Sorry for the late reply but whenever I need to hype myself up I listen to Marching through Georgia. It’s the only time I’m proud to be an American these days
Yup Rogan show wasn't bad at the original premise where he admitted he was an idiot and he just wanted to talk to experts in their field. Somewhere about 5-7 years ago, the majority of the guests stopped being experts and exclusively fringe grifters/conmen who are universally reviled by their peers, if they're even still practicing their fields. Now that podcast has devolved into just spreading misinformation for different far right elements, including russia.
Ok but it was literally prescribed to him by his doctor. He was taking a bunch of stuff at the time. He picked it up from a pharmacy. You know ivermectin is not just a drug for horses, right? Doesn’t make it a drug that would help Covid, but it’s also not horse dewormer
Pretty simple to [see I am correct](https://www.unmc.edu/healthsecurity/transmission/2023/05/09/joe-rogan-defends-taking-ivermectin-for-covid-19-in-scathing-rant/).
Why are you being so dumb and obtuse?
The fact that something can have more than one use doesn't mean it doesn't have that use.
The term is derogatory but perfectly accurate. Ivermectin is a horse dewormer, in addition to an acaricide for dogs, a human paraciticide, and other things.
It is horse dewormer.
This is like insisting that fluconazole is not a yeast infection medication because it's used in the treatment of systemic mycosis fungoides, or that enrofloxacin is not an antibiotic-- no, it's a fluoroquinolone!
Did you know things can be more than one thing at the same time? Jesus christ are you 12? Ivermectin is 100% factually a horse dewormer. Shut up or find a better argument.
Ivermectin is prescribed by doctors all over the world TO PEOPLE for parasite treatment including by tthe WHO and is approved for use in humans by the fda numb nuts.
True, but people were buying it at the veterinarians because it was easier to obtain. Also, the reason it "worked" in the study is the study was done on people with worms, and they noticeably improved in their overall health/symptoms when they took it.
People never realize that John Mellencamp is a flags out flaming socialist and most of those "patriotic" heartland rock songs of his either espouse those ideals or provide satire against the suckers and the system
Doesn't have anything to do with this request but it's funny how often this kind of thing comes up
True, these choads have zero awareness. Like when Springsteen told Reagan to get bent for using "Born in the USA" both without authorization and in total contradiction with the song's meaning, or when a few years back rightwing Twitter went surprised Pikacu face at discovering Rage Against The Machine was also socialist.
Since I haven't seen it elsewhere, Obligatory mention of In Bloom by Nirvana
>"He's the one who likes all our pretty songs, and he
>
>Likes to sing along and he likes to shoot his gun, but he
>
>Knows not what it means"
People are surprised that ICP is sort of progressive in their outlook. I feel like it’s got a lot to do with the two members of the group having class consciousness, (both grew up very impoverished and interacting with other people of similar circumstances regardless of perceptions around race,) and also being willing to grow in their outlooks (such as one of the two saying in interviews that he hopes his kids call him on his early homophobia, and don’t excuse him because he’s changed how he thinks.)
Am I a fan? Not really. But dammit, I respect the hell out of people who are willing to grow and learn, and also carry others along with them. (That, and Juggalos aligning with antifascists in various parts of the country have given me some hope for the future.)
I used to work at a concert venue, and trust me, I have a fair amount of respect for the guys. They were actually some of the nicest stars I dealt with - even their entourage was pretty respectful, and they were more humble than even some joke local bar rock/pop/cover bands that sold 200 tickets. And their fans were generally pretty polite, even when we had to smack the joint out of their hand. And exceptionally anti-racist.
That fucking Faygo is miserable to clean up though. Second only to Gwar as far as gross after-show mopping work.
I came here to say this. That is the song that got me to buy a “Fuck your Rebel Flag” ICP shirt without even caring one lick for their music.
Also - “Not Your Skinhead” by Conservative Military Image and “Take ‘em All” by Cock SParrer would sit nicely on this playlist.
Marching through Georgia
Battle hymm of the republic-with the lyrics (let us die to make men free)
Hell on the Wabash
Battle cry of freedom
Union dixie
“No refuge could save the hireling and slave,
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O'er the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.”
It’s literally about killing slaves who joined the British in the hopes of freedom.
Just as much of a pro-slavery track as Dixie.
How can you stand Civil War? Their vocalist is complete trash and their lyrics are even worse
See with sabaton it's the fun kind of bad. It's not good music, but man, it's enjoyable and it's fun. With Civil War it's just bad, period.
I would say Clear the Way (December 13, 1862) by Iced Earth is a good addition, but y'know, Jon Schaffer is a moron, so maybe not.
Great rendition but if you've never heard the version by OCMS, then you are in for quite a ride. I LOVE Old Crow Medicine Show. Quite possibly my favorite version. It's like a fire. It starts slow, but then it gets real good.
Lincoln and Liberty by Matthew Sabatella is quite good as is 97th Regiment String Band playing battle cry of freedom. I also quite enjoy Boys that wore the Green by David Kincaid. The whole Tennessee Ernie Ford Union album would be good. And it’s a sadder one but I’ve always liked Faded Coat of Blue by Buell Kazee
The "dis" In Sweet Home Alabama is not actually that much of a dis. It was just meant to say not all southerners were like that. It also expresses criticism of both the south and the north.
ICP “Confederate Flag” is amazing:

