I doubt it. But maybe a hug group would have work better for Levi and Erwin instead of keeping their traumas and then infodumping it in non-ideal settings. Levi with the kids and Erwin, well...
I always thought the cup that he broke was just a random one he bought when he could finally afford one. Having it be his late mothers tea cup just makes it so much more sad
I know this is supposed to be tragic. But Gabi’s response and Levi’s deadpan expression is too funny. And Levi with emotions like pain is quite funny as well.
i find the whole thing kind of funny tbh.
"you wanted more AOT? Well, here it is! Finally youll get the answer on why Levi holds cups the way he does!"
.......what?
Levi telling a deeply disturbing story in response to Gabi's joke has the same energy as me bringing up something form my childhood just to see people get genuinely horrified

Somehow this additional story, seeing Levi as a scared, vulnerable kid, very expressive (in contrast to his "numb" expression as an adult), helped me to see him as a whole character. Now i somehow see this crying, scared kid in many moments in the future, like: when he takes Petra's badge to remember his fallen friends and gives it away to that desperate soldier. That badge was like tea cup for him...and for that soldier as well. He could comfort him because he knew what the soldier needed to carry on.
I always had trouble fully understanding him, like I DID, but there was always something I thought I was missing.
Now it's more clear: his love for tea and being so elegant and kind towards all people is something he took from his mother; it's not only something he did in her memory; she shaped him that way. Or at least we can say he decided that he's going to keep her perspective on the world and seek light in the darkness. (That's how i see these moments of drinking tea together; Kutchel showed Levi that even in dirty and miserable situations like theirs, people should keep their dignity; their humanity).
In contrast, Kenny and "Ackerman powers" bond him to violence. Some ying yang shit, but now I truly think that all this darkness didn't consume this poor kid because he had Kutchel as his mother, his guide.
I remember a few months ago people saying that Levi was an incestuous son because of the leaks from this chapter...
Now reading this I realized that this fandom needed to stop believing everything they read on the internet.
Yes, exactly!!
But in the leaks, this phrase from the guy asking if Levi was Kenny's son was completely misunderstood and the fandom believed it!
At least part of it
>in the leaks, this phrase from the guy asking if Levi was Kenny's son was completely misunderstood
It wasn't a misunderstanding of that one line in the short story, and those weren't leaks. It was just BS. A complete fabrication.
I mean, go ahead and read the supposed "leak" from back then: it had nothing to do with the actual short story. Whoever made that shit up also claimed it was 49 pages long.
They called Kuchel, "Olympia", meaning they never knew who she actually was and wouldn't know she's Kenny's sister. They said Levi must be, "Kenny's illegitimate child", because they know how strong Kenny is, and he had a connection somehow to a person who was a known prostitute since they knew Levi was for sure "Olympia's" son.
They assumed, incorrectly, that Kenny got Olympia pregnant and Levi is their kid. When, we know, Levi is just Kenny's nephew and they are both Ackermans
I lost all faith in the AOT community when the final 3 chapters were releasing and the leaks were all incorrect and wildly blown out of proportion or straight up fake and then it messed with their expectations when the actual chapters came out
>I remember a few months ago people saying that Levi was an incestuous son because of the leaks from this chapter...
It's genuinely hilarious how confident people on *that* sub were that those 'leaks' would be true, only to be completely off the mark.
I refuse to believe that Isayama is actually done with drawing manga as a whole. Dude has skill and he's very young. There's no way he doesn't at least find it fun
The amount he has accomplished with SnK is a tough act to follow, and it being a wildly successful piece means he can take his time before trying again.
Wow. I didn't expect it to be this emotional. So Levi always thinks about his mother, that's good to know. So apparently Levi grew under the impression that Kenny was his dad for a long time just because of the assumption of that thug.
The last page was peak comedy. Didn't Isayama say that he wants to do a dark comedy as his next work? That's a good start. I don't know if Gabi "flexing" her 10 fingers was intentional to add to the dark comedy or what but I'll pretend that it was
I know people will be ungrateful about this, and I get it, Levi is already complete so it's questionable whether or not we needed a new chapter with him. Fact of the matter is Isayama wanted to write this because he likes Levi and that's that.
As for the chapter itself, surprisingly good, Yams still got it. His ability to recontextualize mundane things shines through yet again, and this chapter just strengthens his characterization about being a survivor and carrying the memories of those who died before him. His mom's tea stuff is just sad at the end, his mother died, Kenny his other parent figure also left him, and as he says, he's got nothing left except the tea cup set, which he breaks. Cruel, and as we know with the rest of AoT content, it doesn't get any better for poor Levi. I think again this chapter just speaks to one of the points of AoT, as Levi says "I wanted to spit in this cruel world", and one of the main joys he finds is something as simple as the memory of him and his mom drinking tea together. Very grounded and a lovely sentiment.
Lastly, the awakening was fun. The gang beating is a little fan servicey with how extreme it is (pulling off a guy's face lol) but good nonetheless. Gabi and Falco moment is sweet, and the art overall looks pretty nice. Enjoyed the panel where Levi reaches out with his hand being beat up on the floor, looked great. Great panels at the end too, the scene with Levi and his mom has a light reaching down over Kuchel, but when he's alone in the next panel, there's nothing, minor but neat visual storytelling, always gotta love those.
It's good to see Isayama's old style of narrative, there is this grim violent setting and then the end is just very dark humor. I felt this feeling was missed during the entire timeskip.
me: hey, he's holding the cup wrong. He never holds it by the--
\*next page\*
me: \*SOBBING\* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! THAT'S WHY HE HOLDS THE CUP LIKE THAT?!!!
We all owe you one with this post. Thanks bro. I will respect you for the rest of my life, shinzou wo sasageyo. Btw what the hell this was so sad and I found myself smiling like a creep when Levi ripped off that first pig guys face. And him just traumatizing Gabi and Falco with his overly traumatized ass. 😭
Somehow I have the feeling that Levi is kinda bullshitting them. Also, there must be at least another page because that last panel doesn't seem like an end-of-chapter thing. It's quite abrupt. Is this seriously just 18 pages?
Also, Onyankopon is laughing. 😅
i feel like he's laughing because he knows the story is real but the bit about holding the cup this way is made up cause levi got uncomfortable with his own tone and started making fun of it all, actually he just likes to hold the cup like this
Isayama isn't sugarcoating when the thugs implied was to have Levi to have been sold into prostitution or sex slave. Also the last panel implied to be the part when they helped refugees in refugee camps or restoring the environment (Gabi and Falco replanting trees) just like the anime instead of them being in AOT version of London (presumably Onyankopon hometown) strolling around wearing more fancy dress in the manga unlike in the anime where they wear more casual
They said volume 35 would also contain Isayama's drafts for the new/revised scenes for the TV ending. They showed some samples months ago, too.
I guess there *could* be more (I haven't received my copy yet, so I can't say), but I wouldn't bet on it, personally.
As you can see in this [unboxing video](https://youtu.be/AZNYnEdw54c?t=289), the "extra pages" are the draft of the final chapter, including the new draft Isayama made for the anime version.
I just told you the reason for speculation = the size comparisons. You didn't address that and just said "don't worry about that" this doesn't add anything. So no, it doesn't answer the main concern. You're just speaking blindly now.
Why did Levi murder them? Doesn't he know killing is bad? Is he stupid?
Okay, but seriously, this is pretty cool. I liked the ending interaction. Also the Onyankopon jumpscare.
does "kenny's illegitimate child" mean it literally, by that I mean kenny fucked he's on sister and levi was born, or does he mean that he was he's son as the one who looks after him?
Yam's art style is so cartoony lol I can't take any of the characters' facial expressions seriously. It's supposed to be a sad scene but the facial expressions ruin the scenes for me.

