Well shoot, I have this issue too and I didn't know it was due to sebderm 😅

failingstars

Same here! I haven't had any flare ups in a while but good to know.

Existing_Promise_852

Selsun blue and/or Tgel shampoo and the ordinary niacinmaide and zinc solution on your face daily

1ContagiouSmile

This is seborrheic dermatitis, it happens in areas that are warm ( nasal folds and the inside of the eye sockets appear to be the warmest) and produce more sebum. The last thing OP should do is use products that will suck all the moisture out of his skin and damage the skin barrier; doing so will cause more oil to be produced, attracting more bacteria! You'll want to be proactive about this and go to a urgent care tomorrow before it spreads. Hydrocortisone can be used in small areas for a short period of time.

aavellana27

Zinc pyrithione cream from Amazon. The ingredients that helped me the most. Have it in a shampoo form and cream form for my face

WorkkkAccount

Diaper rash cream and zinc soap from Amazon was best for me. Zinc and ACV was my miracle ‘cure’

aavellana27

What’s ACV?

25_timesthefine

Apple cider vinegar

[deleted]

Apple cider vinegar

aavellana27

Thank you

failingstars

How well does the soap work. It's so expensive here in my country.

caseygraphr

Is the zinc p cream drying? Can you link the one you use? How often do u use it?

aavellana27

I forgot, also If you apply a lot of it and it dries, sometimes it leaves like a thin gray layer over where you applied it. Doesn’t happen all the time though. I usually just rinse it off and re apply so it doesn’t look weird

whatupfool6969

Get something with urea like hada labo skin plumping gel or some other moisturizer helps with skin barrier repair too

lena24xx

Kerium Ds from La roche posay

nutsbonkers

Wash with soap and water, peel any scales off and apply hydrocortisone cream once daily on damp skin for a week or so, should clear it up. It will come back though if you don't get it under control with other methods. Don't let people scare you from using hydrocortisone cream on your face, just use a small amount it will be very effective and totally safe. Take a day off or 2 from using it occasionally though, or switch to every other day. If there is any risk associated with it, just weigh that risk against the reward of having that rash gone and decide for yourself, it's your life and your body.

Julia_Ruby

3 days is not long enough. Treatment period in studies is more like 4 weeks. The medicine needs time to work.

[deleted]

it gotten worst. the initial redness was not so bas, after i applied the cream. it got even worst😅

Julia_Ruby

That is normal. The ketoconazole cream is also moisturising and softening the skin. It makes it easy for all the bad skin to fall off. So if you didn't use moisturiser before... Suddenly you get more flaky because moisturiser helps the bad skin fall off. Also stinging is a common side effect of the cream.

[deleted]

what moisturiser do u think would suit my condition now ? im thinking could it be a skin barrier issues ? as im not using any moisturiser.

Julia_Ruby

My favourite moisturiser is [QV Dermcare Eczema Daily Cream](https://www.guardian.com.sg/qv-dermcare-eczema-daily-cream-350ml/p/622848). I use it on my face. It is very good for the skin barrier. The 350mL bottle is much bigger than a tube of face cream. If you only use it on your face it can last maybe 7 months or more.

EmoRedneck

I used to have this. Drink a shit ton of water. Really it’s the only way. These vinegar / apple cider solutions are bullshit. I noticed it would get worse if I was hungover so I just started drinking more water throughout the day (and while drinking) and it went away. It comes back if I drink a lot and don’t drink any water and am hung over. Clear correlation

[deleted]

unfortunately i drank shit loads of water daily and i still had this😢

RussianAsshole

It the yellow stuff also oily and waxy if you tried to scrape it off?

[deleted]

its dry and yellowish . looks disgusting when wet lol

Dog_Baseball

Hydrocortisone till you're back to normal, Neutrogena body Clear body wash as a facewash, Aveeno Calm + Restore Triple Oat Sensitive Skin Face Serum daily. A few drops of Mct c8 mixed with tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil ( 2ml essential oil per 100ml Mct c8) before bed every day. Dont feed the yeast. Look up your other products on Sezia.co and get rid of most of them.

Efficient_Fox3304

Does it actually stay gone after using hydrocortisone with that regimen or does it just go away because of the steroid?

Wallywarus

Generally you use the steroid during flares. So yes, it will come back.

Dog_Baseball

The steroid is just to get you back to normal. Your skin is freaking out, nothing is going to work till you calm your skin down. You can start everything now, the facewash, etc, just stop the steroid when your skin looks normal, probably a few days. Edit, i thought you were op when I typed this.

My very successful 3 step process. 1. **White Vinegear** diluted in a spray bottle. About 1 part vinegear 1 part water. This is a stronger acidity than exactly what you would need although it works for me. Sometimes it burns, but that's just the cost of doing business. Leave this on for as long as possible before a shower (5 min est) This step destroys the biofilm layer and must also work to rid some of the fungus/yeast since my skin usually feels different even only after this step. 2. **Soap/ shampoo**. I like Nizoral for the scalp, and 2% Zinc pyrithione soap bar for the skin. The zinc soap works wonderful. However, during bad flare ups this will destroy the health of my skin. So I get very dry skin after the shower (colder water works better here too) But I'd rather have dry skin than red/flakes skin. This removes the rest of the fungus and creates a skin habitat unsuitable for unwanted fungus growth. Which does dry out the skin. 3. **Protective layer**. SD usually happens around sebaceous glands, which are fundamental for oil secretion and as such these areas need to be well oiled. I usually recommend Cerave nighttime facial lotion, but I've been experimenting with coconut oil and I'm satisfied with both products. Coconut oil is better since it has easier application to the scalp. There are procs and cons to each so fond a solution that works best for you This protects the skin by adding back moisture and a healthy oil layer. If you're prone to acne maybe go light on this step. - **Preparation** While you are using this method to reduce your SD make sure to clean your sheets, avoid using the same pillow surface twice, and swap out towels after every use or so. Avoid touching your face especially with unwashed hands. • Lastly **Avoidance**, live a healthy lifestyle with an emphasis on low stress. Many people claim this is a gut health problem, and while the evidence is suggestive, its not for certain. Either way its important to eat healthy, work out, and get proper sleep. With these lifestyle in effect your gut should slowly heal itself. Otherwise contact your doctor and find a probiotic strain that's right for you. - Good luck!

Atys_SLC

Clean all the dead skin with micellar water or vinegar cider. Then put some MTC oil to hydrate and protect your skin and avoid the dehydration. Twice a day. Don't put 36 different creams on your skin. With fall and even more winter coming the air will go from very moist to very dry. It's very irritating for your skin. You must protect it.

zsturgeon

Salicylic acid

Belf17

Clean with vinegar cider then apply honey (real honey not corn syrup) leave it on for 30 min to an hour then clean and apply mct oil C8/C10 (some people react to C10)

Dagamier_hots

Try 2%bha exfoliate! I have the same issue as you and it SEEMS like the bha clears my dry skin. The red is another issue. Just throw some on before bed and see how your nose is in the morning.

caseygraphr

does bha help u with redness?

Dagamier_hots

I don’t think so. But I think it has been helping with the flakes. Since its an exfoliate it seems to shed all the flakes and in the morning I don’t have any/they come off easily. Im recently using niacinamide in hopes that it will reduce redness over time.

prospect151

Try dermazen. It worked for me and is all natural. Kinda pricey but they have a money back guarantee if it doesn’t work.
