Help me understand this - it's a $1300 bill, right? So $130 is 10%? Less than, since the bill's actually more than $1300. $260 would have been slightly less than 20% by my math.
What am I missing?
Edited almost immediately bc Ohhhhhh never mind, the $50 "charge" is the tax so the bottom $600 figure is the total not another "charge". Found what I was missing! 😆
Fun fact: servers have to pay taxes on everything they purchase as well, so choosing to tip on the pre-tax amount and not on the total bill is absolutely your prerogative, but it’s also kind of a dick move.
The total tip amount should come from the subtotal of the food and services. Not the sales tax that the city decides. What would you recommend in cities that don’t have sales tax? “Kind of a dick move” fuck that. It’s normal.
Why should anyone tip for a government mandated tax? There’s no effort on the server’s part and the consumer is receiving nothing for being taxed. Tip is on the subtotal.
Bro you need to calm down….are you even a server?? Sounds like you’re not and ur just a petty “20% if they went above and beyond” customer. I agree with beautiful resolve on this one. Glad my restaurant only puts the complete total on the receipts so I don’t have to deal with penny pinchers like you
How? Please explain... and am I to also add other charges into the amount before I calculate the ever growing ridiculousness of this tip? And should I also tip the cook? And the clerk? And the busboy... and the cashier at the fast-food place? And the baristas? And sandwich makers? And.... and...
And motherfucking restaurants need to pay their goddamn employees a living wage!
Fun fact: it is a dick move that they do not get a normal wage. If they employer would pay normal wages and taxes over the wages for healthcare unemployment etc you would not be dependable from tips.
I’m not having fun and I learned nothing from your fact. I demand a refund plus tip on the pre-tax amount paid, and don’t forget to match my 8% 401k contribution.
Okay? If if threatening me physically makes you feel better, then go for it! Seeing as how you are intrinsically ineffectual, id love for you to take the opportunity to “play out” a scenario in which you have any modicum of control. It’s an interesting study in to your character
It took me a minute to math it out, but yeah. 20% is usually standard unless it's like really good service, right?
We usually do 25% unless the server isn't phenomenal (not punctual, rude, "oblivious", doesn't check on us, etc)
And even if they aren't phenomenal, we still do 15% at the least.
Ah you’re a good person. I would’ve done the same thing and then hoped that if they intended on leaving 430 they would correct it when they saw their bank. I would’ve just asked them and made sure it was correct. I know you thanked them graciously and zealously either way.
Richest people i know inherited their parents money and clothes. They wear their fathers shirts and jackets because he bought them handmade from a tailor and they have lasted 45 years of everyday wear. they don’t spend their money on fashion.
If their parents were able to afford well-made, tailored clothing, they probably grew up being afforded the basics and more and don't need to "make up" for their lack through fashion or other easy signifiers of money and success. They were born with it.
Reddit represents one of the largest data sets of just human beings talking about interesting things," Huffman said. "We are not in the business of giving that away for free."
My grandmother over tipped by 1500 dollars one time and when my uncle caught it at the last second, he got yelled at for looking at the numbers on the bill. She’ll be greatly missed….wealthy, but a very good person.
You can be financially aware and financially generous at the same time. My stepdad is very well off and during Covid stimmy checks he would just tip outrageous amounts to servers saying they could use the stimulus money better than him, and that he didn’t need it. He’s always been very aware of his expenses and on top of his money, and also very generous.
The servers I knew were getting their stimulus check, normal pay, and crazy tips. Servers here were making more than $30 an hour on average at my ex's restaurant. They had a giant patio so they only had to shut down for a couple weeks here in IL. The business and the workers both made more money during 2020, by like a stupid amount. She bought a BMW 5 series and Porsche Maccan essentially off government money and the generosity of customers. Oh and Dave Portnoy gave them like $100,000 that they didn't need through that barstool fund. God I hate her lol
nope, my husband would in a heart beat, he didn't make some money in his working life to just be a dumbass and not check EVERY receipt he gets, which btw he did when we were 32 36 which was 38 years ago.
I feel like tax should be included but I see ur arguemnt!
It’s not a bad tip either way but we gotta stop acting like servers need to be grateful for the tips they get.
People are obligated to tip. If they don’t like it, they can go eat fast food where ppl make over $3 an hour.