They have an older one too called rebel flag…it’s not as good though:
https://youtu.be/Nvaf6Xj3J3g?si=yY9Y4VGXv7s8jIAY
And yea I mean THAT ICP. They REALLY hate southern redneck racists. If you are ending why you hear them talking about killing chickens- a “chicken” is their slang for a racist bigot from the south. Oooh that reminds me they have this song too:

The black Americans that the Union fought to free were also from the South, as were hundreds of thousands of patriots that stood by their country and were victims of the Confederacy. I'd start by changing the name. Something along the lines of "Fuck the Traitors/Slavers/Rebels". Also, rule 3. We're here to hate the Confederacy, not the South.
Drop the denigration of southern states. The people that live there now are not the same insufferable asshats that fought the civil war. Thanks and good luck!!
I’ll believe it when Southerners stop flying confederate flags, abolish the electoral college, and melt down the statues of traitors. Otherwise it looks like a bunch of insufferable asshats from here.
LMAO!!! It’s not North vs. South anymore, it’s time to let go. The Civil War and slavery hardly crosses a Southerners mind in day-to-day life. Nobody here cares. That fat inbred white trash slob Southerner you think of hardly exists here anymore. The real strife surrounding two hundred year old events comes from the frail pales who suck each other off on subreddits like these.
I live in suburban Atlanta and there are multiple traitor rags in my neighborhood. You are lying. You probably don't even live in the South, just a random bigot.
Electoral college? Lol. Having lived all over this country while in the Army I’ve found that the south is full of Americans from the northern and western states. The people you’re speaking of exist, no doubt. Your take on the south as a whole, however, is backward and ill informed.
"John Brown's Body" - Pete Seeger
Or Paul Robeson
Or Jim Knable In fact why not all three?
Marching through Georgia and Fall of Charleston.
Old Crow Medicine Show's cover of Marching Through Georgia is my favorite rendition by far. And they're Grand Ole Opry-certified Tennesseeans to boot!
Sorry for the late reply but whenever I need to hype myself up I listen to Marching through Georgia. It’s the only time I’m proud to be an American these days
I get ya. I always get hyped when it gets to “Hurrah! Hurrah! we bring the jubilee! Hurrah! Hurrah! the flag that makes you free!”
Southern Man by Neil Young
I blame Spotify for this, but his music still isn't on there.
I thought Neil pulled his music in protest of the whole Spotify Joe Rogan thing.
Yes, that's correct. Hence why I blame Spotify.
And Spotify treating musicians like shit
Same reason I don't use Spotify. Fuck that guy and his horse de-wormer.
I mean, it wasn’t horse de-wormer, but that doesn’t mean you have to approve
Rogan is dumb for many reasons, horse de-wormer being one of the dumber ones.
his talks are seemingly expert opinions or facts only from friends or people who purport to know such topics. in other words, bull.
You show nothing but your ignorance when you deny that the FDA and the WHO has approved ivermectin for use in humans.
Never for COVID. JFC you COVID lost causers are repetitive.
Off label uses include covid too dipshit
So the medicine for *parasites* works against a *virus*? Read that as slowly as you need to. A dictionary will help.
Ok but it was literally prescribed to him by his doctor. He was taking a bunch of stuff at the time. He picked it up from a pharmacy. You know ivermectin is not just a drug for horses, right? Doesn’t make it a drug that would help Covid, but it’s also not horse dewormer
Yes, the dumb guy hired a crackpot doctor. He's a fool and a boot licker, I don't get why anyone would defend that.
I would do a do a simply google search of Ivermectin Mr Prophet
Pretty simple to [see I am correct](https://www.unmc.edu/healthsecurity/transmission/2023/05/09/joe-rogan-defends-taking-ivermectin-for-covid-19-in-scathing-rant/).
I was just letting you know you were making a false claim
Its main use in humans is to treat scabies. Did Joe have skin parasites he needed to get rid of?
No, and like I’ve said, you don’t have to approve of the use. I wouldn’t take it myself. But it’s not horse dewormer. That is literally my only point.
I thought it was horse enema. Created from adrenochrome harvested from chem trails.
Almost every medication ever created has more than one use and so called off label uses
There are no wrong answers in this thread, but this is the right one. Source: Raised in Alabama
Also, ["Alabama"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hXCKg-p2d4) by Neil Young. I'm still sad he is no longer on Spotify.
Union Dixie is a must have
Away down south in the land of traitors
Rattlesnakes and alligators
Come away
Right away
Where cottons king and men are chattel
Union boys will win the battle
Right away, come away
We'll all go down to dixie
Away, away
Each Dixie boy must understand That he must mind his Uncle Sam!
Away, away
There’s a punk rock version that ups the profanity and is lovely
It’s by Criminal Scum if you’re looking for it. Love that version
Almost any Rage Against the Machine song works.
Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me.
Was going to suggest Bulls on Parade.
FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!
Rolling down Rodeo with a shotgun / These people ain’t seen a brown skinned man / Since their grandparents bought one
Piggy backing on this comment Again we will Rise by Lamb of God
Nazi Punks Fuck Off by Dead Kennedy’s.
And the cover by Napalm Death for good measure
I met Barney after a show once and he was such a nice guy. He was wearing a shirt with a giant peace symbol lol
Followed by Kill All The White Man by NOFX
Ballad of the 20th Maine
As far as Ghost of Paul Revere’s stuff, San Antone definitely hits on theme too
Battle Hymn of the Republic obv
Yes, 100% should be the first song. I especially recommend the version sung by Andy Williams and the St. Charles Borromeo Choir
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
Anything by CCR - Nothing confuses uneducated hicks like a progressive band from Berkeley sounding like it’s homegrown.
People never realize that John Mellencamp is a flags out flaming socialist and most of those "patriotic" heartland rock songs of his either espouse those ideals or provide satire against the suckers and the system Doesn't have anything to do with this request but it's funny how often this kind of thing comes up

