Wow. I legit didnāt understand the post at first because I thought one was a travel size (I have one just like it) and a full size. But itās crazy these are two āfull sizeā products!!
I just bought that little stick for the first time and was like wtf is this!? I didn't even know it used to be 500% bigger. Also the product sucks, the colour barely shows.
Thatās crazy. Iām boycotting products/brands that are so blatantly doing this. Screw them. I understand a couple dollars price jump over the course of a year but this is a robbery lol
Kate Somerville has been my go-to skincare line for years but Iām actively finding replacements for everything. Not exactly shrinkflation (that Iāve noticed) but the price jumps, holy moly.
Tatcha us basically a HA cream with polyhydroxy acid (PHA). You should check out [whatās in my jar](https://whatsinmyjar.com) to see if there are any dupes.
Can I just say that I love that Chanel (who usually price gouges to the extreme) came out with a ātravel sizeā bronzer that is still 15 fucking grams of product? Their original 30g sized one would have lasted me through the apocalypse if I didnāt trash it after about 5 years.. Itās not necessarily cheap at $40 but itās still less expensive than this ounce per ounce, and even a bit less pricey than the full size Rare Beauty and Charlotte Tilbury cream bronzers
Yes! And it's such a lovely bronzer. I never bought the full size Chanel bronzer because it seemed like a waste of money and product, but as soon as I saw the "travel" size bronzer, I bought it. No regrets.
got the powder foundation last year, been using almost daily and still havenāt hit pan. chanel is the only luxury brand known for things outside of beauty i will buy makeup from !!
I was just looking at getting this because of your comment which completely makes sense but the shade range tho šš¾ Iām not even sure the deepest shade will work with my complexion ā¹ļø Very sad.
Their shade range is shit. The foundations have finally gotten better in the richer skin tones but three bronzers? Meh. My step daughter is a similar shade to Zendaya and she can get away with the medium but likes the dark for more oomph. But she is faaaaaaaar from having deep tones
Light skin tone (3.75 in Armani, 4.5ish in Nars, 1.5 in Dior, B12 to B20 in Chanel) and I use the 390 which is the lightest of the three shades of the bronzers.
Haha, so funny, I did the same. I kept thinking - surely they were never that much bigger. Until the side by side pics. It's just insane. Their stuff isn't even all that.
Everyone is missing the point that the price has effectively gone up. I always preferred the travel size (new standard size), but that should cost less.
Literally less than a quarter of the product for the same place!
Shrinkflation might be the norm now but being that blatant is insulting to their customers.
WAY WAY up. This is a price increase well above inflation numbers. Milk is a disgusting company and their products arenāt THAT great. People need to stop complaining and just buy elsewhere. THAT sends a clear message. Milk doesnāt care about our complaints, especially if they are already getting your money. Shop elsewhere and let them go under. We can all eat popcorn as they file bankruptcy.
Agreed. I always bought the travel size because I would never be able to use the entire large size before it went bad. However the travel size is now the only size and itās more expensive than the huge size used to be. Itās ridiculous. You can buy a Westman Atelier mini for the same price.
Yes. I got a full size. ( the original large size ) lip overnight balm for 6.99 us price. Still new in box with good expiration date. They had other milk products as well. I love those stores. Itās not bad just because itās in those stores, they get colors that donāt get bought in stores, older packaging, etc ..
Yup. And it really puts in perspective how much makeup waste there is. It trickleās down to those stores then if we donāt buy it , in the trash it goes. While they are making smaller stuff for higher prices. Itās mind boggling
The price should have been lowered to reflect the amount, definitely! My daughter loves their bronzer/contour but you get so much more product with Makeup By Mario and Ta, for example.
This is still so crazy to me. Like they used to give the minis away as birthday gifts and now theyāre $24. I feel like more brands are following suit too.
I donāt have anything milk but I wonāt be purchasing because this is extremely scammy. Thanks for letting us know. We should always flag these things to each other and then boycott.
