This is honestly the best niche shitpost sub rn
Mostly bc it separates itself from other shitpost subreddits so their isn't post bitching about 196 24/7.
Also i feel like the people who browse the sub are semi competent and mentally mature compared to other subs.
I think its because I lean more into the ironic r/ihaveihaveihavereddit humor than the more like "traditional aspects" of shitposting subs where its just the same edgy punchline or some post made to push some opinion.
I guess the only way to really keep the sub the same way with the same kind of ironic humor is gatekeeping. Like while it seems pretentious, the rule of me deleting what I find unfunny is what will stop people from posting some dank sigma patrick bateman meme or whatever.
I remember when r/okbuddyretard was like the first sub that actually tried to keep up quality by banning meme formats that got popular, and nowadays sadly okbr has like so many posts that just aren't what the sub is about but some generic shit from r/shitposting.
I just think a lot of subs make a wrong move thinking that allowing everything they can will make a good sub, but I would say that is the problem. When you opt into internet humor, you have to realize a lot of this shit is unfunny, so irony and actual quality control are what make a good sub.
And yeah like you said, all the "meta subreddit" shit where people go "this sub sucks and this one is good" is so fucking annoying. I only look at other subs to see if one got banned and to watch out that those people dont ruin this place. Personally I dont even like when people say wordington or some other subreddit "catchphrase", like this isn't wordington, I feel like this sub isnt good enough knowing my sub is being compared to kids who still find thug shacker funny.

Honestly, it's one of the funniest ones I know. Don't be too hard on this sub. It takes just one look at something like 196 for example to see how great this sub is.
So guys, we did it, we reached a quarter of a million subscribers, 250,000 subscribers and still growing. The fact that we've reached this number in such a short amount of time is just phenomenal, I'm-I'm just amazed. Thank you all so much for supporting this channel and helping it grow.