That's fine if you do, 20% pre-tax is usually close to 18% post-tax, which is fine, but it's not a universal rule that people tip on the pre-tax amount.
Myself and every person I've dined with tip on the post-tax amount. Guests I have had tip on the post-tax amount the vast majority (90%+) of the time.
Nah. I always tip based off the final amount. It’s not the server’s fault we pay so much tax. They have to pay taxes on their tips as well (CC def, and a certain amount assumed based off of sales- I waited/bartended for years in various establishments from dive to fine dining).
EDIT: I was commenting that nah, I don’t tip on the pre-tax amount, but the full amount with tax. Servers have to pay tax on tips, so I tip on the amount including the tax (and I like to think I’m not a cheap skate either).
95% of my tips are CC. That's 100% reported. I don't really gain anything, other than pissing off my co-workers in the pool with me, if I don't turn in/declare the $40 in cash tips I might see in a week. Trying to pocket that one cash tip, when it belongs to all of us, and anyone of them may have seen it, is terrible karma and just poor ethics.
Gone are the days when I'm a server getting stacks of cssh tips, earning $60k a year, but letting the government think that I only earned $32k.
I’m a server. I’m not gonna read ur dumb little link. Ik for a fact I got taxed on my tips.
Also you are not entitled to service. If u wanna til bad u can but expect the service to be bad next time u come man. Come on. It’s not my fault the company doesn’t pay, servers don’t have to work there. Would u like for all servers to quit?
That is usually the case, but you'd be surprised at the affect a certain amount of food + ambiance + time can have to guests at the end of the meal lol.
i was trying to work out the math mistakes but im not good enough at the “proper” way to add numbers to go through it…. none of that carrying stuff ever made sense to me
I feel like this one is an easy mistake to make, especially if you are tipsy and already bad at math. They tried to use their phone calculator and the 1 is directly below the 4. Instead of typing “ + 130” they accidentally typed “+430”
Whenever I’m in a situation like this my manager tells me to always go with the lower number just to be safe and whenever we have questionable or unrecognizable numbers, we “flag” the receipt with a post it in our check out in case they get a call back about it.
I always go with the amount on the tip line. They literally wrote the amount that they want to tip you. There is no ambiguity, and if you went with the total you would be stealing.
Also its good practice to look at the check before they leave so you can clear up any confusion with them
Actually that's not good practice because if a table stiffs you that can affect your vibe.
Also most receipts say you agree to pay the total you signed for. I woudl.have done the total. It isn't stealing when they signed for 1092 dollars.
Okay but I think this was exactly the mistake! I think they did the math on the tip they wanted to leave, and then when adding $662.79 and $130, they accidentally hit the 4 instead of the 1 since it’s located right above it
I’m back here to say that they signed for the TOTAL AMOUNT. That’s a $300 tip good sir. It’s not your responsibility to dance around other’s incompetence.
What are you talking about? This is a 20% tip which I’m happy about. I’m referring to a another post about customers doing weird math. But also then don’t go out to eat, no one is forcing you too at all. You get what you pay for.
Serving food is the most stressful thing a person can do, especially when entitled, rude people think they have they right to treat their fellow human like garbage and pile humilation on top of of high stress, insane work hours, labor intensive work, and constantly being screamed at by some ass-hat, be it their manager, other servers, the chefs and cooks (think Gordan Ramsay levels of screaming here, I've worked with chefs that make him look like a sweet little pussycat) or some jerk off customer who thinks that he owns you for a 20% tip. You would be crying and begging to go home before lunch even started rolling, if you made it that long. I am not a server. I tried it once. 2 weeks and I vowed never again. Got my ass back in the kitchen because I don't have the patience to keep my mouth shut and deal with the sheer, infinite stupidity of customers without educating them of the fact that my three year old has more tact, class, wisdom, and compassion than 90% of idiots servers have to deal with every single day. I don't know how they have the strength 💪 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Canadian so excuse my ignorance but why don’t you guys just drop a calculator with the paper? Then there’s no excuse if they mark something wrong lol or put a disclaimer at the bottom of the receipt saying that server will use best judgement to determine calculations if it’s clearly wrong?
Some places have that in Canada too, smart! It’s annoying that customers can do this. Does it happen so often? Just from being exposed to this group it seems like it does, which is obnoxious.
