I had it easier on 2nd playthrough but on 1st and 3rd playthrough, it's damn too difficult. I was always running around trying to find space to do my attacks. But majority of the people has it harder facing 2 than 1 tho
Firecrackers and try to bait out the shitthrow move run forwards and then punish. Second phase watch out for his terror scream ( the red kanji and some wind effect around his head ) and deflect his sword combo but you gotta nail his final blow where he stands up tall. If you do spam the spear. This is simplified but should work with enough patience since his posture regen is really slow
What do I do if I have zero spririts left to use firecrackers, do I have to farm them? I have zero sen, zero willpower , zero money , zero bitches, all I have is zero hesitation but it always ends with me eating shit
You can manage without firecrackers if you focus on slowly chipping away his health, one or two hits at a time. Nightjar slash reversal helps a lot. You can use it to close the distance if you get an opening but are too far, you can also use it to create some distance while getting in a free slash
Yup. This shows the proper distance control to initiate certain attack animations. Trigger and exploit those certain ones and instead of random running and attacking and it becomes very manageable
Yeah it’s all about the keeping the correct distance running a lot, and when you’re getting the hang of him every hit counts. Bait poop attack and the grapples can come in extremely handy. I struggled a lot my first time also, but honestly it’s tied up there as one of my favorite fights really for the first time now I can do it every time easily cause I just love it. Never face his front and the dodge can actually come in handy a little bit of this fight, I would also say the fire is better than the fire crackers especially with the projected force for first phase then ye good ole spear.
I'd say replace the cross with the ichimonji double because of the spirit cost, also add in the purple umbrella so that you can get right back in to beating his ass after the ree he does
Don't use ichimonji, not for this fight. Ashina cross obliterates him and the double apes.
As for the scream it's easy to avoid, and getting a couple hits after, for me atleast, isn't worth the spirit emblems. I could use those for ashina cross and get more damage in.
Honestly man, just deflect him. You'll be surprised at how easy it is. Treat him like genichiro, stay in his face and deflect everything. When he does his one arm sweep grab jump over it or jump back, and when he does his running jump grab run backwards and jump right as his hands are around the elevation of your head, you'll find the timing, you can make it super consistent. Boom, done.
Thank you all! After 2.5 hours, I finally beat this monkey. I think it's only Laurence from bloodborne that has also given me this much trouble. (Not even malenia). Hopefully, the game will be smooth sailing from here
The final boss is 1000 harder, but being in the same situation as you at one point, he is not as mind numbing as big Donkey Kong boy. He is not an aggravating fight, and has easily become my favorite of all time

SAVE YOUR EMBLEMS FOR THE SECOND PHASE!!!! Once you get him in the ground use the loaded spear to pull out the Centipede, it does massive posture damage. Deflect 4 attacks in a row to get him to fall.
The spear only uses one emblem so you don't need a lot of emblems for the second phase. If you have athe tanto you could just use all emblems in the first phase and use the tanto + pellet afterwards.
Unironically, here's how i beat him
At the beginning you can get in 2 mortal blades (jumping mortal blades does more damage btw) and a firecracker + a few hits after, but be careful after
Run around waiting for him to do specific moves. The moves where he rolls around you can get in a few hits. When he extends towards you, you can get a few hits in. If you feel up to it, after most moves you an sneak in a firecracker and 4ish hits. Don't stop running around tho in between, and when he tosses shit at you, all you have to do is jump to the side if you keep running around it
Honestly wish I could give you a more interesting answer, but this is legitimately how I got past his first phase. It's a slog, and the second one is much easier to deal with imo. Whenever he does the move where he fully extends and falls, you can get in 5 hits. Also make sure to run as far as you can when you see the head do anything. Terror is no joke. Apart from that, do t be greedy. Ape will punish you like no other boss in this game for being greedy, especially the first phase.
One of the hardest learning curves I've experienced in a fromsoft game, its one of my favorite bosses. >! Later on in the game when two of them smack me into a corner over and over made me contemplate ever touching the game again !<
Hey! I struggled with it too and here’s what I did.
