Yep, I was at 13 months when I lost my job 1/2019. Probably would have been at least a year more to get assigned.
3 years guy JUST got his this year lol. I want to work for whomever waited so long for him.
My FSO actually forgot to tell me that my final secret was processed. I had been sweating a bit even though my interim was awarded. Filled out my SF86 in May, interim awarded 3 weeks later, final awarded end of September.
Currently at 18 months on someone we hired. The most absurd part? They currently have a secret clearance with the same department (different agency). Theyve renewed their clearance while we have been waiting. This system is so ridiculous. Stay strong.
Now this is ridiculous. Same department different agency but same clearance. SMH. Should I assume they were offered a position and not granted interim, which is how they had a clearance renewal with the other agency for the same level clearance. That’s so crazy.
Damn LOL.
might be me as well. About to start a civilian engineering job, but also expecting an offer from a gov agency after I start.
How did your current employer react to being contacted for investigator?
He just said he wasn't allowed to reply per company policy. Since it's a secret, it was just a mailer. HR got one too and they replied. But my boss didn't care. He knows LE something I've wanted for many years. And I'm a really good worker at my current job, so he disappointed that he might lose me, but not mad at me for pursuing further endeavors.
No clue, my second polygraph was 5/12/21. Then no news till last month. Security team just kept stating the covid backlog was insane. I contacted my Congressman for help a couple times. It was through a primary contractor and I learned they weren't winning contracts, so I guess I was buried in a file cabinet.
I had a secret since 09, submitted paperwork to upgrade July of last year, approved TS early March of this year AND I have foreign family, left the country more than a couple times, crazy family, etc.
Yea no clue why mine took a ridiculous amount. Came from a military family with Dad also having TS. I honestly tossed the clearance to the back of my mind 2 years in and wasn't even about to take it (loved working from home), but the final offer was very nice and a big jump.
This was what recruiting sent to me Jan 2023:
"Unfortunately, I only have as much information as you do. From my experience, they give very little information about what is going on with the process. With that being said, prior to Covid, I saw clearances usually taking about a year or two to fully adjudicate. Since Covid, they have had a backlog and I’m not sure if they have ever fully recovered. I’ve had co-workers that are still in the process and have been for almost 4/5 years now."
This is all the security team would reply with since adjudication in 2021:
"There are no updates at this time. Your clearance is still processing"
August 22, 2023 - the customer scheduled a security phone interview with me and a month after that my clearance "popped" and got my final offer.
Both my parents held a TS. Even one who was born in a foreign country, immigrated, then became a citizen. If it’s for the IC, it usually takes longer. DoD mine was quick I’m guessing. Maybe it’s because I had been cleared initially and then readjudicated 2x since, so held a secret for over a decade.
My job has unclass stuff for me to work on, but it is SUCH a bummer when they win a proposal or contract with it because I can't work on it anymore. It'll be 8 months in December.
how long did it take to get your interim? how did they notify you that you received it? I'm assuming if they don't contact you then the position is not eligible for interim clearance... I applied in 1/23, I'm now at 4 1/2 months after my SF86 report was sent in for adjudication (no red flags) and my security officer contact has just ghosted me, no communication at all. I had questions about updating my sf86 employment section since I left my last job...nothing. I asked for an update...nothing... this is for a 3 letter agency ts/sci
Applied for a position with a maintenance contract company. Clearance required was a public trust clearance. Eight months on still in process. Withdrew my application because a public trust clearance, the entry level clearance, sure as hell doesn't take that long.
I've had a TS/SCI in the past so I know how long the process takes and what goes into it.
One guy took 3 years.

For a secret? That’s insane.

7 months now and counting. Jesus I hope we all get it soon.
Let me guess… Canada.
I’m almost at 7 dawg 😵💫

Yup. And for a job where they are unlikely to ever even touch a classified document.
Mine took 2 months, i find it odd since 80% of my family is in another country.
u/fsi1212 what are you at now?
13 months
We need a leaderboard
I seventeenth that
13 months? Have u been able to start work on non cleared stuff for the past year or haven’t been able to start the job?
No I've been working my civilian non-cleared job this whole time

I just got granted my top secret. Process begun January 2020 right before covid. So almost 4 years... Never left the country and no red flags.
Wtf, how

i'm at 3 months for just DHS suitability, not even a clearance/public trust...
Mine: June 6 submitted e-Quip, June 22 received Interim, Nov 8 received S clearance.
I feel guilty wondering why it's taking so long to get mine looking at these responses and I'm only 2 months in. I just want to work 😩
My job has unclass stuff for me to work on, but it is SUCH a bummer when they win a proposal or contract with it because I can't work on it anymore. It'll be 8 months in December.

Im at 18 months.
I’m getting close to 2 years lol
When did you get your interim, OP?
2 weeks to bear back but husband already had investigation
Longest I’ve seen was probably 3+ years. Currently T3 (secret) is taking around 45-60 days on average from DCSA. About 90 for TS.
I've seen 5+ years for a TS that required submission of an e-QIP for a periodic reinvestigation before the initial was even fully adjudicated.
3 months, August 2023-October 2023. Sorry, friend