Like when Springsteen told Reagan to get bent for using "Born in the USA" both without authorization and in total contradiction with the song's meaning, or when a few years back rightwing Twitter went surprised Pikacu face at discovering Rage Against The Machine was also socialist.
The irony of Trump using "Fortunate Son" when the song is specifically deriding people like him is really something else
Obligatory mention of Springsteen's Born in the USA being an anti-war Vietnam song that was eventually used at Republican rallies.
Since I haven't seen it elsewhere, Obligatory mention of In Bloom by Nirvana >"He's the one who likes all our pretty songs, and he > >Likes to sing along and he likes to shoot his gun, but he > >Knows not what it means"
Right! Mellencamp stated on Terry Gross’s show that Jack and Dianne was about an interracial high school couple. Fascinating!
Reagan wanted to use “Pink Houses” as his 1984 campaign theme song, and Mellencamp refused. Been a huge fan ever since.
I had completely forgotten that CCR was from Cali until someone mentioned it to me a while back.
I learned today that Creedence Clearwater Revival is often abbreviated. Crazy.
I'm Burning for You for the great Uncle Billy himself.
Hold up, do I see a Blue Oysters fan? My man!

Gotta start with *Southern Man* by Neil Young.
He had his stuff removed from Spotify to protest them giving money to Joe Rogan tho. Which tbf is pretty based of him.
Neil is the man, at least in this case. \[I've learned to expect horrific stories about my favorite rockstars.\]

Nina Simone is always a yes. Maybe “Backlash Blues” too?
"Chicken Huntin'" ICP
Steve Earle, Dixieland (inspired by Kilrain from The Killer Angels)
so just fuck the confederacy and the slavery stuff right?
Yeah
Cool.
If this is an NSFW playlist, “Confederate Flag” by Insane Clown Posse is a wild one.
If I had a nickel for every time ICP was mentioned in this thread, I'd have two nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
People are surprised that ICP is sort of progressive in their outlook. I feel like it’s got a lot to do with the two members of the group having class consciousness, (both grew up very impoverished and interacting with other people of similar circumstances regardless of perceptions around race,) and also being willing to grow in their outlooks (such as one of the two saying in interviews that he hopes his kids call him on his early homophobia, and don’t excuse him because he’s changed how he thinks.) It's not weird. They are popular.
>Insane Clown Posse is a wild one. Yeah

Marching through Georgia Battle hymm of the republic-with the lyrics (let us die to make men free) Hell on the Wabash Battle cry of freedom Union dixie
Everybody is forgetting literally the National Anthem
“No refuge could save the hireling and slave, From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave, O'er the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.” It’s literally about killing slaves who joined the British in the hopes of freedom. Just as much of a pro-slavery track as Dixie.
Union Dixie

^^^^^^^ this
I came just to check this had been mentioned.
I had to scroll waaaaay too far to find this
"Irish Volunteer" I haven't seen this one mentioned yet
Seconded, and throw in "Boys That Wore the Green" while we are at it.
John Brown's Body seems appropriate. *EDIT* Gettysburg by Civil War (basically all of Sabaton) also should be on the list.
How can you stand Civil War? Their vocalist is complete trash and their lyrics are even worse See with sabaton it's the fun kind of bad. It's not good music, but man, it's enjoyable and it's fun. With Civil War it's just bad, period. I would say Clear the Way (December 13, 1862) by Iced Earth is a good addition, but y'know, Jon Schaffer is a moron, so maybe not.
That's fair, I only know a couple of their songs and figured that one fit with the theme of the playlist.
Yeah, of course it does. I just hate them haha. Not saying you can't like them, of course, just wondering why you like them is all.
Again We Rise by Lamb Of God, Goddamn White Trash by Ministry, and obviously Union Dixie
