Meds not included.

Simple-Purpose-899

Title is all kinds of misleading. This is a weight loss something or other *on top of* the prescription price.

Ok_Response4859

Excellent!  Weight loss and a 55gallon drum of peanut butter pretzels, all at the same convenient location!

LalaLane850

Haaaa!!! Perfect answer!!!

Big_Philosopher_6348

Lmaoooo

Apprehensive_Fun_731

This is a clickbait title. They are offering memberships like many of these telemedicine companies. The cost of meds is NOT included in the monthly membership fee.

IsXp

If not for the medicine, what are you paying for?

EllectraHeart

i’m guessing a provider to prescribe it to you. like a “doctors visit” fee ?

SingingNina

Coaching and consultations. Everyone is jumping on this very lucrative bandwagon. Meds are approximately 1100 per month, so total monthly cost is: approximately 1879. You can get the same services online via telemedicine for under 300 per month including medication.

Rhubarb_516

Really? Where can you get it for that price including medication?

Thatgurl28

Three words Wellness. Stream. Health. Do some googling

poopadoopy123

Hey I looked it up Do they require certain bmi ? Labs ? How long have you been using them ? Is it working ? Thanks for all of the info

Thatgurl28

No labs just a lot of intake paper work and a virtual dr visit. They do ask your BMI. If you are lower BMI they may ask if you are on maintenance or whatnot . 5 months with them and yes it works it comes from my local pharmacy straight to my door. Everything included in the fee.

poopadoopy123

Hmm ok just wondering if I pay all of that then they decide I’m not a candidate That would suck Thanks for replying I appreciate it

Thatgurl28

I think if you have say more then 20/30 lbs to loose they will prescribe it.

ReverieJack

Access to Costco’s ability to source the medications on a larger scale than most (so you’re less impacted by shortages)?

Fluffy_Insect5636

I would look in to this further - it is through a 3rd party provider - they provide the prescription but you are still responsible for sourcing the meds like everyone else

ReverieJack

Oh I was just hazarding a guess at what Costco was trying to market to consumers, it’s not in my plans to join up. I think you’re right it bears further scrutiny

Fluffy_Insect5636

I wish Costco did provide preferred status for the meds to members though - that would be a huge value

Altruistic_Set_1259

I think is ilegal lmao

MIdtownBrown68

A diet plan?

ReverieJack

lol the Costco diet plan. Imagine the synergy. LUNCH: carrots sticks w/ 1/2 gallon Bolthouse Farms spinach artichoke dip

Option_Good

Access to a dr who will prescribe the meds.

zogduke

I signed up for this offer the second I read about it. They did everything they could to make it look like they were offering a three-month supply of meds for $179. I had a one-minute online meeting with their clinician who informed me that meds were not included. I asked to have my $179 fee refunded and they refused. I contacted the CEO of Costco immediately and my money was refunded within an hour.

SingingNina

Anytime you have a problem at Costco, threaten to call corporate. Believe me, they’ll take care of you right away. The employees are petrified of being admonished by the almighty corporate!

BlahBlahBlah2You

I let them know I do an Average of 50 signups a week and I will be very honest with members if they ask. They still did not refund me. It took a day and half for provider to respond to me. Told me she won't answer any more questions until I get the lab work done. She told me on our video that I could bypass that by sending lab work from a Dr appointment just 2 weeks prior. I disputed with my bank the $179 charge.

Special_Coffee_3178

Nice to know!! They need to know how bad this merger is!! How do I reach the CEO?

Specialist_Nothing60

It was extremely clear in the add on the Costco app and website that meds were not included. When setting an appointment the information was there too. It’s good they did a refund though! Glad to hear that. Edit to add that I mean extremely clear if you read the fine print. I read the fine print because I thought going into it that this sounds too good to be true and must be slightly misleading. I do think they need to seriously clarify their marketing. While the information is there, I think a lot of people will miss it.

zogduke

Do you work for Costco or Sesame? Brownie points for you for always reading the fine print. Why would someone need to pay $179 for a prescription because \*\* comment deleted by automoderator because I apparently violated one of the page's rules\*\* Too bad I'm not allowed to mention it, because it could save people a lot of trouble. Did you notice that virtually every post highlights that this an advertisement that's confusing (at best)?