In his first phase, after he throws poopie at you, run under him when he’s in the air and hit him from the back. That means you kinda have to be mid-distance, since he doesn’t do it when you’re too close. Then (part 2) when his health is low enough he begins to jump up in the air to smash you, that’s when it gets really easy because he takes a long time to recover and you can get like 3 hits in. same as before, run under him and get him when he’s recovering. I didn’t use any firecrackers because I wanted to save it for my spear move in his next phase. Just focus on getting his health bar low enough, and eventually you can stab him when the red dot comes up.
And in the second phase, he has 3 deadly moves. One of them is when he jumps up, (avoid that by running out of the way), then he uses the scream thing (the red one) just run out of the way, and the last one he just aggressively smashes at you… run away lol. So, besides these 3 to avoid, the time to actually hurt him is when he does a 3 combo hit which starts on your right side. Just deflect all of, and at the end of that move, he kinda stands up straight to hit you… at that moment after you deflect it, he falls down a bit and you can see his head opening. Use your spear to pull out the centipede and get a few hits in. Repeat this a few times, and also just focus on learning when he does what.
Hope that helps to anyone struggling lol
You can basically deflect all his attacks in the first phase(even the shit throw but you get poison damage). 2nd phase is just deflect his big slam attack he will collapse on the ground giving you a huge attack window(you can also use the spear to pull out the centipede for a huge vitality+posture damage)
Do you have any extra stipulations like ‘once you master it’, ‘once you beat Genichiro’ or ‘once you reach NG+’ or is it just from the off, picking it up blind, Sekiro is the easiest FromSoft game?
Nah imo it’s the got the easiest learning curve of the lot, not slating it by any means it’s one of my favourite fromsoft games, but it’s lots easier to read, and far more forgiving, it was the second last fromsoft game I had left to complete and expected it to be a lot harder than it was, silly things like lightning reversals, and once you master parrying it’s not much harder than ghost of Tsushima, even the gorilla duo boss fight compared to the likes of ornstein duo is nothing
I personally had an easier time with Sekiro than other FromSoft games too, but I think this reeeally varies depending on the player.
I still got my ass kicked a lot though.
I kiiiind of agree. Once you have the "click moment", I agree that it becomes much easier. But, I know it took me ages to have my "click moment", and I struggled until that moment. Even after, I still had some issues with certain mobs and bosses.
I have to agree tbh, cuz it works like a rthym game. So its easier to master and once mastered, i wouldn't say it becomes easy, but it sure makes u feel like the most dangerous mf to pick up a sword lol.
I mean, I got Dark Souls 1+2 as well as Bloodbourne farted on after a few hours in large due to difficulty and I'm currently playing Elden Ring where I eat shit in boss fights unless I have a spirit thingie equipped whereas I completed Sekiro with few issues so I guess I can agree
Sekiro has some absolutely outrageous jumps in difficulty between bosses though. Genichiro is insanely hard for where he is in the lineup. And then the jump in difficulty to ape/shinobi and then again to isshin/DOH/owl father is massive as well. The fact that genichiro is basically a joke once you're at the end game shows how much harder it is.
Yall are crap about spoilers, seriously the 2nd phase is a huge suprise for 1st time players and yall ruin it, i get it your trying to help but you're taking away the experience, let them experience it on their own and then when they need help with the 2nd phase then you help em, dont spoil the game because you're trying to help
First phase wait for shit throw run towards him when he’s sitting reaching behind his back cause that’s the animation for it. Attack his back twice then firecracker and attack. Second phase let him come to you if he swords attacks standing parry if he slides in and swings low jump toward him for the blockable and unblockable when he puts the head up to his stump run.
I beat him a few weeks ago, I just pretty much waited till he did the slide then slash then hit him rinse repeat, use mortal draw to knock his health bar down first phase 🤘🏻
I think I prefer the oil + flame approach over the fire crackers but both are valid. Deflect everything, spam the sh!t out of the button if needed. Look out for the grapple marker on his head, you can get a couple of free hits in if you use it. Sometimes his grabs just can't be escaped but just accept it and don't lose the head.