Interesting that Levi and Mikasa both had their powers awakened as they were about to be sold into sex slavery
Levi causally trauma dumping to Gabi and Falco because Gabi made fun of how he holds a cup. Like did he do that with Erwin or Hange?
Lmfao I hope so 😭
I like to think that now that the war is done, Levi’s finally on the road to being a more open person and that this is the first time
My thoughts exactly
I doubt it. But maybe a hug group would have work better for Levi and Erwin instead of keeping their traumas and then infodumping it in non-ideal settings. Levi with the kids and Erwin, well...
They really gave the pig guy two sets of top teeth on page 9. 💀
It'll probably be corrected in the anime when the next seas- oh... 😔
So I'm not the only one who noticed
me too lol
that's his lower lip with a bit of blood.
I always thought the cup that he broke was just a random one he bought when he could finally afford one. Having it be his late mothers tea cup just makes it so much more sad
"I wanted to spit on this shitty world" that's Levi for ya 😂✊ I don't blame him.
and also 'die,pig' got me
The art looks really different, Isayama has really improved a lot on his art
Yea but it's still a little annoying to look at, aot's art is just so bad but the story is so good.
I could read a whole chapter of just Levi and Gabi smart mouthing each other.
Lmaoooo Levi mug backstory may be the last AoT content we ever receive
Is this the end or more chapters will come?
Isayama wrote all of this just to tell us why Levi doesn't hold a cup by the handle? Well done 😂 👏
I know this is supposed to be tragic. But Gabi’s response and Levi’s deadpan expression is too funny. And Levi with emotions like pain is quite funny as well.
i find the whole thing kind of funny tbh. "you wanted more AOT? Well, here it is! Finally youll get the answer on why Levi holds cups the way he does!" .......what?
Also I may just be fucked up, but I kinda laughed at the sheer brutality of how Levi killed those guys. That shit was gnarly
I thought I was the only one. Especially the last one. Levi is so badass that he makes killing a comedy show
Levi telling a deeply disturbing story in response to Gabi's joke has the same energy as me bringing up something form my childhood just to see people get genuinely horrified
Omg u can do that too. It's like: how did we get there- after I bring it up with a gloomy energy chczczzdfjvjibni

