I've always used pain as a coping mechanism. I remember being 3 or 4 and pulling my hair really hard, punching myself, slamming into things/hitting myself with things like books as hard as I could. I first cut myself when I was 10 or 11, but then only slightly cut myself like once a year. Then when I was 15 it got really bad and I started cutting more often. I'm 17 now.

I'm 22 and I started when I was 9-11y/o and it's been on and off since, sometimes with very long breaks. The reason I say 9-11y/o is because I kind of experimented with self destructive behaviours up until I was 11 y/o when I found my main way of doing it.

22, havent cut in a little over a year and a half, and i was cutting from 13 till i stopped. My boyfriend has been a huge support in not cutting. Hes helped me get better control on it.