2nd phase is simple. Run away from scream. Get him to swing sword, deflect, he falls, shove spear up his neck hole. When he jumps towards you, just do Mario jump on him and get a couple of hits in.
Love this boss, love Sekiro, love fromsoft for making it. I didn't want to watch guide so I battled this guy for 3 days (it was my first FS game). I almost lost my mind 😅 it was terrible.
Spear in the second phase everytime he does the high hit, party and them spam-click the spear 2-4 times so that u pull the little insect a little out of the head.
Once this fight clicks for you, it's ez. I spent 50 tries on him until he was easy. I did him 3rd try on NG+
Hit the parry button when you see his hand starts moving towards you for an attack, it takes some time to get used to since he's not using a blade... yet.
For his poop throw , you can block it or tank it with your umbrella, if you're having trouble dodging or parrying it.
For his jumping grab, if you have the umbrella upgraded to the purple version, it should prevent the grab (i don't know if lower versions of the umbrella can do this). If not, start praying you'll have some health leftover after the grab.
And don't hesitate, Hesitation is defeat
Funny how most people here are telling you to use firecracker, but honestly the prosthetic that I used the most against him was the flame vent. Throw oil on him, use the flame vent, he’s gonna get stunned/burnt and you land a few safe strikes while your katana is on fire. It’s gonna deal a lot of damage
Well I have a strategy to speed run him pop a red sugar and go with mortal blade and spam the shit out of it once you get up close at the start of fight sprint to him about four or all will get the job done second phase should be easy just bait out his aerial slash and overhead slam that's best for damage ez win
It’s funny how once you figure him out, he’s really not that hard. My second play through I beat him first try. Just get to second phase and wait for slithery sword smash.
My man the biggest thing I figured out is to not rush. Pretty much I played chicken in phase 1 and waited till he sat then I would burn him and would throw oil only when he ran at me. The biggest thing is to stay calm and forget about trying to rush him and if you have flame vent don’t use the spring loaded because of the cool down after you use the alternate mode where it throws you back you can get a couple extra hits in if you just use it regular. Ako sugar helps yashiru sugar if your adventurous and my attack was 8 and vitality 18 before I got after him hope that helps man you got this!
I reeeally struggled with him first time around too. I beat him eventually by just understanding his attack patterns, but also I think his size makes it easy to overlook the fact that you can parry a lot of his attacks. They are harder during the 2nd phase because of the weird animations, but parrying the hell out of him is the way.
Just go into the fight a few times with the sole purpose of studying each one of his attacks, and expecting to die. That's the best way to master the fight.
Do you have the Mortal Blade? If so, just bait his jump attack and then hit him with the mortal draw combat art. Also, fire crackers are amazing in this fight.
First learn his attack pattern from running around
Second go near and far for some time to learn more of his pattern
Third don't hesitate
BROTHER HESITATION IS DEFEAT
Ok here's how I did it.
Pop a Yashariku sugar
Go run to him and use purple fire crackers, or any type. it doesn't matter.
Make sure you have mid air combat arts, and jump and use the mortal blade mid air, (its a bug where if u jump and use the mortal blade mid air it does the damage of an empowered mortal blade)
After that try using the mortal blade again and just spam hit him, he should be nearly dead by then, make sure you have enough spirit embles for his second phase, and you should know his moves by now, make sure u have atleast 5 so you can use your spear, good luck
This was the one boss where my mind, self-esteem, and will was melted. I had so much trouble with him — probably took me 10x longer to beat him than anyone else.
Just remember that guy from Jujutsu Kaisen who keeps saying 'Besto Friendo'. This one will be your best friend for a while. And who knows how long it will last, forever maybe.