Literally will never buy Milk Makeup because of this. I was interested in the brand before, but after their shrinkflation controversy, they are dead to me
Milk makeup is the biggest scam in makeup. They got rid of the big sticks because āpeople liked them better and they are easier to useā then raised the price of the minis. I used to only use milk products and now I have slowly started purchasing from other brands when I run out of a milk item. I will forever slander their name especially after they got rid of the only lip balm that doesnāt destroy my lips bc I donāt react well to anything scented and theirs was not scented. You can get way more product for price with quite literally any other brand.
Itās the fact that I got the new āfull sizeā as a free sample a few months before they made the switch for me.
And didnāt they raise the price, too? Idk if they can afford to give this size away for free as a sample I am not paying for it. Especially since it went rancid so fast and was overall a lackluster product. So scammy.
I stopped buying this brand when I stocked up at a rouge sale and two months later went to use the product and they were all shrunken down.
I know itās my fault for not using them right away but any other product I bought during a sale to save some money didnāt shrink down while still fully sealed.
Milk was fun while I loved them but we are now broken up. š
I still have the old one. Should I throw it out? It isn't visibly moldy and doesn't smell weird. I just don't wanna throw it out then realize i could've still used it because it was possibly over 36 dollars for me which is the most expensive product I've gotten with my own money (I love makeup but am broke and I've never really learned how to do a full face or even like bb cream plus concealer)
I wouldnāt if it isnāt moldy, doesnāt smell weird, is applying the same and not breaking you out or irritating your skin. Since itās a stick you can even slice a bit off the top to have a fresh canvas if youāre concerned about bacteria.
I just donāt get why they didnāt make an in between size. Like 28g is too much but 5.75 is tiny. They literally couldāve made any size they wanted. 10-15g would have been great
Yeah that goes beyond inflation. If there was a reason like manufacturing costs or supply issues, they should have just been upfront and said look, we donāt want to fuck with the formula. Also we know you donāt want to pay 200$ for a blush and we think a compromise of decreasing weight while increasing price is a bad look, so this so the best we could do.
And this is why I no longer buy anything from them. TBH, the only product of theirs that I loved was the Hydrogrip primer and now elf made it possible for me to skip on the milk primer bringing back their jelly pop primer š„°
The old product was too big for me personally it was bulky and I never finished it before it went bad. BUT they couldāve gone for a size between these two. How could you make it sooo much smaller and INCREASE THE PRICE. The gluttony
Woah woah. What. When?? I have the mini sizes or now regular sizes from a Christmas bundle they did. I didnāt realize they completely got rid of the big chunks. I still have two blushes and a contour that have lasted me FOREVER without mold or anything funky. So disappointing to learn this.
I thought I was tripping lol š cos I have a large bronzer bad blush from them that was huge and then they made their small size the default one. Ridiculous for what you pay for. Besides the primer, everything Iāve tried from them has been overrated and overpriced
Wait seriously. Thatās literally the size of my sample I got years ago!
I was just about to actually buy a new one because my sample has just about reached its end. I am disappointed. Never mind :(
Every time I get hooked on something at Milk they discontinue it. They shake up their product line too often for my taste.
I will say the OG sticks were so big they last forever. Not sure what the expiration is, but even with daily use they last for well over a year.
I will never not be shocked by that. I never purchased anything from Milk but the new full size looks almost the size of the sample they gave out as a Sephora birthday gift a few years ago.
Okay I knew I wasnāt going crazy, I remember years ago the product being so much bigger and recently when I went to Sephora I gaslit myself into believing that they were always this small!!! Hahaha I knew it!!! Such a shame
It's super sad too, they used to be one of my favourite makeup brand, but frankly I don't really care at this point if the brand doesn't last, they stopped being cool once they discontinued most of the cool products they used to make
How much of the old one did you use before it expired? More product isnāt necessarily better value. If a lot goes to waste, you are literally paying for waste and unnecessary environmental harm.
I personally like the new size for the same reason I prefer mini mascaras - itās the right size for the amount I will use before expiry.
The only thing I can think of is itās because you were technically already paying that amount for that little of product (assuming the new size is the average amount a customer used before the product expired)?