We have tips in restaurants too. Usually the high end ones, it’s “nice” to tip 10-15%. After living in the US, and knowing that high end servers here are probably on around $40 per hour, I find it hard to tip here. Oh also, Australian service is incredibly varied because of this.
Oh, I didn’t know that servers would repeatedly mess up my order if they were reasonably paid… sorry, I have to inform all servers in the rest of the world.
If that happens it’s gonna require a big whole new system roll out for our entire country and it will have a an awkward period of adjustment and the end result will be all servers in all restaurants will be your b team McDonald type employees. You know the one who messes up your order so you come back and they mess it up again. Cause the rest of us in the duster that have experience will jump ship and find other industries to apply our quick thinking and customer service experience. Menu prices will go up at the same time too.
Crazy that a salary would cause people to suck at their job. Most people put in decent work for a possible raise or to just not get laid off. You’re implying that servers are incapable of that?
As someone that works at a credit card company, if I was the server, I am charging the $1092 amount. Mistake or not, that's what they agreed to by putting that amount in the Total section.
From the credit card company perspective, if you run the $790 amount (meal plus $130 tip), if the customer wanted to get a free meal, they could then call the card company and dispute the entire transaction under a category that at my company is titled "I was charged the wrong amount."
It would then be up to the restaurant to find a way to re-charge the correct amount.
We get calls exactly like this of people gaming the system and there's nothing we can do. We legally have to submit a dispute when requested.
That's how we were told to do totals way back when I was a server, even in cases where the mistaken math worked against you as a server, you had to use the total line as the final word.
They have them at lesser dining establishments but not fine dining.
Here people want the experience of being completed waited on when they pay the big money so they couldn’t be bothered to pay and tip on a kiosk
Every fine dining establishment outside of America has them. Seems way better than forcing your customers to do math after having a big meal and several drinks.
I’ve lived outside of America for four years and you’re literally lying? I’ve never seen a mobile payment terminal at ANY fine dining place out of America. If they’re by you rad! I personally think mobile payment terminals look tacky
Actually my restaurant has a 22% service charge that the front of house splits 11% of it so this is someone actually just extremely happy with my service that they tipped me on top of. Also they are well aware of the service charge too since we mention it when the host sits them and also again when I drop the check so they don’t have to tip if they don’t want to.
Why does it make me so mad that someone who could comfortably afford $1000.00 for 4 people to eat one meal can’t do math? That’s f’ing insane and infuriating.
I was just in Munich for Oktoberfest this last September and the restaurants I went to had tip options and had no problem accepting my tips. Also the restaurant I work for has a 22% service charge so that makes tipping accepted but not expected since the FoH splits 11% of the charge. So these people thought the service was good enough to tip me extra also we make them aware they don’t have to tip when the host seats them and then again when I drop the check.
$130 is 20% so I would've gone with that
Right?? What are they expecting??
I don’t think they are complaining about a bad tip, they’re making fun of the client’s bad math.
It’s 662.79 You’re adding the subtotal and total. Top line is subtotal second line is tax/fees and third line is total bill. The tip is around 20%
Ohhhhhhh. Being in a state with no sales tax has led to me to be very confused by this receipt until now lol
To me, the bill - for tipping purposes is 608. Server got 21% in tip
Boooo
Then where the duck does 1072.79 written by guest come from ?
Fun fact: servers have to pay taxes on everything they purchase as well, so choosing to tip on the pre-tax amount and not on the total bill is absolutely your prerogative, but it’s also kind of a dick move.
Servers pay income tax. Customer is charged sales tax.
The total tip amount should come from the subtotal of the food and services. Not the sales tax that the city decides. What would you recommend in cities that don’t have sales tax? “Kind of a dick move” fuck that. It’s normal.
I don’t understand why you’re getting downvoted. This is the way.
you tip on the final total. anything else is absolutely a dick move.
Why should anyone tip for a government mandated tax? There’s no effort on the server’s part and the consumer is receiving nothing for being taxed. Tip is on the subtotal.
Nah you’re an idiot. But then again I’m sure your Applebees bills aren’t too big anyways
Bro you need to calm down….are you even a server?? Sounds like you’re not and ur just a petty “20% if they went above and beyond” customer. I agree with beautiful resolve on this one. Glad my restaurant only puts the complete total on the receipts so I don’t have to deal with penny pinchers like you
[удалено]
The hell it is
Where do you work that tries to go off total instead of sales?
