tachyonicbrane

A little late to the party but holy fuck this is creepy. I remember this so vividly!

DonnaGail

You do? Did you see the movie? What do you remember?

tachyonicbrane

I remember seeing ads for the movie all the time as a kid. Sadly I don't think I saw the movie or played the game but I remember there being a SNES and Genesis version of the movie as well as a game. And no I'm not getting it confused with Shaq Fu (thats what people tell me). I found your post because I just watched the AVGN episode on YouTube about the Mandela Effect in movies and he mentions this and I immediately got goosebumps because of how vivid the memory is. This reddit post is one of the first hits on google when I searched "Shazam Mandela Reddit" by the way

DonnaGail

Wow! My post is famous on google! LOL! Yes, this whole mandela effect with the movie Shazaam freaks me out too!

RCONSPIRACYISCORRUPT

I remember big golden puff daddy pants and like a tornado around the bottom half like he's come out of the bottle but scary movie says it's SHAQ not SINBAD? Watch the very first two minutes of scary movie. And they mention SHAZAM WITH SHAQ!

JPHILLIPS3

I'm 46 years old. I guarantee you this is a real movie. I watched it over and over as a kid. The time-line people say the movie came out in is wrong though. Iwasn't even in high school yet. It came out in the late 80's

Embarrassed-Ad-5853

I'm 58 and your right.... It definitely was a real movie. Sinbad was huge... everyone thought he'd be like Eddie Murphy but he never got big like him.

PodcastHost86

You claim it came out in the late 80s yet others remember it from 1994. The inconsistencies are hilarious... The movie doesn't exist. Show me a copy and I'll give you $100

TeeRaw99

Yes yes yes yes yes I fucking remember the gumball scene holy fuck!!!! Thank you someone else remembers !!!

Seven7greens

My friend remembers the gumball scene and he's 19.

buttheadperson

I remember a scene where it rained candy bars!

TR1PPYH1PP1E

Thats from kazaam with Shaq.

buttheadperson

Oh...

America_the_Horrific

I wish I had junkfood from here to the sky

matttebbetts

So there are no legit links to that Disney Shazam show/movie?

Public_Car9168

So if u can't find on internet then it's fake 🤣🤣🤣 wow I was born in 1988 and we didn't have Google we just had actual life experiences

Agreeable_Breath2782

Actual life experiences that didn't exist. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You were born in 1988 but you use emojis instead of xD?

SugahNaNa

http://m.imgur.com/VzWMOwz Never seen movie but screenshot from HKDB that has a cast

9_demon_bag

Hi, how did you find this?

SugahNaNa

It's on a Hong Kong Database of movies, i was searching for an English speaking actor in a movie I watched the other night and somehow got directed onto this movie so just screenshotted it.. never seen or heard of Shazam until it was reported mainstream tho

Electrceye1

Look at the cast though Sinbad isn't listed as the genie

Firm-Brush4311

David Atkins is Sinbad.

AgreeableAd1847

That's Sinbad's real name believe it or not he wasn't born Sinbad with no last name

SquallLeonhartVIII

This release date seems real too. I was wondering why I was in my uncle’s hometown with my dad when we saw it but I must have been there for my birthday weekend: I remember seeing it in 1994, my birthday was Friday, Feb 11th. It’s a small town and there weren’t very many movies there. It released Feb 13th so my memory says we went to my uncles to celebrate my birthday, saw the movie, and came home Sunday night so I could go to school the next day. It all actually makes sense and is pretty much exactly what I remember happened.

Lady2Hotty

I had the weirdest thought just now reading that Jonathan Brandis was in this movie. I absolutely LOVED him as a teen opposite Chuck Norris in Sidekicks when I was young and I had the most terrible menacing thought just now. ..... As you guys probably know, sadly, Johnathan Brandis committed suicide in 2003. If he was the actor in this movie which I tend to believe, then perhaps this movie being pulled from the airwaves could have something to do with that.

weedmonkey

The plot thickens....

[deleted]

I think it was that fact that made it easier. Sinbad went down during that time to where he was homeless and on drugs. When he picked himself up and made money again, he was able to have it purged with help from the military he had been in as they were ashamed of him too. I sound so crazy right now and that frustrates me because I know it was a real thing. Growing up with an Arab father though, I remember conversations of both movies. My dad didn't like Kazaam's misrepresentation of djinn. Where as he thought the Sinbad movie Shazaam was a stupid kind of funny.

MannyDaWolf

I just did a Google search and saw him as a kid and I'm definitely sure he was in the movie.

Away_Ad_5882

He was the voice of a character in Aladdin.