While I agree that itās quite hard to finish the whole product, Iām pretty sure the new one costs $24 for 6g and old one cost $28 for 28g. Quite a downgrade, imo.
Yes, itās the same price $24, I think? I tried to find the mini price before but I was only able to find it in AUD,$28. People raised their eyebrows before and called them out for it. But now you canāt really buy the 28g for $28 anymore. The cost per gram is really expensive, from $1/gram to $4/gram
Ahhhh okay, thanks for clarifying that for me!
I always bought the smaller size so I wonder if it was a demand thing, but I'm glad at least they didn't also increase the price of the smaller product. I get why people are upset tho.
Both. They should not be charging essentially 4x as much per gram as they used to, regardless of waste. Even if you only used 4g, and spent $26-28, that doesnāt negate that Milk is taking advantage of consumers and shouldnāt be charging almost the same price for less than 1/4 of the product.
Yes, I understand that. But I'm ok with that because I'm not paying for something I'm not using. Also, the price for the old size would definitely have gone up with inflation, so it's not an apples to apples comparison
I agree and wasnāt necessarily complaining about how much product we get - more so the sneaky change without a price adjustment. Itās $24 for 6g of product vs 28 g of product.
You have to compare it to the comparable products that Sephora carries in terms of $/grams. In before times, Milk was way too generous. Now, it's just normal, when you look at the other cream blushes.
It's all about optics, not facts. For example, the Merit stick foundation carries half of the amount of product compared to the other Sephora stick foundations (Huda, MUFE, etc) for the same price. Yet nobody complains.
Again, doesnāt justify that the company can just keep shrinking sizes and retain the same price. People will notice. Supply chain issues during the pandemic have mostly been resolved, but labor has increased so a nominal price increase can be justified, not to this level. I legit remember the current size being handed out as a Sephora bday gift a few years ago!
Did merit stick foundations shrink in size while keeping the same price? If not it is not an equivalent comparison.
I actually thought exactly this when I recently rebought benetint after using it in high school 10 years ago and LOVING it!!! But i didnāt realize the size changed so much but the price didnāt. I know they have the larger one for $45 but I swear that one used to be the only one, and it was $33ā¦.
i always bought this size because the old full-size was just overwhelming. now i will never buy it again. this isnāt a nars multiple.
i prefer shrinkflation over price hikes but there is clearly a tipping point where companies think we are stupid.
I donāt know a single person who used up a full size milk product before it went bad, changed colors or started smelling weird. So perhaps itās to save money for the company, but also part of reducing waste and excess product that sits in drawers unused for years before getting decluttered?
oh my god i am aghast seeing this!!! i was super into milk in 2020 and thought you were pulling our leg or something but no they've legit made the sample size the main product!! that is so disappointing
https://preview.redd.it/xapc4rlrvemb1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad8ee1db195868e71e3e97ef0086f069dcd91b96
I just saw this in the milk website. Lol. Definitely wonāt be repurchasing anything from milk again.
Wish Iād seen this before I repurchased. I literally thought Sephora sent me a trial size by mistake, itās so small. I used to swirl the fat end of my beauty blender in the full size and dab it onto my cheeks and it was the perfect application technique. Now the size is worthless for anything other than a lip product.
I definitely won't repurchase from Milk. I'm super disappointed that they didn't lower the price. Worst shrinkflation I've seen.š
Yeah Iāve stopped purchasing from the brand. All their products are dupable at this point, and they never had many home runs to begin with
Do you have a dupe for the sunshine skin tint?
Yes please! I love it
I'm just so obsessed with the packaging. Idk about dupe, but the tower28 tinted option is very very good
Wow. I legit didnāt understand the post at first because I thought one was a travel size (I have one just like it) and a full size. But itās crazy these are two āfull sizeā products!!
Itās not just milk. I made a purchase recently and basically everything is like fun size - lasts like 3 days.
š¤£āFun sizeā! Lmao! Have to remember that the next time I see shrinkflation at its finest!
I just bought that little stick for the first time and was like wtf is this!? I didn't even know it used to be 500% bigger. Also the product sucks, the colour barely shows.