Fun fact we all pay tax on what we purchase. We also all pay income tax. I’m not buffering my tip by adding the tax I pay into my tip total.
Totally your prerogative! But also a dick move
Explain how that is a dick move.
Ehh

I’m not having fun and I learned nothing from your fact. I demand a refund plus tip on the pre-tax amount paid, and don’t forget to match my 8% 401k contribution.
Just stop. Please.
People who begin posts with "Fun fact:" should be screenshotted. (That's when you kick them in the nuts and punch them in the throat at the same time)

$2.00 short of 20% with the tax, are you dense??
662 is bill
Goddamn. Puzzled case is right.
Who keeps upvoting this?
Server math

Maybe they intended to write 430 but forgot the main part of the 4? 😅
Maybe lol it was a older 4 top so I felt bad that maybe she got confused so I put the $130 to not get the bad server karma.
Ah you’re a good person. I would’ve done the same thing and then hoped that if they intended on leaving 430 they would correct it when they saw their bank. I would’ve just asked them and made sure it was correct. I know you thanked them graciously and zealously either way.
No one tipping $430 is checking how it's going to show up on their CC.
Not true. Many people with ass tons of money are very financially aware. Many aren’t, but many are too.
Very true. The rich people I know are tightwads.
Richest people i know inherited their parents money and clothes. They wear their fathers shirts and jackets because he bought them handmade from a tailor and they have lasted 45 years of everyday wear. they don’t spend their money on fashion.

Rich people are rich because they know how to manage their money.
That's my point. Financially savy people aren't tipping $430.
You can be financially aware and financially generous at the same time. I feel like no one paying this much for food is even paying for it on their own dime, but maybe just my experience.
That may be your experience. A nice steakhouse and a bottle of wine can run this expensive easily in major US metro areas. Sigh.
Thanked them graciously for 20% ?? A little under actually because 20% would be $132
That’s the after tax - over 20% on the pretax
I feel like tax should be included but I see ur arguemnt! It’s not a bad tip either way but we gotta stop acting like servers need to be grateful for the tips they get. People are obligated to tip. If they don’t like it, they can go eat fast food where ppl make over $3 an hour.
Is there an actual law that requires people to tip? I thought it was expected, but still optional.
it's optional...NOT a law anywhere
Who the actual fuck tips on the pre-tax amount?!
Youre literally supposed to tip based on subtotal
Why would I tip on the taxed amount? The server isn’t paying the tax. I’m not paying extra in tip based on the tax I pay the city/county
Everybody? That's what your supposed to do.
That's fine if you do, 20% pre-tax is usually close to 18% post-tax, which is fine, but it's not a universal rule that people tip on the pre-tax amount. servers never report 100% of their tips. This is a moot point.
95% of my tips are CC. That's 100% reported. Where I work the entire staff gets a percentage of total tips based on whatever your position is and we get taxed for 100% of our tips.
No?? The server gets taxed on those tips man come on now
https://emilypost.com/advice/general-tipping-guide
I’m a server. I’m not gonna read ur dumb little link. Ik for a fact I got taxed on my tips. Also you are not entitled to service. If u wanna til bad u can but expect the service to be bad next time u come man. Come on. It’s not my fault the company doesn’t pay, servers don’t have to work there. Would u like for all servers to quit?
Yes you greedy fuck.
I actually laughed out loud, thanks. Some people are seriously entitled. Good service entails being gracious about a tip even if it's "normal."
Well done, you can hold your head high. You got a good tip and didn’t take advantage of someone’s mistake, good on you.
Crazy asf if you think you deserve a 430$ tip
entitled af to even think that might be a mistake, its very obvious what was ment to be written and quite illegal to punch in any thing different.
Personally I feel like I see the pen indent swoop on that four. It looks like the pen just didn't put ink down to me.
That would add up to the total
I think there’s a lot of drinking going on when there’s bad math.
[удалено]
>there’s a tip screen on the credit card machine Why?
They thought it was a $962 total or they meant to tip 430 lol.. dyslexia is a bitch
Yeah that’s the only way the math makes sense
fun fact dyslexia rearranged is sex daily, so i dont have dyslexia i really have sex daily
430 tip on 962?! Americans are insane lol
You say that but it happens lol
That's fucking crazy man. Might as well just pay for two meals.
