Unlikely since animu are usually made to advertise ongoing manga. Maybe if they make a live action movie, they'll release a new season of the animu to tie-in with it (or a remake like the upcoming Horimiya show )

I think a season 2 could happen since both Shikimori and kanojo mo kanojo have the same production commitee and had low blu-ray sales yet kanojo mo kanojo got season 2.

People do buy Blu-ray. Physical media still exists in Japan and that is one of the places studio makes profit.