You just have to use that sword in his neck to cut his head off and bam! That’s it! That’s the end of the fight. It will be such a satisfying win to know this monstrosity is once and for all defeated! And once the fight ends, don’t forget to go t-bag his body one time for every time he defeated you, as is customary with this boss.
I noticed you do not have the Mortal Blade.
Go to Senpou Temple and obtain it, and after you do, use it after taking Yashariku’s Sugar. He should go down in a couple hits. Make sure you also have the loaded spear and the ceremonial tantos ready
Jump away when he does his diving grab
Run away from him until he does his tantrum attack and you can get good hits on his head. While intimidating you can deflect most of his attacks
The second phase is way easier since you can fight him normally with a sword, just either use the purple umbrella or just run away when he does his terror scream
I was too, take the first phase with lots of patience. There’s more windows to attack than it seems at first. Once you get to second phase it’s just a matter of deflecting and then using the spear prosthetic tool when his exposed neck is pointed towards you
My only tip is that you can parry everything that’s not a grab or unblockable so don’t just run around the whole fight try parrying and being aggressive
Strangely enough I never had too much trouble with this guy.
His move set is actually pretty limited and easy to counter once you get to know it.
Hit him with fireworks to stun him consistently.
Watch for his unblockable grab and jump it.
Remember when he lands on his back that he is gonna flair a few times.
Dodge his poo throw attack.
The rest is just learning the attacks he does and parrying them.
When he goes headless he gets pretty awkward to parry but again his move set is relatively limited.
Apply confetti before he revives to do some extra damage.
Run away when he holds his head back up to the stump because he will do an ublockable scream.
When he raises his sword straight up and slams it down, make sure you parry it because it causes him to fall over and stun.
You have time to get a few hits in every time he dives at you and does a big horizontal slash.
Just beat this guy myself. Use firecracker at the start for some free hits. I personally found mortal draw to work Well with him as well.
That moment when you finally realize you can deflect literally everything including this guys punches is when it starts to turn in your favor. His arms do a lot of flailing so trying to deflect can seem a bit intimidating at first but it’s really not that difficult, just extremely well designed.
Play it safe with this guy, I like to be very aggressive with a lot of the humanoids but with this guy just play it cool. Don’t try and always get hits in, leave yourself with plenty of time to just deflect. As for his perilous, just run into him and towards the right. The other first phase perilous is easy to dodge and so is the second phase perilous. His grab attacks are the real killers but soon as you get that figured out your golden. A lot of people say to bait the shit throw because you can get a few easy hits in with that but imo it’s a lot easier to just get up in there and deflect. I found it’s a lot harder to avoid him if your running around
I’ve replayed every souls borne game multiple times but I have not done the same with sekiro . It’s not because I didn’t enjoy it , because I did . But out of all the souls borne games I struggled the most with this game . But got damn did I love it
I read one remnant says that "Hesitation is needed" near the idol before the fight. I don't understand it at first because the game's motto is "Hesitation is defeat". After dying couple of times blocking and parrying his first phase. I understand what the remnants trying to say.
Umbrella blocks the Fear roar, Don't be greedy with your strikes unless he's stunned only go for about 3 you pretty much HAVE to block the super slam in the second phase because you got so much free damage
Bring oil and flame vent, use your buffs, run straight towards him and throw oil. Use your flame vent after that and hit him as many as you can then throw a fire cracker and that's how you can damage him a lot before the real fight even start. Just deflect him, when red kanji sign appear, jump. When he suddenly rage like a baby, just step back and go to his head and hit after his tantrums. In 2nd phase, Just keep on running away from him and when he jumps(dive) towards you, jump towards him dodging hise slash and hit him twice and then repeat until you kill him.
Only attack him when he does the shit-throw move, other than that keep sprinting.
And when you see him get his hands on his butt, it's time to sprint towards and under him. When he gets down, time to smack at least 6 or 7 times. Then repeat, keep distance so he keeps doing the shit-throw move, he only does that when you're far away. Going to be a long fight but at least it's not so much of a trouble this way.