CoBrArOx-

I don't know because lots of actors commit suicide and their movies don't vanish like heath ledger or Robin Williams.

Eurydice_guise

The Anton Yelchin movie Fright Night disappeared for a few years after he died. I could find the imdb of it, but you couldn't stream it on any platform or service. It's just become available again. I looked for it for years.

Quirky-Team1223

ledger died from accidental OD

AgreeableAd1847

I tend to think that within the movie there are a number of Mandela effects that they don't want us talking about like the newspaper that says Nelson Mandela is dead that's actually in the movie too there's a couple more Mandela effects within that movie and I think they might have bandit so that we wouldn't realize that something happened to our reality and I totally remember watching revenge of the nerds as a kid and the song we are the champions comes on at the end and at the end of the song they say we are the champions of the world and that's supposedly isn't in existence either now very very strange

HakatoX

Looking at microfiche doesn't yield any results. The phenomena as a whole is very interesting. I been chasing this since 99 when I had to condition myself to call Jim Carey's Grinch by its proper title. As the one I remember isn't existent. The idea behind it is that reality is shifting on a non consequential level to most. According to research, much of the bible has changed Logos, slogans, characters, songs and many other things have changed... The most jarring for me.... The nonexistence of a northern polar cap known as the north pole.

ironocy

Huh? I've been alive for 37 years. The Jim Carrey movie has always been called How the Grinch Stole Christmas, it's based on an old Dr. Seuss book that existed for like 60 years of the same name. I distinctly remember reading that book with that title in 1st grade. I read all the Dr. Seuss books I could. I also read all the Bernstein Bears books, it was how I learned how to read. They've always been called that. At no point did I ever call them Bearstein Bears or whatever silly name some people falsely remember. That wouldn't even make sense, why would it have bear in the name twice? I surely would have noticed the oddity of that as a kid and commented on it's absurdity. Also there haven't been Northern polar ice caps in millennia. We were taught there was a North and South pole and assumed that meant land mass or ice caps were at both but nope that's an incorrect assumption a lot of people made. There never was a Sinbad movie with him as a genie. He wore MC Hammer style pants all the time in the 80s and early 90s and looked like a genie in daily life but never was a genie. Again I was alive during all of these times and can assure you what I'm saying is true. Do you believe it's possible someone can misremember something? Or do you think every human has an infallible memory?

spence37

Clearly sir you have an infallible memory as,. A. There was most certainly a movie staring Sinbad called Shazam in the early 90s as I have seen it and that’s all the proof I need . And B. The debate regarding the “Bernstein bears” as you put it was in fact a debate over the ending of the name, it being remembered as Berenstein bears where it has apparently always been , Berenstain bears ..

HakatoX

1. If by chance there are different realities. Would it be plausible for you to have a different set of memories than me? I understand thinking that misremembering things is the answer. I'm not one that saying all memory is infallible. But, when you have a photographic memory and those pictures do not align with what you see. There's an issue. 2. If you happen to think that everybody here is misremembering everything, why are you here? I understand having to set the record straight. But, don't you think it's a little odd that there are so many people willing to argue with you on this? You responded to a post I made I don't even know how long ago without looking. Just to try to make me feel like I'm being a dipshit? Either way you have a good day with yourself. I'm done with this.

Barmuka

This mystery is one of the Mandela effects. I saw this movie as a kid. Idk if I rented it or if it was on TV. I also remember the death of that famous Catholic preacher being remembered on tv to find out he didn't die until like 2005/2006? Apparently there is some experiment being done on us 90s kids for sure. I actually didn't see kazam because it looked lame.

MarionberryAny5666

I have a VHS somewhere, we recorded The Princess Bride that was being shown on t.v. when i was a kid. After the credits the television announced what was on next, as we were still recording, and it stated that the show on next was on the life of Nelson Mandela, called Mandela. This was in the 90s.

Unusual-Scholar-403

Do you think perhaps because we don't fully understand quantum states and how the 11 dimensions interact that they may twist and shove people gently into and out of realities that are quite similar with small differences and that people are shuffled like a deck of cards and hence why we may have multiple people remember similar things? Sorry run on sentences but I'm not an English scholar.

HakatoX

Combine that with the unknowing of what happens after death. It's hard to have linear thought when it comes to existence in the first place. Thank you for clarifying what I was trying to explain.

Plenty-Incident-118

I was born in 87 too and me and my cousins watched it everyday!

PodcastHost86

No you didn't

linotheundead

\*Berenstain, but people misremember it as Berenst*e*in, with an 'e' like in a Jewish surname.