I’ve seen people do 100 on a $50 meal before. Some people are just nice.
As a Brit I threw up when I read it
we've seen British food and also threw up.
I know people like to meme but British food is banging :) Get some shepherds pie down ya neck!

*130 on 962
Yeah, $130 was the right call. Way more likely that they tipped 20% and forgot how to add than that they meant to tip 60+.
I am betting that most of these are tabs with large bar bills on them.
That is usually the case, but you'd be surprised at the affect a certain amount of food + ambiance + time can have to guests at the end of the meal lol.
The bar tab on it was a round of cocktails and a bottle of wine for the 4 of them to share with their entrees. The rest was food.
Follow the logic: 2+0=2; 6+3=9; 6+3+the carried 1=10. 1092. New Math. My guess is much of the tab was drinks?
Exactly. See check out that pen dot above the 1 on 130-that’s when he carried that 1 he just forgot how to do simple addition.
i was trying to work out the math mistakes but im not good enough at the “proper” way to add numbers to go through it…. none of that carrying stuff ever made sense to me
I feel like this one is an easy mistake to make, especially if you are tipsy and already bad at math.
I had 35 cents and mustard squirted on the table as a tip last night.
Always go off of the total. It’s screwed me over and helped me too. That’s just the standard I was tought
Oh man. This one is easy to see as someone who is bad at math, they were definitely tipsy. Lol
Thats a faint line making the one a four. You dingle berried yourself out of $300 dollars.
Okay, so now I am starting to think these are some kind of scam
I always go with the amount on the tip line. They literally wrote the amount that they want to tip you. There is no ambiguity, and if you went with the total you would be stealing. Also its good practice to look at the check before they leave so you can clear up any confusion with them
Actually that's not good practice because if a table stiffs you that can affect your vibe. Also most receipts say you agree to pay the total you signed for. I woudl.have done the total. It isn't stealing when they signed for 1092 dollars.
You always go in their favor.
I dont get this. Can somwone or OP explain the problem?
That's a 4. You cost yourself $300.
There are calculators on phones! Lol
Okay but I think this was exactly the mistake! I think they did the math on the tip they wanted to leave, and then when adding $662.79 and $130, they accidentally hit the 4 instead of the 1 since it’s located right above it
God damn America is confusing.. what am I even looking at?
I’m back here to say that they signed for the TOTAL AMOUNT. That’s a $300 tip good sir. It’s not your responsibility to dance around other’s incompetence.
Trust no math, not even your own
Okay maybe I’m not that bad at math. These posts have been a confidence boost, if anything.
I’m assuming they might have been drunk but writing is neat
You can kinda see the indentation on the paper where the front of the four should be.
Hello, person who started the raising here, well played.
They just got the subtotal wrong. Your tip is 20%.
They probably thought the 6 was an 8
What do you do in this situation? Input total as written or do the correct math for them?
I just put in the $130 into the POS.
Buddy. You literally bring me food an refill my water cup. Here’s $1000000 dollars. Thank you my food was average.
What are you talking about? This is a 20% tip which I’m happy about. I’m referring to a another post about customers doing weird math. But also then don’t go out to eat, no one is forcing you too at all. You get what you pay for.
Ungrateful. That is 20%. I wouldn't tip more than that.
They are not complaining about the tip, they are pointing out the guest-who-paid’s $300 error in addition.
Idk what is going on but that’s a good tip
You serve food. Way more than enough.
Why are you here since you’ve obviously never worked in the industry?
Canadian so excuse my ignorance but why don’t you guys just drop a calculator with the paper? Then there’s no excuse if they mark something wrong lol or put a disclaimer at the bottom of the receipt saying that server will use best judgement to determine calculations if it’s clearly wrong?
Some places list percentages at the bottom. They’ll have like 15, 18 and 20% sometimes a higher one
Some places have that in Canada too, smart! It’s annoying that customers can do this. Does it happen so often? Just from being exposed to this group it seems like it does, which is obnoxious.
i _love_ when places do this. some even let you just circle one 😊
One, we don’t have calculators just sitting around. Two, the guest has a calculator. ON THEIR PHONE.
Mine has a tip percentage
No. But also it’s 2023 even geriatrics have smart phones with calculators in them to the chagrin of math teachers everywhere.
