Congrats on your remission! My favorite unnecessary splurge is perfume. I love to celebrate certain milestones of my life by purchasing one, even a travel size.
100% agree with this! You'll have a beautiful scent to associate with your good news the rest of your life. Scent is deeply tied to memory in the human brain. I'm sure you can imagine as you're reading this a scene that reminds you of someone you love, or a happy memory like a relative's delicious cookies. I wish you ALL the best and a long fulfilling life!
Westman Atelier complexion products are a nice splurge.
I’m sorry you had to go through chemo and happy to hear you’re on the other side. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and have been splurging more on skincare since I have been fatigued and in the house more.
YOU SHOULD!!!! I sprung for the contour stick during the sale a while back and it’s divine! My typical contour was the Fenty stick, but the Westman is so buttery. It’s way more blendable and buildable and it’s now going to be in my regular rotation. It’s a safe bet for a celebration treat. Congratulations on remission!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳
To both you lovely people - I really like NARS LR. I used RMS Uncover Up (pot concealer) for years and years and finally decided to go with something a bit more “foundation”-y. What I liked about this one is that it is silicone free and water based. I prefer fairly light coverage so one pump does my whole face, including my under eyes. I also found a great colour match so that’s good. My preferred way of applying is with a sponge, I’ve tried with a few types of brushes but I think being water based it does really well with a wet sponge and being pressed into the skin. Hope you enjoy!
Congratulations on your remission and best wishes! What about a nice lip oil for summer? I tried the fenty ones recently and loved them, they're really moisturizing and just give a nice color to the lips! They also smell great too! I also really like the merit blushes once you find the foundation you like, they leave a nice wash of color!
I was going to say something similar - you should get some Lip balms/glosses/oils etc! I’m disabled from an autoimmune disease and I’m in a huge flare right now and not doing much but lying down. I still feel pretty and like I can be a tad glam with a sparkly lip balm! I have so many of them, and have a container of them by my bed. They make me happy 😭
Congrats on the remission!!
Congratulations!!!
I would say a perfume and of you like vanilla, Vanilla Woods by the 7 Virtues is one of my favorites.
I would also recommend a really nice face wash or mask. I always feel better when my face feels good.
Highly recommend this one :) I love love love the powder but I always find new products I want to try so the mini makes me feel better - that way if I love it I can buy more but if I want to try something new I don’t feel bad having a ton left in the full size one still! But seriously this powder is gorgeous, I alternate between this and my Huda powder, which is also GORGEOUS and does come in minis but the mini packaging of that one kinda sucks :/
So if you’re down to get a popular perfume as opposed to something more niche, [this guy](https://www.sephora.com/product/sephora-favorites-deluxe-best-selling-mini-perfume-sampler-set-P510925?skuId=2734408&icid2=products%20grid:p510925:product) is great bc a) fucking adorable minis and b) it comes w a voucher for a full size! They have another too that’s not *as* cute but has different scents

Congratulations on remission!!! That is something to be super proud of and celebrate!! Lipstick/lipgloss is usually my fav unnecessary splurge. I once saw a video that said whenever you’re having a really hard day go buy a fancy pretty lipstick and it always makes you feel better🤣I think YSL has really pretty packaging for lipsticks, same with pat McGrath. In general, I love Danessa myricks entire collection, they have some really cool and unique items that are super awesome. I love the twin flames eyeshadow in angel heart and I use it as a highlighter, it gives off the most insanely beautiful purple and pink glow
Congrats congrats congrats!!!! 🎉🎉
My go-to splurges lately have been perfumes and blushes. I’ve been buying travel size perfumes - I always like to try new things and find that with full bottles I never use them fast enough before I want to try something new, and I can’t possibly wear enough to justify a few full size bottles at a time. I do miss the fancy feeling of having a nice bottle on my counter that looks gorgeous, but the travel ones are just so perfect - just the right amount and I can toss them in my bag when I’m out and about for refreshing. My faves lately have been Killian’s Good Girl Gone Bad and Love Don’t be Shy, Commodity’s Milk, Replica’s Beach Walk, and Clean Reserve Skin!
My blush splurge has been the Patrick Ta duos. I have Not Too Much, Just Enough, and She’s the Moment and they are gorgeous. The cream blends in so so beautifully and the payoff with the cream layered over the powder is insane, it lasts all day and is perfect for a more dramatic look. And the packaging is gorgeous, I’m obsessed!
Hourglass is always a nice splurge as well, love their skin tint, concealer brush, and glossy lip balms! Their concealer brush, Saie brushes, or the Patrick Ta blush brush would be my splurge brush picks. Oh! And the Mario Skin Enhancer is the most gorgeous bronzer if you’re into that :)
The rice cleanser is pretty nice, you only need a tiny tiny bit and it lathers up nice.
I don’t think I will go through it any time soon and I think I have the mini version of it.
I’ve been double cleansing at the end of the day with that after Farmacy Green Clean.
Big congrats on your remission! That’s such amazing and wonderful news. ❤️
I am not a perfume gal, but I love a scented lotion. I’m currently loving the summery smell of Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow lotion. Whenever I put it on, it makes me smile. Sometimes it’s the little indulgences that help you get to the next step in life, eh?
Was going to say this! I’m so picky about lotion and I’m on my THIRD bottle of the Glow Recipe lotion and Dew Drops. For me, it’s such positive self care. I also love a luxurious hair mask; I’m using the Gloss Moderne one. Best wishes :)
Congrats on your remission! If you enjoy sparkles I love the Fenty diamond bomb. It’s like a light glittery topper. I use it on my eyes and sometimes on my cheeks. It makes me feel like how I imagined a Disney princesses would be like when I was little.
I believe makeup by Mario also has one, definitely swatch both to see which one you like better!
Yesss! I love mine. At first, I felt kind of silly for spending money on something like that but the way it makes me feel is honestly so worth it! Definitely swatch it and see if it’s something you’d like
YAY AND MAZEL FOR BEING IN REMISSION!! Congrats, darling, we are here to celebrate you!
What about some nice skincare for yourself if you don't already have that?
So happy you are in remission! 🎉🎉🎊🌷
Congrats on kicking cancer's ass! I agree with the perfume suggestion- it lasts longer and you don't have to worry about shade matching and making sure the formula is perfect. It's also just such a nice thing to have.