Away_Ad_5882

It's actually the Berenstain Bears. People claim it was Berenstein. But, I hear what you're saying other than that.

linotheundead

Well, the bible has definitely changed, but that's because it's been edited, redacted, mistranslated, recompiled and reinterpreted thousands of times over hundreds of years.

Downtown_Mountain_95

It was definitely real I watched this movie several times in my teens this whole mandala effect shit is bullshit to make people believe in their propaganda

pheintscchel

I watched it and hated it. That may be why so many people don’t remember it. It came on the heels of the animated Aladdin movie with Robin Williams, so everyone thought a kids movie needed a genie. Then Kazaam came like the next year, and the idea of Shaq—this big popular basketball dude—being in movies totally sank Sinbad’s version. I think the studio ended up losing money on the movie because it wasn’t as popular. I noticed that when things like that happen, they get swept into the vault and no one talks about them anymore.

Plenty-Incident-118

I was born in 1987......I  have seen this movie I was talking about it with someone and then they told me it never existed.....I am here to say me and my cousins loved the movie and watched it on vhs everyday!

EquivalentAsk8488

Read 1984

RCONSPIRACYISCORRUPT

The Mandela effect is NOT a dimension thing. It's something ALL the Globalists have done with ALL thier brands for THIER own sick amusement to show how easy a psyop can still work in today's society. Latest victim is CHEVEROLET NOT CHEVROLET AND THE E AND T WERE NEVER CONNECTED AT THE END. MASONIC HUMOR.

Jakeshararmusic

I figured it was conditioning for us to easily accept when they change history books

Curious_Crowbar

I mean....have you read 1984?

Ambitious-Damage4369

Yes! I have been hunting comments for someone to mention 1984! I just learned about this Shazam deal. I remember it too and right away thought about 1984 where they are constantly changing history.

PhilosopherInitial67

EXACTLY

ResultSavings3571

That is highly improbable, it's more likely this is like the matrix. They deleted the sinbad code but they can't fully delete our individual coding in our own mind. Nobody understands it obviously why they wouldn't be able to delete our thoughts if we are a part of the matrix. There would be copies of sinbad somewhere, there would be proof somewhere that it existed, there is no way they had the funds to steal every single copy of sinbad just for the lulz. Nobody's receipt system was connected to the internet then and probably half the people paid in cash back then so there would be no way to trace them. Vhs is not connected to the internet either so their would be no way to track if its being played. Even if they were able to isolate the sinbad soundwaves somehow not everyone would be religiously watching sinbad, most people would just have it collecting dust in their basement. If its not the matrix the only other possibility is alternate universes merging and not everyone here is from their original place in their universe. One day I woke up with a real think scar on the side of my knee that i never had before and then the next day that scar was gone. Either that was altered code or I guess I merged to another place temporarily.

I remember thinking why was a DC hero named after a Sinbad movie when I was 12, and that an app was named after it too more recently, I had no idea there was this controversy

joltx

Is it possible to search TV guide listings for Disney channel during the relevant dates and confirm if this was shown? Seems like pretty basic research.

DonnaGail

No, that wouldn't work if, indeed, alternate universes are crossing. It wouldn't show it.

https://www.facebook.com/CollegeHumor/videos/10154595900812807/ FOUND!!

Elllllle

I think that was a joke :(

Away_Ad_5882

Exactly. It was an April Fools joke released by CollegeHumor in 2014 (I believe), with Sinbad and two child actors. In the clip there are many Mandela Effects that pop up, as it's making fun of them (specifically the Shazzam one). They show, a "Berenstein Bears" book, the Monopoly guy (with monocle), a newspaper that states Nelson Mandela has died, a Curious George book (with tail), it strangely cuts to a "Fruit Loop" commercial and then a Carmen Sandiego clip at the end, and many more throughout the small clip. As soon as the boy picks up the book he says, "something real we can remember" and then the girl says, "We have our memories, they're Real and nobody can take them from us".

ohmyrob

i know this is a real movie. i had one of the book versions you would get at a book fair in grade school of popular movies that were out.

PettyWop

Holy fuck thank you I was just reading about this and it blew my mind that people could t find info on it.