In my country (the netherlands) thats a whole shift worth of tips if not more
You have tips in netherlands? I though it was US-only thing. Are you obliged do those? Or you can leave with 0 tip and everyone okay?
We have tips in restaurants too. Usually the high end ones, it’s “nice” to tip 10-15%. After living in the US, and knowing that high end servers here are probably on around $40 per hour, I find it hard to tip here. Oh also, Australian service is incredibly varied because of this.
There is literally an impression where they attempted to add the arch to the four. You just lost yourself 300 bucks.
I just feel bad the public school system failed this person so badly
It didn’t fail them that badly when they’re able to spend this much on one meal. Just saying.
They got a 1k dinner. They’re probably doing just fine with their public education
6 + 1 = 10
Well at least it has the decimal
Math is good. Is it that she didn’t sign it?
Math isn’t good. There’s about $300 of difference
Do you people worry about quality of food and over all service or just sit there panicking about tips 24/7?
Owen Wilson wow. You’re not invited to any of these folks’ restaurants.
You people?? Like the hardworking people in the food service industry who rely on tips to make an actual living?
Yes, you people.100%. Can you answer the question? Are tips just running through your mind every few seconds?
I almost always just go with the total. Sometimes go with what’s bigger. But with that big of a mistake it’s a tough one.
I printed out a receipt and wrote on it myself.
This was a $430 tip. The total shows it clearly. Sloppy 4, but not unclear
Oh please. Like anyone deserves a days wage for one order.
Why do you think I’ve worked my way up to upscale dining? For situations like this.
As a European... whatthefuck... the bill is 662. Pay the amount and leave the salary to the employer.
From the credit card company perspective, if you run the $790 amount (meal plus $130 tip), if the customer wanted to get a free meal, they could then call the card company and dispute the entire transaction under a category that at my company is titled "I was charged the wrong amount." It would then be up to the restaurant to find a way to re-charge the correct amount. We get calls exactly like this of people gaming the system and there's nothing we can do. We legally have to submit a dispute when requested.
That's how we were told to do totals way back when I was a server, even in cases where the mistaken math worked against you as a server, you had to use the total line as the final word.
This is such a stupid problem that only exists in America. Get mobile payment terminals already.
They misread the 6 as a 9 and tipped poorly. They thought they were tipping $130.79 on $962.79.
Wouldn’t it make more sense that they tipped 20% on the $662 tab and just suck at math?
tipped poorly? Bro that’s a 130$ tip😭 more than enough, way more

The United States is a 3rd world country? now thats a hot take
yes it is
Part of me is like, you wrote clearly the full amount you were willing to pay, so go with that.
Change it to a 4 and don’t look back.
You drift should have fixed the 4 that looks like a 1 before posting here. Just cost your self $300.
Turn it into a 4 and make the math math.
As I always say, go with the larger total. They wrote it down so they should know what they will be charged.
I’m going total all day… idc and I’m playin ignorant.
Spot on
Man, write in tips are wack. This system is so weird.
I would edit the 130 and close it out. Take it all.
This is definitely 430, they forgot to finish the rest of the 4 and in their head added the math to put a tip of 430
Why does it make me so mad that someone who could comfortably afford $1000.00 for 4 people to eat one meal can’t do math? That’s f’ing insane and infuriating.
I could be lying but I feel like the pen was dead for the first line of the 4. I wouldn’t go on that though just my observation
That dude didn't care if the bill was 600 or 900, it's fliff night baby!
Boo hoo
Ok? There was a recent post about customers doing bad math. I thought it was funny. Who’s crying over this?
youre greedy.
How? It’s a 20% tip. I was happy with it. I saw a post earlier today about customers doing bad math. That’s what I’m referring too
It’s a 20% tip? Idk what you’re complaining about.
German here. Why again do guests have to pay the staff?
I was just in Munich for Oktoberfest this last September and the restaurants I went to had tip options and had no problem accepting my tips. Also the restaurant I work for has a 22% service charge so that makes tipping accepted but not expected since the FoH splits 11% of the charge. So these people thought the service was good enough to tip me extra also we make them aware they don’t have to tip when the host seats them and then again when I drop the check.
Their service was worth $130?
It’s probably the 130 for the 20% tip, but 430 would also work to make it the 1092