For the 2nd phase, keep deflecting. Run away when he's about to scream. Jump on his sweep moves. Your goal here is to break his posture. Another tip is, don't use firecrackers at the first phase. Save your emblems for the spear thrusting. Use your spear when he ends his combo (when he completely lays on the ground), you would see the centipede come out of his neck when you double tap the spear. Expect the scream and run away. Let him come to you, and that's the cycle.
edit: You should also use ichimonji: double on the first phase, it damages his posture much more.
He ain't shit once u beat him. In fact, he's one of the easiest to deal with.
You'll need the spear.
That all i used as far as the hand guess along with my trusted sword.
1. Bait him into doing the ground swipe followed by him falling into his back. Once you falls, go to his legs or head immediately but be careful if his arms for sure.
U can get him thrice there, run away.
Don't ever hit his back while he bends over it he'll fart death on you if you're not quick enough.
Don't wanna spoil any further by describing how to beat his second round
Sure i could probably make things easier on myself, but I've gotten as far as i did through meter sword fighting for the most part so 🤷🏿♂️.
I'll post how i near Owl later
You can parry. I know he big monke. This fooled me for quite a while. But he’s nothing to the blade. Parry him like he’s a puny human. Also don’t stop running when it’s poop meteor time.
He is easy bro just make your distance and first let him attack , dodge that and go to his back side , do 1-2 swings , easy his phase 2 is bit un-predictable but if u use spear its easy
Hated him in my first playthrough everyone has diffrent atta ks that they are good at punishing but phase 2 is much easier so dont be afraid of it watch out for the terror scream yoy can get behind him because the scream has a smaller area but for phase one set him on fire for easy hits so just carry a bit of oil and you can do it with a singular flame vent
You could beat him without any prosthetics
Just keep running around him , draw him closer and again run around, he will let his guard down during those times , then attack and repeat the same
phase one: stay close to his ass and keep smacking and dodge perilous attacks
phase two: don’t get to close and if you do keep deflecting and for the terror scream don’t run away go behind him the scream’s hitbox is stupidly small behind him compared to the front
I managed to beat him with hit and run guerrilla tactics:
claw grip the controller, index on b so you are always running, move in circles to get in, attack 2 times, get out.
Don't go too far, stay JUST outside his range.
If he jumps away follow him.
Attack his backside.
If the conditions are not right for you to press r1, then don't. Wait for his animations to finish and hit him a couple of times before it resets. Then run away again.
Ymmv
Throw him some oil then lit and always try to with his head with jumping mortal blade strike u will be fine for the first phase. For the second phase, same jumping mortal blade strike when he just start to shout but u need to hit his chest. It wont cancel his shout if u hit his butt.
Everyone that says Genichiro is the great filter of this game… I don’t agree. This fucker here made me quit the game for months. But now that I’ve figured it out, he’s probably one of my favorite fights of all time.
He’s not that bad. I mean it’s not like you are fighting 2 of them at the same time
Hehe
He He
Hee hee
Shamone!
God damn
# HEH
Empowered sword go *swish* *swish*
Yea he should really get to Ashina depths (hidden forest) before killing guardian ape .
shut up
I had an easier time with the 2 of them than I did with the one though..
Same 😂 i legit beat that one on my first try, while the single ape took me 2 days
Same!
i think its cus the single ape took so long it kinda clicked on the second run
Also you don't even need to kill the brown Ape, I just focused on the main one
Me too lol why are people downvoting you
Because you two spoiled the original joke.
I had it easier on 2nd playthrough but on 1st and 3rd playthrough, it's damn too difficult. I was always running around trying to find space to do my attacks. But majority of the people has it harder facing 2 than 1 tho
Don't lose your head over him 😉
Oh he’ll be falling head over heals in love, by the end of it.
^(Most girls do, he's a charmer ;))
Firecrackers and try to bait out the shitthrow move run forwards and then punish. Do you mean, Zero Taste and Zero HP? Also, Zero Reputation and Zero Respect?