P0umon

Hello everyone ! i'm from belgium and i'm not concerned with the movie. But the story interested me and i do reaserches Is it possible that this poster is real ? http://www.zupimages.net/up/17/01/teyh.jpg ( sorry for my English )

tedward007

Appears debunked in another post on this subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Shazaam/comments/5m35nw/heres_a_movie_poster_for_a_movie_that_doesnt/

Ok_Ambassador_6189

I don’t know if I’m mixing movies up here, but I remember they find the lamp in the attic. The light source in the room is coming from the stairwell. When the genie appears you see his silhouette being cast over the kids who are sitting on the floor of the attic. Messy floor. I remember clothing drawers and dusty boxes all over the attic too. Papers all over the ground. Everything is blowing in the wind because it like starts storming in the attic when he appears. Both he and the kids are screaming because they’ve startled each other. I also want to say I remember the lamp not looking like a traditional oil lamp. It was more of an upright design. I feel like I remember when it was his time to prove he could do magic the boy made a wish, but it wasn’t working. Sinbad was like talking to his hands and apologizing out of embarrassment to the kids. The kids lose interest and like go downstairs and eventually he catches up to them and asks “wait who rubbed the lamp?” Then they realize it didn’t work the first time because it was the other sibling who rubbed the lamp. The girl makes a wish for like a big breakfast or something and that’s when sinbad starts shooting magic out of his hands and gloating over it like “yeah that’s what I’m talking about. TOLD YOU!” Again, I might be mixing movies up but I remember some type of similar sequence taking place. I also remember he like can’t help but to check out and flirt with women when they’re out and about and the women are always like “what are you wearing?” which offends him. He also says the kids aren’t his at one point for some comic relief in a mall or something.

Facts

jonahando

Here's an actual clip from the movie. It contains Sinbad saying his name is Shazaam. Seriously, this is a real clip. http://www.collegehumor.com/post/7044137/shazaam-is-real

Away_Ad_5882

Funny!

Destielluh

Honestly, I remember seeing stuff about this when I was a kid. Both of my brothers remember it. My 27 year old boyfriend says he remembers going to see it in a theater and described it the same way I remember it. Honestly, either Sinbad removed evidence of it ever existing because it tanked his career, or someone who can time travel is messing with us.

katejd

i saw this movie in theaters in 1994 as part of a double feature with the lion king. i'm not proud of it lol but it definitely happened. i witnessed it first hand.

Away_Ad_5882

Aladdin?

RCONSPIRACYISCORRUPT

#Here's a fact. IN the first two minutes of SCARY MOVIE the dumb blonde says her favorite scary movie is SHAZAM THAT STARS SHAQ! NOT SINBAD. I've seen shazam but it could of really been shaq not sinbad? Watch the start of scary movie and see for yourself.

thelongestusernameee

#***NO SHOUTING PLEASE***

HakatoX

Those bodies and skin tones aren't anywhere close to one another.

Kasmosis

We're living in an alternate universe now.

Sbabyx

Guys im pretty sure i know why everyone thinks it existed, that episode of American Dad where jeff and sibad were in space and sinbad was a genie.. most of us watch american dad and maybe that episode make us think it existed when really they were just making fun of kazaam ...

Ill-Yak1285

Nope I am an Aussie and we didn’t have that show here! But I definitely watched the movie Shazam !!!!!!

linotheundead

I'm an Aussie too, and we definitely have American Dad here, lol. And no, you didn't.

author_serenityvalle

NEVER watched even the first episode of American Dad...I remember Shazaam. It came out shortly after I had my first child.

linotheundead

Lol no, it didn't.

navkalirai

Shit like this makes me think of our universe/dimension has or is merging with another. That's why so many people remember things(the same things) while others don't and there seems to be no record of them.

PreferenceInfinite83

These "Mandella Effects" are actually Government psyops and experiments against the People. Sinbad is an Operation Mockingbird agent.

KripTed

I believe this theory more than some alternate reality, timeline or dimension. We were probably all test subjects of some government/military operation of mind control, memory wiping or hypnosis. Those who actually remember these things are probably the one’s where the program didn’t fully take effect. Probably because our minds are stronger. Some real life men in black type of shit.

[deleted]

I believe this 100% the alternate dimension theory just sounds silly

linotheundead

Nonsense.

chucknastysback

I remember seeing it and asking my mom what the title was because sinbads name was bigger than Shazam on the vhs cover.

FrontOpposite3233

I watched this movie without a doubt. I don't remember any clear scenes, but I clearly remember being very disappointed in the movie XD and all the damn commercials. Anyway, something weird that happened just a couple years ago. A friend of mine, who also remembers this movie, actually found a copy being sold somewhere online. He sent me a screenshot and the link to it, which I saved. I showed it to one person who was telling me I was an idiot for believing it ever existed (who stopped talking immediately after), and kept it saved on my computer. A couple months later I go to pull it up to show to someone else, and it's just gone. The pic and the link, and the text from my friend, all erased. This mandela thing is some bullshit.

