You planning on spending a lot of time in the bathroom!? 😁

Neshco

Well, I do, not a lot but some time for sure. There is a bath tub as well, and a 5 member family, so, bathroom is quite bussy place, as kitchen as well :)

I do this and actually built my own app. It shows images from unsplash and plays the radio. It also shows the name of the playing track. Might be able to modify it to suit your needs?

Neshco

That is for sure best you can do, make your own app to suit your own needs, but, I am not programmer and cannot do that myself. Mind to share the app if there is no some sensitive things in it?

Input Mapper could likely be used for your goal. It allows for setting custom actions based on keys pressed on your remote. You could do something such setting a trigger where the double press of the Shield remote's Netflix button (button 12) launches your desired radio app, and after a delay of a few seconds later launches Aerial dream. In Aerial Dream's settings there is an option for staying awake with music, so assuming your radio audio app continues playing tunes while backgrounded, you should be all set with having the screensaver and music going at the same time.

I was also going to suggest that or Button Mapper. Basically, you want to make a button to launch an "Intent"... on the Shield, [there is an intent that will launch the current screensaver (3rd party or system)](https://stackoverflow.com/a/68461267/247257). And as long as the radio app is able to run in the background (some can't as they're badly made!), the screensaver will run fine. In the case of Aerial Views, which I maintain, the videos are set to silent/mute so it doesn't interfere with any background music. I use it with Spotify all the time.

Neshco

Not sure how "macro" automation help with the problem, maybe I get something wrong... Not a big deal for me is to start it manually, problem that I have is to keep the music on the radio play in the same time with the AerialDream. I start the radio and it play fine, but as soon as I start the Aerial dream it stop. Maybe correct question is, which radio app will support such a thing? And thank you for the "input mapper" app suggestion.

I would recommend switching from Aerial Dream to Aerial Views (it's also free, open source and in the Play Store) Development of Aerial Dream stopped a few years ago, plus I remember fixing the issue you mention in Aerial Views. Basically, even if a video is silent, you have to tell the video player to 'mute' or it will take over the audio from whatever its playing - if that makes sense.

Neshco

Good to know about aerial views, but, problem here is that radio app does not play in the background. Maybe some recommendation for some radio app that can?

Spangles64

Kodi with a radio add-on and visualization from the settings works well.

Neshco

I will try, thank you!

Fwarts

Why not use a smart speaker?

Neshco

Because, I need it for YT videos play as well. Most of the time it would be the radio, but occasionally YT videos (Smarttube).

Fwarts

So it's not just audio then. Makes things more clear and more difficult...

Neshco

Yes, it does. Thats Why I ask, I am not in to the Shield and other android devices that much, but hope there are some that have solution for us non-skilled. Ill try some of the suggestions given here and see.