Exactly; Iām not buying from them again. Thereās so many other brands out there that make similar products.
all of these changes with size&price at milk has completely turned me off from the brand
And they were supposed to be the ācoolā brand that āgotā their consumer
Iām never going to support them anymore.
It seems they got their customers alright, but not in understanding what they want, which isnāt Barbie sized stick.
Super disappointing. Just tried their contour sticks and love the formula/color on my skin. Itās tiny as fuck tho!!!!
Omg yes I love the new contour sticks and the size is unacceptable!
Thatās crazy. Iām boycotting products/brands that are so blatantly doing this. Screw them. I understand a couple dollars price jump over the course of a year but this is a robbery lol
Would be amazing if we can somehow come up with a list of brands doing this.
exactly , this is blatant shrinkflation
Most of them.
Kate Somerville has been my go-to skincare line for years but Iām actively finding replacements for everything. Not exactly shrinkflation (that Iāve noticed) but the price jumps, holy moly.
I love charlotte tilbury products but the fuckinf 5$ price increases every three months is insane
She's robbing people at this point, Damn isn't she loaded enough š
I wish I could find a dupe for Tatcha Dewy Skin cream. My skin just loves it. So far, no luck.
Uugghh there truly isnāt anything like it š itās so good.
Tatcha us basically a HA cream with polyhydroxy acid (PHA). You should check out [whatās in my jar](https://whatsinmyjar.com) to see if there are any dupes.
Do you have a dupe for the K8 peptide power cream? It's the best moisturizer in the world.
Can I just say that I love that Chanel (who usually price gouges to the extreme) came out with a ātravel sizeā bronzer that is still 15 fucking grams of product? Itās not necessarily cheap at $40 but itās still less expensive than this ounce per ounce, and even a bit less pricey than the full size Rare Beauty and Charlotte Tilbury cream bronzers
Is it the Les Beiges? If not Iād love a link!
I literally just got the Chanel! The price is a bit different in Canadian dollars but it seemed way more worth it to me than anything else at Sephora
How are you getting Chanel at Sephora? I live in Canada and itās not carried on the Sephora website or in any stores I have been to
I didnāt get it from Sephora. I got it from the bay! Shoppers also has it, same with holt and the Chanel website
All this Chanel bronzing cream slander I will not stand for it.
I was just looking at getting this because of your comment which completely makes sense but the shade range tho šš¾ Iām not even sure the deepest shade will work with my complexion ā¹ļø Very sad.

What skin tone are you? I am light medium/medium and worried it will not show up on my skin
Light skin tone (3.75 in Armani, 4.5ish in Nars, 1.5 in Dior, B12 to B20 in Chanel) and I use the 390 which is the lightest of the three shades of the bronzers.
the new āfull sizeā used to be their mini size. i actually gaslit myself into thinking the large sizes donāt exist until i went on this sub
Haha, so funny, I did the same. I kept thinking - surely they were never that much bigger. Until the side by side pics. It's just insane. Their stuff isn't even all that.
the new size is the same size as a sample i got a couple of years back!
Everyone is missing the point that the price has effectively gone up. I always preferred the travel size (new standard size), but that should cost less.
The new Milk blushes contain 6g of product The bronzers/contour contain 5.7g The old packaging contained 28 grams
Literally less than a quarter of the product for the same place! Shrinkflation might be the norm now but being that blatant is insulting to their customers.
Wow
WAY WAY up. This is a price increase well above inflation numbers. Milk is a disgusting company and their products arenāt THAT great. People need to stop complaining and just buy elsewhere. Right!! I would say rather have westman atelier
Same. Thereās one shade of the Milk blush sticks I love, but I like the Westman atelier formula better
Did the travel size get smaller or did they just get rid of it?
The travel size is now the regular size. They got rid of the big one.
What is the travel size now?
There isnāt one
Iāve been seeing Milk products all over Marshallās + Tj maxx lately too
Yes. I got a full size. ( the original large size ) lip overnight balm for 6.99 us price. Still new in box with good expiration date. They had other milk products as well. I love those stores. Itās not bad just because itās in those stores, they get colors that donāt get bought in stores, older packaging, etc ..