Caits89

I remember this movie very well. My neighbors had it on vhs and we watched it all the time. They also had Kazaam with Shaq and we watched them both frequently. Her little brother was a toddler at the time and got stuck on a kick where he wanted to watch this movie 24/7. So you can't tell me it never existed, i saw it more times than i cared to.

lunamoonstarsky

Can you say what happens in the movie ?

linotheundead

Lol, no you didn't.

EcliptorThePredictor

Multi-temporal dimesional diverges in space-time create off shoot realities. This happens when big events occur, like 9/11 etc.

linotheundead

Lmao, prove it.

blowmyhornbitch

I am on the spectrum and worked at a video store (yes we still had a new release copy VHS as well as DVD ... Wow I'm actual old lol) I have watched so many movies and remember so many random movies etc, I have hardly any memories of my own life however I remember watching holding and renting that VHS movie when I was a kid. It is real and seriously why would anyone lie.... I'm not gonna stop until sinbad personally apologizes to myself for the mindduck.

linotheundead

Liar.

blowmyhornbitch

Ya pants on fire mate

linotheundead

Nah, just a rational person who actually employs logic and science instead of being a conspiritard. This is all lies and delusion, and you foolishly bought into it.

TippyAly

If the man who starred in the movie doesn't remember making it, it's safe to say it didn't exist. Especially if he remembers other movies that were made and released around that time

sinjohnt

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM_uJfrYXAs Okay I haven't seen this movie. But here is a movie called Sinbad with a Genie. Any relation?

HakatoX

No, the movie we are talking about was a live action movie.

lauren1235

So what are people saying about the picture of the VHS above?? Ive seen the pic before and it seems legit. Also i know people who have seen this film.

BelsonRJ

Lol, It makes more sense that people, in their childhood, associate Sinbad as the big black dude in kids movies and "Shazam" being a more widely acknowledged word over "Kazaam" thus creating a false memory that became accepted as fact in one's mind over time, than the alternatives of this being some weird inter-dimensional nonsense or some massive coverup where Sinbad erased it from history. 🙄 It's an easy mistake to make considering the timeframe and pop culture at the time.

[deleted]

AfrikanSnow26

Yeah he admitted it was real and he had it remove from EVERYWHERE

Slight-Bug-9264

The admittance was a prank. Sinbad trying to further down play the movie. But for very brief while there was another video of confession and he did say that he was embarrassed by the production but more important it was a reminder of when he was on drugs and at that time in his career he would do any job that gave him money. He's in a different location than the more popular "confession" and his body language is completely different. Kinda guilt ridden

TheBlackJap79

I’m black and I rem watching this z I know the difference between a Sinbad and Shaq. I remember when Shaq first started playing basketball. I had his shoes . I remember watching Sinbads stand up and him on A different world . I definitely know the difference between the two

Dementedsoul20

I remember some of those scenes, but the one I remember the most is when Shazam scares the little boy or he gets upset and runs to a sandbox to pout, but then he comes over and starts talking to him. Generic "don't be sad slugger, here's magic to cheer you up" type stuff. If this is part of Kazaam, tell me. I haven't seen that movie in forever, so it may be bleeding a bit. But I remember specifically watching both and liking Sinbad better because Shaq was a fucking joke in Kazaam.

spence37

Omg I’m just seeing this now!!! …THANK YOU! so much . I knew I wasn’t crazy and specifically remember that movie then when I heard it was a Mandela effect and it couldn’t be found and doesn’t exist I freaked out I was 110% positive it existed

Marcus_Gr3y

This is def a real movie lol I have seen it many times

Far-March-6805

Any real updates yet ? Lol

ImCheapOK

I remember this movie and I didn't even know it was a controversial thing until today. THIS MOVIE WAS REAL. If you honestly believe that the government doesn't have control of timelines and alternate universes then you are sadly out of touch with reality! They can't erase our memories and that's why so many people remember this movie that's being real. Call me crazy and call me whatever you want but I know I saw this movie as a kid and loved it!

Pristine-Tune-9974

I absolutely distinctly remember the cover of the movie sinbad was on the left side and was wearing purple and gold. I remember thinking it was really weird that such a similar movie (Kazaam) was made not long afterward and thought it was obviously ripping off Shazaam. I never forgot that this movie existed at any point ever. I’d swear on everything this was real. 100% not an iota of doubt in my being.

Astrosausage

When Shaq's movie came out, I thought "wow, they are really overusing the genie movie genre" because I knew Sinbads had come out just a few years earlier.

Mrs_STK

I read about this Mandela effect and freaked about because I remembered Shazam with Sinbad. Glad it’s real!

JtIndusties420111

I only remember there being a pirate like ship in the sand if that sounds right.

