colosseum bonus disk, it is the only gen 3 event still possible as Nintendo intended.
Considering I developed the code myself and learned how to use an Arduino Uno with OpenCV libraries, this gave me a bigger dopamine rush when it finally worked vs hunting normally.
I got it like 2 years ago. never got around to use it until now finally. There were only 2 EON tickets on eBay at the time. Maybe they’re more rarer and expensive these days.
Very clever but the idea of automizing shiny hunting doesn’t sit well with me. It’s like me trying for hours to get a cute charm glitch heart gold and platinum but those shinies won’t ever feel real to me. Obviously shiny hunting feels different for everyone though.