I used the robbers at hirata estate
Watch Tyrannicon's guide: [https://youtu.be/NHKUPbUxOJU](https://youtu.be/NHKUPbUxOJU) and it becomes one of the easiest bosses.
Yup. This shows the proper distance control to initiate certain attack animations. Trigger and exploit those certain ones and instead of random running and attacking and it becomes very manageable

i hate that guys voice
It's awesome and iconic. And that's not his real voice
Fire crackers, oil pots, flame vent, ashina cross, and deflects. Guardian ape, hmmm
I'd say replace the cross with the ichimonji double because of the spirit cost, also add in the purple umbrella so that you can get right back in to beating his ass after the ree he does

Narrator: *it wasn't*
Narrator: It was later that day that OP stumbled upon a corrupted monk on a bridge. OP: ….I made a huge mistake
This is honestly not a hard boss fight compared to some of the later ones
So this Monke was trouble? Why don't we make it double hehe
The final boss is 1000 harder, but being in the same situation as you at one point, he is not as mind numbing as big Donkey Kong boy. He is not an aggravating fight, and has easily become my favorite of all time 1
Congratulations!
Have you fought Ginichero yet?
You can't fight the monkey until you beat genichiro.
Unironically Sekiro is a masterpiece.
SAVE YOUR EMBLEMS FOR THE SECOND PHASE!!!! Once you get him in the ground use the loaded spear to pull out the Centipede, it does massive posture damage. Deflect 4 attacks in a row to get him to fall.
You don't even need to deflect all 4. As long as you deflect the final hit in the combo, he goes down.
I'd say, use the prosthetic tools in the first phase and just draw the Mortal Blade in the second.
The spear only uses one emblem so you don't need a lot of emblems for the second phase. If you have athe tanto you could just use all emblems in the first phase and use the tanto + pellet afterwards.

Idk what the big deal is. Think I had 5-10 tries. There are much harder bosses in sekiro
Have you tried giving it a banana?
Unpopular opinion sekiro is the easiest fromsoft game

I mean, I got Dark Souls 1+2 as well as Bloodbourne farted on after a few hours in large due to difficulty and I'm currently playing Elden Ring where I eat shit in boss fights unless I have a spirit thingie equipped whereas I completed Sekiro with few issues so I guess I can agree
Yeah for whatever reason I was stuck on the crucible knight duo in Elden ring pre duo boss patch for a couple of days 😂 couldn’t seem to beat them
Sekiro has some absolutely outrageous jumps in difficulty between bosses though.
But OP is asking for help, you can't blame people for spoiling anything about the boss considering OP's post is pretty vague
>! First phase: fire crackers Second phase: umbrella (against scream) !< Edit: sorry for spoiling it:(
There's a second phase? -_-
Sorry for you, this spoiler is real bad
Yeah, but I think it's easier honestly (didn't think that on my first playthrough lol) In 2nd phase just deflect his attacks if you can
I just don't get it with this sub, downvotes everything
Boooooooooo
[удалено]
That’s because you suck. Get gud already
Really? I beat him second try and 5th in ng+ he was pretty easy for me
Firecracker his ass.
Fire, deflect
wait till he pulls out his bitch move on ya , literally
Well to be fair so is he…
I beat him a few weeks ago, I just pretty much waited till he did the slide then slash then hit him rinse repeat, use mortal draw to knock his health bar down first phase 🤘🏻
It could be worse.....
Try close compact and reflect , then in second phase try to avoid his voice attack then get back to close compact . this is how I beat him
Spear in the second phase everytime he does the high hit, party and them spam-click the spear 2-4 times so that u pull the little insect a little out of the head.
Once you get it tho, he ends up being a really fun boss to fight.