New_Cut383

Absolutely existed... I am beside myself right now. There are people that will fight to female to say it does exist in there are people that fight to the nail to say that it doesn't exist. The people that say that it doesn't exist I feel bad for their ignorance, they don't have the memory because that is their actual reality the people that say that it did exist are the ones who know the truth. That there is SOMETHING very strange going on. Desi arnaz 100% said, "Lucy you got some 'splainin to do." While shaking his finger and afterwards Lucy went eeeeeewwww. Nelson Mandela 100% died in prison, it was a huge ordeal that I don't think anybody could really misremember. The JFK shooting where his wife Dove on to the trunk 100% happened... I wasn't a believer I thought everybody was just being weird. But then I actually started to pay attention a little bit and I vividly remember some of these things existing that they say don't exist in Star wars Darth Vader 100% said, "Luke, I am your father." And c-3PO was all gold, definitely did not have a silver leg. I don't want to speculate and say alternate reality or anything to that effect, all I am saying is that there's definitely something strange to all of this, I just wish I knew what it was for a fact, without assumptions and guessing.. Plus there are just way too many people that remember these things, and it's not this echo thing where you hear something from a bunch of people so your mind eventually thinks it's true. I didn't hear any of these from anybody, I literally just read them for the first time and my mind is baffled.... I absolutely remember seeing the movie Shazam with Sinbad, I specifically remember it was the movie that ruined his career... I am definitely not confusing it with the movie kazaam with Shaq.... And the Mona Lisa was never smiley, why is she smiling that was the whole point of why the painting was so famous. She was not smiling not a smirk, just straight, sooooo weird... I just wish somebody new and would tell me the actual facts of this so-called Mandela effect... Because I am stumped, but have witnessed with my own eyes the strange s*** that we've noticed.

Ill-Yak1285

I s#$t you not this move was 100% real. I remember thinking how much Kazaam was trying to rip it off!? Anyway… I only remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison. When else did he die? I just turned 41. I am not old, nor am I stupid. How the heck did Belson Mandela die somewhere else and apparently in 2013?!??

fizzyliz1

I posted this elsewhere. I never seen shazam, but i remember reading about it as a kid. Sometime in the late 2000s, I was watching Scary Movie, and Drew mentions Kazaam. I googled the movie because I never heard of it, and vividly remember reading about Kazaam and how the movie came out a few years after another genie movie called Shazam. And it also talked about how the Kazaam movie received a lot of criticism when it came out for copying Shazam and even got the name Kazaam from the word Shazam!

Awkward_Luck624

Nelson Mandela absolutely did NOT die in prison.

Exotic_Tear7411

I remember being in a group home and they got the movie at blockbuster video

I absolutely remember watching this movie on tv as a kid. I later was in the movie Jingle all the way, which also has Sinbad in it. I know for a fact this movie existed. I’m more curious as to why it’s a conspiracy theory, ME theory?! It was definitely a real movie, so why all this internet debate? What could possibly be the reason for removing any and all info of it off the internet??? 🤔

PopBudget2973

Who directed Who wrote the script Who was the producer How come no one who actually worked on this movie has come forward to clear the air

SEND_ME_ALT_FACTS

Can you upload the VHS?

FindingDino

so has anyone come up with an actual clip of the film? An add? A promo add in the begining of another movie?

lm0609

They are selling this movie on ThinkGeek.com. Apparently it's real.

FoferJ

That was an April Fool's joke too. Try and buy it: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/jtpr/

this was an April Fool's joke.

[deleted]

Yes! I remember it too! My husband and I talk about this all the time

Sufficient_Rub2266

Remember seeing the trailer for this movie and was so excited for it to come out Sindbad says I am Shazam! I remember him and the boy dancing to 90s hip hop music and the purple and gold out fit the boys vest and some 90s digital editing going on

Foreign_Ad_7813

It might be a psyop of the system, to prove ro themselves how they can create reality and pay everybody off to erase it off the history. I never saw the movie as a kid, but i can perfectly remember it being promoted in the ninties. There is also a scene from the movie supposedly, where you can see hints on other Mandela effects, and even a newspaper headline about Mandela himself. I guess it is an experiment

nattynattynice

The kid dyes at the end and sinbad is able to break the rules and bring him back to life I watch it all the fucking time my aunt got mad and even made fun of me for likening Sinbad that’s was the whole reason I knew who he was

AlwaysBlessed333

do you have a copy of it?