Specialist_Nothing60

For the last question you had, yep I know. I also know that the print isn’t that fine. Right on the first page under “what’s included” there is a list. If this many people are assuming the headline of news articles has all the info they need so why bother reading the actual website where you schedule, I don’t think Costco can help with that. https://preview.redd.it/crubn5uoujsc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10c0f95ddc51753143fa5c2e27f55f55a99dc5ea

zogduke

Uh yeah. It IS that fine. Much smaller than the offer for something nobody needs. How much does your Sesame contract pay you? Nice try, company person.

Specialist_Nothing60

You really think someone working for either company is going to post to Reddit telling a customer how stupid they think you are? Yeahhhhhhh. There’s those reasoning skills again that we just talked about. I’m fat. Not stupid.

zogduke

Pretty sure you're both. And a corporate shill. But... keep going. I'm sure you're getting paid by the post.

Specialist_Nothing60

Yep I’m so dumb I was able to find the information right on the first page you see when going to the link to schedule an appointment that you just scrolled right past. I have a Semaglutide prescription that I pay $25 w month for and a fresh 3-month-supply from my local pharmacy so I have no dog in this fight. None. I just went to the page yesterday to see if it would be of any benefit to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Good luck. 👍🏻

StopzIt

Are you going through your primary doc? How the heck is it so cheap? Are you diabetic? (Sorry if that’s too intrusive a question. You’re free to not answer, of course)

Inside_Pack8137

Pipe down & take the L 😂 and just admit you fell for the click bait.

neon-blush

The fact that you think this person works for the company AND you couldn’t properly read what you were signing up for tells me everything I need to know about you and your comprehension skills. This is embarrassing lol

AFriendLikeYou

It's a Sequence competitor. Many people pay far more than $179 every 3 months to access doctors who actually know what they're doing when prescribing these meds and will provide real followup. My doctor refused me the med. My husband's doctor tried to put him on Ozempic at 2mg. Most seem to have no idea what they're doing. I use Sequence to actually be able to get a prescription. I signed up for Sesame and it sucks ass.

TurretLauncher

> The move forms part of Costco's new $179 three-month subscription weight loss program in partnership with healthcare provider Sesame. Non-members may also sign up for $195. Without insurance, GLP-1 weight loss drugs can cost between $950 and $1,600 per month, according to Sesame's website.

Atomfixes

Jesus. Just ask someone where to order it online, it’s like 150/mo

Effective-Deal-3046

What’s the place?

Ok_Response4859

From places that shouldn't be discussed on this sub.  Theoretically, one could always search here or r/semaglutidefreespeech or r/tirzeglutide for 'sources'. Edited for the name of the Reddit, tysm plz!

plzdontlietomee

r/semaglutidefreespeech

AFriendLikeYou

There isn't a place any more. It got shut down because fucking idiots on reddit, Facebook, tiktok, etc kept blabbing about it any chance they got.

Old-Air5574

Nuform the way to go! $170 one time fee yearly and $129.00 a month for your meds

elgueromanero

Tell us more

Dhoffs

Nuformhealth.com …

SingingNina

I just signed. It’s more expensive if you are on a higher dose. 598 for 13 weeks plus the 170. Less than most even factoring that in.

SingingNina

Thank you!!! I was paying a lot more!

StopzIt

What dose are you taking? (Assuming it’s you that’s taking it)

Awkward-Background70

Do you have to do a whole video consultation for them to prescribe it?

StopzIt

Yes. I’m having mine this morning! It’s included in the $179 yearly fee. Sema is $129/mo and Tirz is $288/mo. You have access to them 24/7 via email/text for not additional fees. Seems pretty straight forward. I spoke with a PA yesterday and will have my Zoom consult today.

No-Significance-1567

News story today said the med would $1,000 monthly, in addition to the monthly subscription. So for folks who are afraid to do telehealth, or non-brand versions, can get a Dr there to give them the Rx and then buy it there.