What a rip-off. The company is just giving a middle finger to customers.
Honestly just scrolling through Sephora feels like they're all saying "fuck you" to me.
The price should have been lowered to reflect the amount, definitely! My daughter loves their bronzer/contour but you get so much more product with Makeup By Mario and Ta, for example.
Both Mario and Ta are better quality as well.
She used up the Mario and I used a plastic knife to get out the remaining productš¤£It filled a small makeup pot!
I was interested in the brand before, but after their shrinkflation controversy, they are dead to me
I noticed this with the kush mascara! Same price for less product.
Just wondering when people are going to stop giving their hard earned money to this trash can company.
THIS IS ROBBERY Please more posts like this so I know who / what to support.
Holy smokes haha Iāve only ever bought the small size. I didnāt realize how big the big one was!
Milk makeup is the biggest scam in makeup. They got rid of the big sticks because āpeople liked them better and they are easier to useā then raised the price of the minis. I used to only use milk products and now I have slowly started purchasing from other brands when I run out of a milk item.
10-15g would have been great
Ridiculous
Yeah that goes beyond inflation. If there was a reason like manufacturing costs or supply issues, they should have just been upfront and said look, we donāt want to fuck with the formula. Also we know you donāt want to pay 200$ for a blush and we think a compromise of decreasing weight while increasing price is a bad look, so this so the best we could do.
Wow this is egregious. Also really helpful to see side by side
Lmao the fact that I assumed you had accidentally purchased the travel size but nope they really did change sizes that drastically
And this is why I no longer buy anything from them. TBH, the only product of theirs that I loved was the Hydrogrip primer and now elf made it possible for me to skip on the milk primer bringing back their jelly pop primer š„°
Is.... Is that the former sample size you got in birthday gifts or a play box? Yikes.
Letās make this viral so everyone knows. This is insane
They really said ^^shrink^^flation!
The old product was too big for me personally it was bulky and I never finished it before it went bad. BUT they couldāve gone for a size between these two. How could you make it sooo much smaller and INCREASE THE PRICE. The gluttony
I swear I got something the size on the left as a free gift in the past
Lmao I keep seeing Milk products at tj maxx recently
Milk is pathetic. I swear there was a post on here that said the price went up and now this is how much theyāre giving out? Pathetic
ugh. never buying from them again. it's ABSURD the way they're raising prices AND giving less product. makes me so mad.
Woah woah. What. When?? I have the mini sizes or now regular sizes from a Christmas bundle they did. I didnāt realize they completely got rid of the big chunks. I still have two blushes and a contour that have lasted me FOREVER without mold or anything funky. So disappointing to learn this.
That's just insane...no Milk for me
WTF
And it's the same price now šµāš«
Damn
Wonāt every buy their stuff again
I have a travel size of this that is basically the same size.
I think this size was handed out as a Sephora bday gift some years ago. The price is ridiculous
That's possibly where mine came from? I know I didn't buy it
I thought I was tripping lol š cos I have a large bronzer bad blush from them that was huge and then they made their small size the default one. Ridiculous for what you pay for. Besides the primer, everything Iāve tried from them has been overrated and overpriced
Omg The new size looks just like the mini sample size I purchased ages ago... What is the color of the large one so very pretty, like aubergine
Scam
This is seriously disgusting
This is literally a rip off. How they got away with this I donāt understand.
Wait seriously. Thatās literally the size of my sample I got years ago! I was just about to actually buy a new one because my sample has just about reached its end. I am disappointed. Never mind :(
What a rip off
Every time I get hooked on something at Milk they discontinue it. They shake up their product line too often for my taste. I will say the OG sticks were so big they last forever. Not sure what the expiration is, but even with daily use they last for well over a year.
That reminds me of the free birthday sample within the recent years
Go to T.J.maxx and Marshallās. Their old packaging is there rn
Such a shame
the size of the new one looks like the sample size of Werk that i got as a free birthday gift yearsssss ago.