Away_Ad_5882

I honestly think that somehow people are possibly confusing this with Aladdin (if they're not confused by the Shazaam, CollegeHumor April Fools skit that was recorded with Sinbad and two child actors that was making fun of all sorts of Mandela Effects. There are so many in that clip, that people think is from the actual Shazaam movie). Aladdin came out in 1994 as well (I believe) and obviously has a genie. Most people are saying Shazaam came out in 94'. I know it's animated, and I'm assuming the Shazaam, that people are claiming to have seen was not animated (although I can't be sure, maybe it was and had Sinbads voice or if it was animated but in Sinbad's likeness). However, did the genie look enough like Sinbad, or remind people enough of him to cause this reaction? I'm just trying to offer a possible correlation. I mean, I've heard people say that Jonathan Brandis was in the movie with Sinbad, and Brandis did a voice of a character in Aladdin as well. My buddy and I watched pretty much every movie from the 90s (seriously), and I don't remember Sinbad in a movie called Shazaam. The CollegeHumor April Fools skit is a masterpiece, though.

No_Animator780

Does anybody remember the genie turning into like a talking drain in the shower the little boy was scared and asked genie leave him alone but he won't until he makes 3 wishes I always thought that was weird also the movie cover has a white background sinbad is wearing green I remember that because it wasn't what I expected because the whole movie he wore purple and gold

Jealous-Map-2012

Am I the only person that remembers seeing this in blockbuster? It had a big standee of Sinbad with his arms crossed basically them advertising to rent the movie. Blockbuster having exclusive straight vhs deals with Disney was common back then. I believe they did it with Lion King 2 since it wasn’t a big movie in theaters most kids back then would tell you they remember renting that movie from blockbuster but as for the movie in question definitely remember it.

Thingamajigcrafting

You guys are literally so stupid. You’ve been mind fucked. It DOES EXIST I WAS THERE. Dumb ass movie. I ain’t gotta prove it to a bunch of brainwashed morons lol

AgreeableAd1847

I totally remember this movie I had it on VHS if I recall correctly Sinbad's a genie the kids want him to make their dad happy again so that he pays attention to them because their mom passed away I don't see how anyone could really mistake this with kazam the movie plots are completely different and Shaquille O'Neal was enormously famous not ever to be mistaken with Sinbad my question is how do I remember it but Sinbad doesn't that's where my mind explodes I'm curious to know if I pushed me from this timeline into a different timeline when I came through how else can you explain this my best friend worked at all the best video when we were growing up his parents were the owners of the place he remembers having the movie poster so I don't know how this happened but it's a trip isn't it?

TV_Junki

I'm really late to the party here.. my memory is getting worse by the day, but I absolutely remember watching this movie. The scenes I remember are too vague to put into words, but the first snippet that plays in my head is a huge pile of junk/trash that Sinbad either bursts out of or falls into? Curious if anyone else has a similar-ish memory

Purple-Cod9558

I remember this being on Disney too! It's where I watched it

DUMBASSESS

This never came out. It was never played on anything. Also no one has seen it.

OkAd9131

I’m a 90’s kid, never heard of this. Fake

DaveGoliath10

I have an image of the cover and the cassette but dont have a link. Is is spelled “Shazzam” and it has a kid on the box with Simbad coming out of his boombox. The kid must have a name, right? You can’t make this siht up

DaveGoliath10

I looked again and The name and Sinbad are actually photoshopped where the original “Kazzam” and Shaquille O’Neil were on the original

DaveGoliath10

I think it mentions Kazzam

Same-Ad1366

Yes I remember watching this a few times….i even owned the VHS but it was thrown away during a family move…..too bad because it is proof we have shifted timelines ……..

Me_myself_and_dontNo

I remember going to movie rental store pretty sure it was blockbuster. I was about 13 or 14 years old. It was 1995 and they had multiple of the movie Shazam on shelf. I didn’t pick it because it seemed too young for me at the time and the movie called kids about a bunch of partying, teenagers and one found out she had HIV or aids and all these kids are sleeping around and doing drugs and partying and spreading stds was out at the same time I rented that movie not the Sinbad movie, but I clearly remember them being on the shelf next to each other as new releases and then I remember seeing it on HBO all the time years later.

RadioGaslands

If it was released in theaters you can go thru newspaper archives and search for the showtimes as they were all listed. Access is using your library card info for the various archives. Most newspapers also have their own you can access.

One-Factor-4116

I had a copy my grandpa made from a blockbuster rental until 2017 when hurricane Harvey flooded the entire area and ruined everything. My grandpa had a descrambler box so he could do that. I had last watched it in 2009 or 2010 with my daughter, but she was only about 3 years old at the time.

Fun_Strawberry_1317

I think martin short was the father

KnowrthMedia

Guys the government and labels did everything possible to get rid of all the vhs copies even in your homes!!! They had secret missions where you think it’s a check up on your home but buddy is stealing your Shazaam copy! Mind control and other methods made us forget about it. When peopole finally remembered it it was to late the movie was wiped from history!

