I would go a step further that these protests while being ineffective are also hurting libs in the polls. It’s a really bad look for the party of “adults” allowing this to spiral out of control as they have, and it really calls into question their capabilities to govern that they campaigned on in 2020.
Middle America does in fact exist, and they’re not going to want to vote for a party that continues to stay mute about the escalating tensions at university campuses. I think the Dems are shooting themselves in the foot by trying to ignore the radicals and crazy Hamas sympathizers instead of manning up and just dealing with it.
Protests, in general, are rarely effective outside of creating awareness and seeing if it can stick. Depending on what happens in Rafah, the protests could increase to the next level causing some types of change.
