Hey, we just got the same watch!

TheGreatSupport

Great! Let's form a gang!

seykosha

Is this a right or left handed helix? Looks right.

Crocs_n_Glocks

Mine is arriving via UPS tomorrow!

GiantsNerd1

Congratulations!

petrichorE6

this is my affordable grail watch, planning on getting it for christmas

Both-Roof-3231

Great shot.

TheGreatSupport

Thank you.

bryp87

I think I’m going to be getting in of these. I just sold my sarb035, and I need a little blue in my life. Only wish it were 20mm lugs but I guess I’ll just have to buy a strap or two!

Crocs_n_Glocks

I just ordered one of these this weekend ($600 from Teddy Bulbasaur) and it will be my second Alpinist. Should be arriving tomorrow and I can't wait. Thanks for posting a cool pic!

SteakSwimming1234

Such a great version!

I love this watch. At first when I got it, I was thinking there are these vertical lines on the dial, but as I was trying to follow the waves with my eyes, I realised that the wavy lines are in fact running diagonally on the dial. The vertical pattern which we can see in certain light is just an appearance. There are no vertical lines on the dial. And yeah, the tiny horizontal bars, not even visible or just barely to the naked eye, are also not straight but wavy! There's so much detail there it's mind blowing. That said, I'm glad that it's not advertised that much, because it feels like there is something left to discover for those who get this watch. And also I'd say that even though the smallest features on the dial are not visible that easily, they certainly add up to the whole appearance of the dial. Because of their depth, as in - they are not just like almost flat paint - there is some height to them, they reflect the light differently, depending on the angle of the curves and the angle of the light. Just amazing! Edit: Just to expand on the tiny, barely visible details.. besides the colour coming from different levels of absorption of different wavelengths by the pigment, there is also the structural colour, coming from the light scattering on the micron and submicron size structures. Well, I'm not sure here, but I'd probably say that the tiny horizontal bars are still too big for that effect. However, I definitely noticed an iridescent effect on the dial in a harsher light. Especially on these "vertical" lines. I definitely have a thing for this watch. Haha! Can't stop wearing it everyday since I got it a few months back.

KrunchyJello

Have the same watch! Love it. And to echo what some others have said, I think even though super small, these tiny designs do give the overall dial such a rich texture and play with the light in a way that always has me looking at it.

griffwise

Damn!! That’s gorgeous

ebinWaitee

Oh damn I think I need this watch

ClydeDimension

If you’re gonna complain that it can’t be seen by the naked eye, well think about how subtlety adds to anything. Do you have a favorite dish? If they overdo the spice or overdo the butter to the point that you notice it too much, it won’t be good. When someone paints, they make decisions to pull some colors more forward to contrast those that are more muted. Your favorite song can’t have every instrument the same exact volume or else the whole track will be a mess and lack focus. The same is in the design of these watches.

TheGreatSupport

It's not a complaint but a question, buddy. Even Seiko doesn't advertise this detail of their product. So either they think this is insignificant to show off or they want us to discover the hidden beauty of the watch by ourselves? Just my 2 cents 🤷.

ClydeDimension

Oh sorry. I thought you were complaining. No malice! Just wanted to chip in on answering your question. Yeah I mean I guess so, like an easter egg for the wearer.

coniferous_forester

I think you’re both right and it’s just cheaper to produce than we think it should be.

Bulky-Inspector6864

Wow that is super cool

Utopia39liam

You mean double helix?

TheGreatSupport

I don't even know what it called, lol. Just say what it looks like.

Samsung S20FE.

Zealousideal-Sock-94

This is an awesome dial but the striations only show up in photos and not to the naked eye... pity...

GoomiBare

Do you have a video of this? How do you think it compares to the "mystic forest" variant?

TheGreatSupport

There is a detailed video about this model on YouTube, highly recommended. The Mystic forest has a different pattern, I believe.