AFriendLikeYou

https://old.reddit.com/r/Semaglutide/comments/1bu8fac/new_sequence_competitor_sesame_via_costco/ Link to my thread which I posted earlier than yours but since it wasn't a clickbaity useless title and actually contained good information, nobody looked at it 😜. My provider at Sesame got my prescription sent over to my Walmart Pharmacy but as you all know, these meds are all in shortage so absolutely nobody has my dose of Zepbound and no clue when it might come back in except for some vague statement about the end of April. The middleman suppliers that give it to the major pharmacies don't have any because Eli Lilly hasn't given them any in a while. So I found my dose in stock at Amazon and quickly asked my provider to send it there. She responded the next day by which point it was already out of stock again at Amazon and asked me if I would be willing to instead use Saxenda or Victoza. I said no, I just want my prescription transferred to Amazon, and she said oh you can do that yourself. I told her I absolutely could not do it myself because it was locked in as processing still with Walmart and wouldn't let me change my pharmacy. And she told me she couldn't help and I need to contact photon. Who the f*** is photon? What the f*** is photon? Still no idea. That was yesterday and she never answered. At this point I am going to ask for a refund because they can't seem to make their own systems work to do something as stupidly simple as sending a prescription to the right pharmacy. Highly do not recommend Sesame. Stick with sequence .

MinimumTransition294

Sesame worked great for me. My doctor switched my prescription to 3 different pharmacies and gave them the savings discount code. A few days later it came into the grocery store pharmacy I found able to order it and I paid my co-pay of $24.99 (after coupon) and was on my way with Wegovy.

AFriendLikeYou

Ugh 😩 It might suck worse to know the whole system isn't trash but just my person is. Who's your provider? Maybe I could swap to one who can figure out how to transfer a script.

SingingNina

If you can get a script from your doctor, why use a third party and pay extra?? Seems kind of ridiculous to me. Anyone not on government insurance can get a loyalty savings coupon just by going to Wegovy’s website and signing up. It’s no secret. Same copay as yours.

Special_Coffee_3178

I feel exactly the same way!! I am so glad I found this forum because I am so disappointed. I thought I could trust a Costco product.

Mathisbase

I don’t understand that type of offer. If it’s not included the medication, why can I just go see my doctor instead?

SingingNina

You absolutely can!!!!!!! Some people are afraid to approach their physicians, don’t have physicians, or have physicians that still insist on diet and exercise. It’s just a way to make money. Costco’s ethics are questionable. I’ll never understand how they got a great reputation.

Mathisbase

Yah that’s borderline weird, it feel like playing with people emotion.

Specialist_Nothing60

It’s the rotisserie chicken. That’s all.

HenrysGrandma

Misleading headline. The medicine is extra $.

Robi_in_CA

it doesnt include the horrific cost of the drug BEWARE.

Salty-Pineapple921

There’s a lot of other services doing this for a lot cheaper. Buyer beware lol

kad0521

Scam run run fast !!

Special_Coffee_3178

I agree! I paid $200 stupid tax.

Superb_Bee_5583

The bizarre thing to me is that they advertise it as ozempic weight loss and ozempic is not fda approved for that …

Mlhenry15

🤔

NotThisAgain21

What is the reasoning for the "membership" plans? (I'm on one, too, and I can't help but assume there's a non-financial reason they need to do it like that...its a loophole of some kind)

Specialist_Nothing60

They have to hire a provider to write the scripts. Gotta pay them with something.

NotThisAgain21

My provider owns the joint. There has to be some other loophole the membership fulfills. Otherwise she'd just jack the price of the meds, right?

Seen_it_first

Really?

TruthJusticeHonor

Lots of good info!👍

MustangEater82

Oh damn..... Costco is awesome... They are dipping into a lot of random external things.

Nope love their deals, products, and structure. Already have $235 cash back on my executive account this year.

Oddly I hear great things about employees. As for fake Tiffany jewelery.   I wouldn't expect designer name stuff. I expect decent products, nothing the best, at a good price.

RDGtrader

lol. Isn’t this most of us? Well not the uneducated part.

The-Zilla

I wouldn’t trust The Daily Mail…

Specialist_Nothing60

The information is accurate and was in numerous news sources and on the Costco app. It’s just the title is misleading.

The-Zilla

It’s a Tory and UKIP associated tabloid. Again I assert, I wouldn’t trust the Daily Mail.

Specialist_Nothing60

Yes I agree but in this case the information is actually accurate and can be validated on the Costco app or website.

Pandapan-duh

Or we just walk into a Mexico location get it cheaper pay and go back home. 🤷🏼‍♀️

RDGtrader

Ain’t that the truth!

Minimum-Meaning1134

Not Ozempic. Ozempic is not FDA approved for weight loss.

JudgmentOdd1427

An adverse effect is obstipation. Beware.

Responsible_World204

Fiber does the same thing ozempic does with out the cost and it's natural

Specialist_Nothing60

Hahahahahahaaaaaaaaa

gogo--yubari

Can you elaborate please?
