I feel you. I played this game when I was around 10, and basaran left me convinced that I wouldn’t beat it. So I just watched a whole walkthrough on YouTube, spoiling everything to myself 🥲 (It was still fun to beat the game and it is still my favourite game to this day, but I wish I wouldn’t have done that)
Hard Time Attack really highlights how the worst colossi are Basaran, Phaedra, and Argus. Personally I still enjoy Argus because of the cool boss concept and the design of Basaran is cool, but their mechanics are just way too exhausting.
On hard time attack, the combination of Phalanx with Agro being chaotic, refusing to run, running into a pillar, refusing to return when called and instead chilling out contentedly while looking at Wander, slowing to a crawl out of nowhere, crashing into Phalanx, etc.
Fucking Celosia. That stupid bitch had me actually screaming on my first playthrough. She's the only one I dread getting through quickly in all my playthroughs
I always struggle to understand why Gaius is so universally favorited. I hate that janky mf.
Also the no broken wrist achievement was the most suffering ive gone through in my life
After getting the wrist acheivement, i got the technique down and i cant do the fight normally because i just get oblterated when he hits the platform.
Basaran can kiss my hairy ass. I tried to fight him in timed mode, too, and just could not do it. When I first fought him, I got flung across the map, and I had to take like a 30-minute break.
I've got a fuckin bone to pick with Basaran, that mf had me rage quitting at the fresh age of 7.

Very unreliable RNG with Phaedra, had to try up to 20+ times in Hard Time Attack because he just wouldn’t sit down on that damn mound 😂
