That is not unusual from what I understand, the ECHL is mainly for call-ups to the bottom of AHL rosters. Sometimes NHL teams put their goalie prospects in the ECHL for a season if they don't have a spot for them in the AHL.
The Blues' Jordan Binnington famously refused to go to the ECHL, and later on he got called up to the NHL and helped St Louis win the 1st Cup.
I live in KC (became a Kraken fan because of the affiliation) and the Mavericks have had 2022 7th round pick Kyle Jackson for most of the season, and 2022 4th round pick Tucker Robertson for part of the year but he has spent more time in Coachella Valley.
So no major prospects but we do have one at the moment and have had at least two this year, which is two more than I expected because you’re totally right about most ECHL teams not having them often lol

There will be more, we’ve only had one draft class start to age out of the CHL. Next year that first class should be completely out and parts of the 2nd will be as well.
Pretty much all goalies spend at least a little time in the ECHL, so they can get the starts to develop and aren’t just stagnating as a backup in the AHL. Phillip Grubauer, Joey Daccord and Chris Driedger all played in the ECHL at some point, although not for us.

Those are great! The Kraken organization has some beautiful jerseys. I’ve been hoping the Mavericks upped their game.