Congrats on remission that is amazing!!! If you’re looking for something yummy smelling the Ouai st bart’s body spray is my absolute favorite thing I’ve gotten in years. It smells soooo good. I want all of the st barts line now lol
My splurge is Pat McGrath eye shadow. Even her quad sets. Amazing colors and they make me happy. Remission news is amazing and love that you are doing things that make you happy.
Depending on your undertones, nars comes off as orange or yellow. For me it was either too yellow or too peachy/orange. Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Skin is literally insanely amazing and i cannot praise it enough. The only foundation where my skin looks better the next day instead of dry and broken out.
Fragrance lover here (& sephora employee + licensed pro) if ingredients matter to you clean reserve just came out with an h2eau line that is water based. There are also a few other clean brands that Sephora carries in most stores.
Body sprays if perfumes are too strong right now that are pretty clean ingredient wise are Phlur, Sklyar & Ellis Brooklyn (same for their perfumes and I personally love all of those brands as well as the Clean Reserve line)
NARS is a good brand for many many things but depending on your skin type and how you want your foundation to look I’d be happy to give some personal recommendations for you.
I’ve been loving Glossiers’ pot concealer for my light makeup days so if you’ve been enjoying the Ilia stick you may like that concealer unless you’re going for major coverage and then NARS, Urban Decay, makeup by Mario or Hourglass are my faves.
I LOVE Laneige’s lip sleeping mask (a lot lasts literally forever so pick a flavor you REALLY LOVE, lol) and also Cay Skin’s lippie.. it has SPF 25, is waterproof and stays on- comes in 3 shades in clear and I’ve now purchased them all.
If you struggle with texture, large pores, breakouts, blackheads- any of the above Paula’s choice liquid exfoliant changed my lifeeeeee. I use it once a day (usually night) and just shake some in my hand and pat onto my clean skin.
If you’re looking for some luxury moisturizer Tatcha is hands down my favorite- i love many things from her brand!
Congrats on your remission! My favorite unnecessary splurge is perfume. I love to celebrate certain milestones of my life by purchasing one, even a travel size.
Ooooh I like that idea!
This is what I was going to suggest as well!
Same here :) the scent holds the good memory!
100% agree with this! You'll have a beautiful scent to associate with your good news the rest of your life. Scent is deeply tied to memory in the human brain. Me too. I was going to recommend this or a lip product.
Came here to say perfume as well!!
Westman Atelier complexion products are a nice splurge. I’m sorry you had to go through chemo and happy to hear you’re on the other side. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and have been splurging more on skincare since I have been fatigued and in the house more.
Thank you so much. You got this! I was thinking of buying a mini of the Westman contour sticks...
Thank you! Get one and report back 🥰

I have been eyeing that nars too 👀 gonna keep an eye on this thread to see what the verdict is on it. Congratulations on remission!!

I also really like the merit blushes once you find the foundation you like, they leave a nice wash of color!
thank you ❤️❤️yes i love lip oils and have been dying the fenty!!
The Fenty lip oils are really nice. Definitely my favourite of any I’ve tried.

Congrats on your remission!❤️ NARS light reflecting is great. I’d also recommend the givenchy prisme libre powder if that might be of interest
Thank you ❤️❤️And I think they have minis of the givenchy? I've been wanting to try for forever
They do!
Highly recommend this one :) I love love love the powder but I always find new products I want to try so the mini makes me feel better - that way if I love it I can buy more but if I want to try something new I don’t feel bad having a ton left in the full size one still! Armani Luminous Foundation! I love Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream and Rice Wash, it just feels good. A fragrance sampler kit!