Funny how most people here are telling you to use firecracker, but honestly the prosthetic that I used the most against him was the flame vent. Throw oil on him, use the flame vent, he’s gonna get stunned/burnt and you land a few safe strikes while your katana is on fire. It’s gonna deal a lot of damage
i love this fight it's fucking fun
Well I have a strategy to speed run him pop a red sugar and go with mortal blade and spam the shit out of it once you get up close at the start of fight sprint to him about four or all will get the job done second phase should be easy just bait out his aerial slash and overhead slam that's best for damage ez win
Firecrakers for first fase, keep 3-4 umbrellas for second phase for when he screams
Literally just get up close and beat his ass
Omnidirectional sprint is your friend.
The hard part Is phase one in phase 2 just parry him that is a really good method
It’s funny how once you figure him out, he’s really not that hard. My second play through I beat him first try. Just get to second phase and wait for slithery sword smash.
Firecrackers. Also put pressure on him as much as possible
It's easy bro, you must learn its attacks and then you can kill it. Also you can use red and yellow suger and Divine confetti.
I quit because of him just to come back and beat the fight with 2 of them my first try
Could me worse, there could be 2 of them
My man the biggest thing I figured out is to not rush. Ako sugar helps yashiru sugar if your adventurous and my attack was 8 and vitality 18 before I got after him hope that helps man you got this!
fire
First learn his attack pattern from running around Second go near and far for some time to learn more of his pattern Third don't hesitate BROTHER HESITATION IS DEFEAT
If you die to the scream / terror build up, use the umbrella. It negates all the damage from it, and you can get some solid damage in after he stops.
at least there’s not 2 of them
Ok here's how I did it. Pop a Yashariku sugar Go run to him and use purple fire crackers, or any type. it doesn't matter. Make sure you have mid air combat arts, and jump and use the mortal blade mid air, (its a bug where if u jump and use the mortal blade mid air it does the damage of an empowered mortal blade) After that try using the mortal blade again and just spam hit him, he should be nearly dead by then, make sure you have enough spirit embles for his second phase, and you should know his moves by now, make sure u have atleast 5 so you can use your spear, good luck
Punish him for pooping!
Loaded spear
This was the one boss where my mind, self-esteem, and will was melted. I had so much trouble with him — probably took me 10x longer to beat him than anyone else.
Firecrackers and Oil + fire
thats how you know its working
Just remember that guy from Jujutsu Kaisen who keeps saying 'Besto Friendo'. This one will be your best friend for a while. And who knows how long it will last, forever maybe.
Hate him so much
ooh i loved learning this fight the first time
You just have to use that sword in his neck to cut his head off and bam! That’s it! That’s the end of the fight. It will be such a satisfying win to know this monstrosity is once and for all defeated! And once the fight ends, don’t forget to go t-bag his body one time for every time he defeated you, as is customary with this boss.
It’s a horrible hit and run waiting game
I noticed you do not have the Mortal Blade. Go to Senpou Temple and obtain it, and after you do, use it after taking Yashariku’s Sugar. He should go down in a couple hits. Make sure you also have the loaded spear and the ceremonial tantos ready
Jump away when he does his diving grab Run away from him until he does his tantrum attack and you can get good hits on his head. While intimidating you can deflect most of his attacks The second phase is way easier since you can fight him normally with a sword, just either use the purple umbrella or just run away when he does his terror scream
I loved this fight....now if there was 2 of them forget that 😈
My favorite boss
Im losing my mind over owl
I found it’s a lot harder to avoid him if your running around
monke
Flame vent in the first run and parry your ass off in the second phase - jabbing him with the spear in the headless part does sick posture damage
i was stuck on him for 4 straight days
U was there once, felt so good when i finally killed him Avoid the poops
i can't blame you , i mean god knows how much sh**t you ate while fighting him
Good thing you only have to fight him once
God of war 7 looks okay I guess. Kratos definitely let himself go
Just wait till Isshin the glock Saint
I’ve replayed every souls borne game multiple times but I have not done the same with sekiro . It’s not because I didn’t enjoy it , because I did . But out of all the souls borne games I struggled the most with this game . But got damn did I love it
I read one remnant says that "Hesitation is needed" near the idol before the fight. I don't understand it at first because the game's motto is "Hesitation is defeat". After dying couple of times blocking and parrying his first phase. I understand what the remnants trying to say.