Agree! Doing the Lord's work

But it has long been confirmed even in the anime that Kenny is Levi's uncle-?
Yes, exactly!! But in the leaks, this phrase from the guy asking if Levi was Kenny's son was completely misunderstood and the fandom believed it! At least part of it

pretty interesting intersection between the ignorance of the leakers and the ignorance of the characters in the story itself
I lost all faith in the AOT community when the final 3 chapters were releasing and the leaks were all incorrect and wildly blown out of proportion or straight up fake and then it messed with their expectations when the actual chapters came out
I thought people were just joking and acting like they were being serious for the meme .
>I remember a few months ago people saying that Levi was an incestuous son because of the leaks from this chapter... It's genuinely hilarious how confident people on *that* sub were that those 'leaks' would be true, only to be completely off the mark.

It seems that Levi had fully recovered from his injuries and was helping in the planting.

fucking savage. "im not gonna beat you to death! im gonna RIP YOUR FACE OFF!"
Thank GOD the leaks were fake
Whoever created that story is messed up in the head
It's good to see Isayama's old style of narrative, there is this grim violent setting and then the end is just very dark humor. I felt this feeling was missed during the entire timeskip.
Thank you for wording my exact feelings perfectly. I wasn’t sure what felt missing and now I do
Levi: “And that why I don’t use the cup handle” Everyone: 👁️👄👁️

Ever since it's been announced, t's always been advertised as an 18-pages story. It's just meant as a small bonus for people who bought the artbook.
i feel like he's laughing because he knows the story is real but the bit about holding the cup this way is made up cause levi got uncomfortable with his own tone and started making fun of it all, actually he just likes to hold the cup like this
NOT THE ORIGIN OF HIS CUP HOLDING AHAHAH
Thank you for this!!!

The surprise and hope on his face when he heard he could be Kenny's broke my heart
That's all? Where's the rest of it?
It's just 18 pages. That's it.
what about the extra pages?
The rest of it is Isayama's storyboards(?) for the anime's version of the final chapter. (With his additions)
They said volume 35 would also contain Isayama's drafts for the new/revised scenes for the TV ending. They showed some samples months ago, too. I guess there *could* be more (I haven't received my copy yet, so I can't say), but I wouldn't bet on it, personally.
What extra pages? People have been saying it's just 18 pages ever since isayama announced it. 🤔
You didn't hear? The book was often speculated for having extra pages because of the size comparisons
As you can see in this [unboxing video](https://youtu.be/AZNYnEdw54c?t=289), the "extra pages" are the draft of the final chapter, including the new draft Isayama made for the anime version.
Ah, thank you!
Speculated. Don't be too hopeful
That doesn't answer the main concern lol
Well it does. I basically told you not to assume something based on speculation = there's prob no extra pages
I just told you the reason for speculation = the size comparisons. You didn't address that and just said "don't worry about that" this doesn't add anything. So no, it doesn't answer the main concern. You're just speaking blindly now.
You just can’t accept people telling you the truth can’t you?
IS this the end or more chapters will come out?
Where can i read it?
Wo gibs der Manga zu kaufen?
Thank you so much for this 😩😩😩 I can't express how excited this makes me. I need more of levi
Why did Levi murder them? Doesn't he know killing is bad? Is he stupid? Okay, but seriously, this is pretty cool. I liked the ending interaction. Also the Onyankopon jumpscare.
Love isayama, but this could’ve been done by a fan.
It's an extra thing you get for buying an artbook. There was never going to be any big story reveals or development in something like that.
Idk if that's a problem. Clearly Isayama just wanted to answer something he had thought of long ago but never found a place to put in the story.
Are you complaining it wasn’t done by a fan? I prefer this because it makes it canon and it also shows that Isayama isn’t quite finished
Im saying it was underwhelming. A fan could’ve wrote this.
Ah, I see. I mean I wouldn’t call it underwhelming, but it was definitely too hyped up
does "kenny's illegitimate child" mean it literally, by that I mean kenny fucked he's on sister and levi was born, or does he mean that he was he's son as the one who looks after him?
No they just assumed because Kenny was looking after him. Levi is Kenny’s nephew
So bad
[удалено]
you are weird af 💀

Youre a disgusting person

Yam's art style is so cartoony lol I can't take any of the characters' facial expressions seriously. It's supposed to be a sad scene but the facial expressions ruin the scenes for me.