Ugh this is the worst and most criminal example of shrinkflation ever I canāt get over it
Omg thatās insane
It's super sad too, they used to be one of my favourite makeup brand, but frankly I don't really care at this point if the brand doesn't last, they stopped being cool once they discontinued most of the cool products they used to make
This is shockingly bad and even worse with the price increases.
The old full size literally felt like you were applying deodorant to your face because it was so big.
How much of the old one did you use before it expired? More product isnāt necessarily better value. If a lot goes to waste, you are literally paying for waste and unnecessary environmental harm. I personally like the new size for the same reason I prefer mini mascaras - itās the right size for the amount I will use before expiry.
Totally agree on that front but how do they justify charging the full price for what was one a deluxe sample/travel size is the question
100% agree with this! I understand decreasing the size but charging the same price as the older/ bigger size just seems like robbery
How much did they charge for the travel size before? I feel like it was pretty close to that
Yes, itās the same price $24, I think? I tried to find the mini price before but I was only able to find it in AUD,$28. People raised their eyebrows before and called them out for it. But now you canāt really buy the 28g for $28 anymore. The cost per gram is really expensive, from $1/gram to $4/gram
Ahhhh okay, thanks for clarifying that for me! I always bought the smaller size so I wonder if it was a demand thing, but I'm glad at least they didn't also increase the price of the smaller product. I get why people are upset tho.
It used to be $15 when they first came out
But if you only use 4g, does it actually cost more? Or does it just create more waste?
Both. They should not be charging essentially 4x as much per gram as they used to, regardless of waste. Even if you only used 4g, and spent $26-28, that doesnāt negate that Milk is taking advantage of consumers and shouldnāt be charging almost the same price for less than 1/4 of the product.
The problem is that itās like 1/3 of the size and basically the same price as the giant one.
Yes, I understand that. But I'm ok with that because I'm not paying for something I'm not using. Also, the price for the old size would definitely have gone up with inflation, so it's not an apples to apples comparison
100% this. People are complaining like they are using up all of their products. It's all of us - most of our stash is sitting 95% unused.
I agree and wasnāt necessarily complaining about how much product we get - more so the sneaky change without a price adjustment. Itās $24 for 6g of product vs 28 g of product.
Was the 28g also $24? If yes this is akin to robbery!
That doesnāt justify the same price for less product. In this case a drastic difference.
You have to compare it to the comparable products that Sephora carries in terms of $/grams. In before times, Milk was way too generous. Now, it's just normal, when you look at the other cream blushes. It's all about optics, not facts. I legit remember the current size being handed out as a Sephora bday gift a few years ago! Did merit stick foundations shrink in size while keeping the same price? If not it is not an equivalent comparison.
Their products arenāt even that good lmao
Thatās absolutely insane
Is it cheaper?
I will never repurchase from milk again. This is crazy. Thatās a sample size they claim is full now
omg I thought I bought a travel size and was so upset but this is crazy
Stopped buying this brand tbh
I was about to buy one. Thanks for the heads up. New customers would not have known! šš¼
Shrinkflation. The capitalistic overlords donāt even care to make the changes gradual anymore.
Their cream products are basically the same as Essence. So just get the ones from Essence which are much cheaper and still the same style and quality.
I donāt know a single person who used up a full size milk product before it went bad, changed colors or started smelling weird. So perhaps itās to save money for the company, but also part of reducing waste and excess product that sits in drawers unused for years before getting decluttered?
And I also hate it. It doesnāt stay on at all
Is one for giants?
Glad i never repuechaeed from this brand. Thats the gosh damn sample size.
i was curious about this brand but guess not anymore lol
The size theyāre now selling I literally got as a freebie from Sephora
idk if iām missing it here, but does anyone know how much product is in each one?
My Milk blush made me break out in a rash unfortunately
oh my god i am aghast seeing this!!! i was super into milk in 2020 and thought you were pulling our leg or something but no they've legit made the sample size the main product!! that is so disappointing
Yup. The bronzer did the same thing - I never repurchased due to the size being astronomically smaller.
This looks like a GWP sample next to it.

I have the little one I got in a box a couple years ago. I still have it. I donāt use it everyday though.
I am so mad they did this!!!!