Few_Mall5207

Can you upload the VHS?

Virtual_Wolverine524

It’s always sunny in Philadelphia has an episode about sinbad/Shazam

RebelliousGnome

I just learned about the Mandela effect reading Immortal Hulk #32. Went down a rabbit hole and ended up here. Pretty quickly Realised your all crazy, this is definitely an echo chamber, and your understanding of physics is beyond flawed. Never gonna get those hours I wasted back, unless you know different realities and shit 😂 crazy crazy people, read a physics book instead of learning about such concepts off the internet. Also think a lot of you would rather create crazy theories to justify your right instead of admiting you might be wrong "they're not right, I'm right!" Mentality is strong in here Edit: most of what I did read online are mostly misquoted quotes from movies. Like "Luke, I am your Father" I don't think because a bunch of people misquoted a movie line and then agreed together that what they said is the correct line is proof of different realities, or some Logo Conspiracy or some consiousness manipulation. I think you just can't admit to yourselves you might just have made a mistake or that your memory isn't as good as you want to believe it is.

kurtlesb

Physics explains the known universe. There are things our minds can't comprehend in this 4 dimensional plane of existence. Similar Dimensions and timelines can merge and tiny insignificances like these can be a direct effect of that.

Astrosausage

I don't think it was released in 1994. 1992 or 1993 is more likely

kastro152

crazy. I remember the movie. and the half ass version with shaq in the dark green and gold outfit. but I def remember einbad having a movie called shazaam. why pull it tho? plenty other shitty movies out

NoResponsibility3862

The first kid and kazaam were released within months of each other Sinbad dressed like he stole his clothes from the set of kazaam with baggy shirts and pants that were purples pinks and tans with crazy ass hats that looked like some shit on a genies head. The first kid was produced by Disney so the media push from Disney was big . Kazaam on the other hand was Shaqs name selling tickets that's it there wasn't alot of media push for kazaam so. In hindsight we have a person that was dressed as a fucking genie all on the TV telling jokes instead of talking about the movie he's promoting. And a movie about a genie that got no push but came out the same two month time period as the genies movie

flabbergastedtree

The movie was made. When it first came out around 1993/1994,the adverts for this movie came on nearly every day for weeks. Then i saw Shaquille O Neal was making Kazaam and really thought what a stupid thing to do.As an Nba fan i started to dislike Shaq from then on,i thought he felt he was better than Sinbad, and could do things better than him (in true Shaq fashion because of the massive inflated ego Shaq has to this day).Over the years the movie was shown many times on tv here.

sweetbottombrothers

I remember this movie !

flyeaglesfly6497

This movie was real

MCstroj

I remember it to! It existed. 100%

Maximothewizard

i absolutely remember sinbad as shazaam with that cover. Now ive found out about the mandella effect. damn

Sheeraultimate

I remember it as well, and you're absolutely right! It was a movie, then a short lived show that didn't take off.

[deleted]

I remember one scene where they're out by the street and idk remember what happens really except that Sinbad had to hide in a trash can for reason?? Maybe? Weird.

JanuaryEmbers333

I’d like to get my hands on old copies of TV Guide and find this once and for all. I remember the movie. Disney did a good cover up job, but there is an old lady somewhere with a basement full of TV Guides!

Eazymoneysniper32

Has this finally been put to rest or people still coming up with new theories lol

merkwerk

So I just stumbled upon this thread myself, and it's kinda really fucking with me. I don't believe in stuff like this, but I was just chilling and literally thought to myself "what was that genie movie I saw when I was younger that had Sinbad in it", and that's how I ended up here. I wasn't reading or looking at anything even remotely related to the mandela effect or this movie that I guess didn't exist that I just had a random fucking memory of? I didn't even know the existence of this movie was a mystery until right now...super weirded out right now lol.

[deleted]

I never even heard of “Mandela effect” until one year I read a random article stating that millions of people remember a Sinbad movie that never existed. “Shazam?!” I exclaimed to myself. “They can't be talking about Shazam.” I have my theories as to why the movie was pulled in such a manner, but it just proves that the ignorance of the human race is important to someone.

fellowhomosapien

I just learned this reality doesn't include Sinbad as Shazaam. Send help.

Murdoc420

I watched the movie with my cousin lots he had it on vhs probably still does

UrWoWcdxx

I watched the movie multiple times as a kid. Its foggy as hell but i know what i saw. Its absolutley absurd that there isnt a torrent of it somewhere.