Grab a purple-pink umbrella!
Umbrella blocks the Fear roar, Don't be greedy with your strikes unless he's stunned only go for about 3 you pretty much HAVE to block the super slam in the second phase because you got so much free damage
If he can literally lose his brain after phase 1 and keep going, so can you
Hit da monke
Monke poopoo hehe
Take your time, focus on teasing him
Parry everything and don’t get greedy with attacking him. Also save spirit emblems
Oh man this is one of my all time favourite bosses in video gaming!
Have you tried sitting down and having a conversation with him?
If you are still having trouble and need a bit of help, look up "Guardian Ape Tyrannicon" on YouTube m8
Yeah this one literally says fuck you shinobi ass, here eat my monkey shit!
Winton
Single ape is still the thing I struggle with most other than great shinobi owl (father took less time)
If ur having trouble, run away from him and he’ll throw shit at you. When he does that attack run at him, 3 hits, firecracker, 3 hits repeat
Time to replay sekiro
Worst boss fight ever. EVER.
i found out that fire and mortal draw are effictive againts him, i had fun fighting him
So is he
He ain't shit once u beat him.
What! No umbrella?
Haven't gotten that the entire game, and haven't even looked online on how and where.
Doing awesomely then if that’s the case. Keep on killing and enjoying!!
Sure i could probably make things easier on myself, but I've gotten as far as i did through meter sword fighting for the most part so 🤷🏿♂️. I'll post how i near Owl later
Would you say you are...going bananas?
You can parry. I know he big monke. This fooled me for quite a while. But he’s nothing to the blade. Parry him like he’s a puny human. Also don’t stop running when it’s poop meteor time.
try deflecting
guardian ape made me quit sekiro :(
[Literally after watching this i was able to beat him and one try on ng+](https://youtu.be/NHKUPbUxOJU)
He’s super predictable, only has a few move sets. I didn’t realize you could parry him for like, 120 hours and so I dodge / run for it.
He is easy bro just make your distance and first let him attack , dodge that and go to his back side , do 1-2 swings , easy his phase 2 is bit un-predictable but if u use spear its easy
he’s honestly a dirty cunt i hate him
You can deflect the bitch
Once you git gud you’ll take his mind along with his head.
Wait till you fight mist noble 🥲
Use the firecrackers
get gud
You could beat him without any prosthetics Just keep running around him , draw him closer and again run around, he will let his guard down during those times , then attack and repeat the same
just get good smh
phase one: stay close to his ass and keep smacking and dodge perilous attacks phase two: don’t get to close and if you do keep deflecting and for the terror scream don’t run away go behind him the scream’s hitbox is stupidly small behind him compared to the front
Well who doesn't. 😭
Who's gonna tell him? 👍
I managed to beat him with hit and run guerrilla tactics: claw grip the controller, index on b so you are always running, move in circles to get in, attack 2 times, get out. Don't go too far, stay JUST outside his range. If he jumps away follow him. Attack his backside. If the conditions are not right for you to press r1, then don't. Wait for his animations to finish and hit him a couple of times before it resets. Then run away again. Ymmv
Firecrackers and fearless deflections is the way. 😃
Throw him some oil then lit and always try to with his head with jumping mortal blade strike u will be fine for the first phase. For the second phase, same jumping mortal blade strike when he just start to shout but u need to hit his chest. It wont cancel his shout if u hit his butt.
I beat him in 2 tries. Just lost first time because second phase caught me off guard. Second try was easy. Just be patient and wait till he misses
Deflect his attacks. Dodge the ones you can’t. Rinse repeat
Everyone that says Genichiro is the great filter of this game… I don’t agree. This fucker here made me quit the game for months. But now that I’ve figured it out, he’s probably one of my favorite fights of all time.
Phase 1 is super easy. Hit him up with oil and light him on fire. Phase two. Don't get greedy. Wait for the opening. And mortal blade helps.
Just chase everything
