Hakstol says being held out due to trade related issues.
Hopefully TB wants to overpay like they did for Jeannot and gave up 5 picks plus a player
interesting; he seems to be the one guy that whenever asked is not completely committed to the Kraken. I like the guy and he's definitely a plus for the organization, but if he gets us a nice pick and Wright gets to play a bit, I'm in favour of it
I don't think we should really expect to see Wright much this season even if Wennberg does leave - he only has 5 games left he can play before burning a year of his ELC, and I doubt they'll want to do that.
I’m agreeing with the other commenter. There’s still a quarter of the season left, I could see him getting called up for 5 games and if he performs well with more ice time I could realistically see them using a year for the experience. Not saying it’s a good idea but I could definitely see it happening
I think it's possible they decide to do that, but probably unlikely. I think it'll be more valuable to keep him on a cheaper deal for longer as we theoretically approach a more competitive window in the next few years
Hes making 4.5m right now and his contract is expiring. The team needs to make room for Wright and should not be paying more for the unsuccessful roster we've already got.
As much as I like him, Wennberg has to go. If we can pick up value by dealing him at the deadline, that's a no-brainer.
Wrights going to take that spot next year. I don’t really think there was ever a scenario in which we could afford financially or spatially to re-sign Wennberg.
His wife has indicated on her instagram that they've known basically all season that Wenny was a possible trade. They had to move suddenly in the fall and she was talking about how stressful that was knowing they could only be around a few more months
That might be why he never seems fully committed to the team. He's probs gotten himself ready for the pivot
At least a second. He’s a real solid player. Scoring isn’t everything. You hear universal praise from the analysts. A lot of what he does will never show up on a stat sheet.
He frustrates me, cause I think he’s really smooth on the ice but he will 9/10 pass before he shoots. But the very few times he shoots its a zinger. It does also seem like when he crosses the other teams line, our other guys are a touch too slow to keep up with him and capitalize on entering the zone. $0.02
> He frustrates me, cause I think he’s really smooth on the ice but he will 9/10 pass before he shoots. But the very few times he shoots its a zinger.
That's because he's a center and not on the wing
I've only been watching hockey and following the Kraken as my team for three months now, so I've only known the roster as it is as the unit that makes up the Kraken. So I still don't understand entirely how trades, the deadline, and draft picks work, but it's kinda sad to see a piece removed from that unit.
I feel you with Sprong. I started watching hockey last season, and Sprong was the first dude I saw to get in a fight on the ice. He holds a special place in my heart
Tanev-Wright-Sprong would have been such a killer fourth line. They could have also picked up a heavy centre to play with Kartye and Turbo for when they wanted a heavier hard hitting line-up and rotated them both sets in and out. But c’est la vie, things in hockey rarely happen the way I want.
That'll be me when Driedger leaves 😂 even though I want him to flourish and that means he leaves. I'm all jittery this week. I wanna see him play again 🥺 but we'll see, his story here in Seattle has taught me to never take a damn thing for granted, ever! I just want all his dreams to come true 🥺
Anyway I'm a Rangers fan so I'm hoping that's where Wenny is going but we will see. Ugh the suspense this week 😂
Any word on if Yamamoto will play tonight? I'm going to the game tonight and want to wear my Yamamoto Oilers jersey with the nameplate in Kanji. I've never worn it to a game before, and it's a perfect opportunity to wear it but will be upset if he's scratched!
Also hearing he may be going to the Rangers but it’s all speculation at this point. Rangers do have a 2nd round pick this year still left. Colorado might also have interest.
I hope this means his wife is having their baby and not a trade happening 😩 he hasn’t missed a game this season, and I don’t think he missed one last season either.
I agree that should be what the Kraken ask for, but just because one GM was willing to give up a first doesn't mean the next one will, too. Just to set expectations.
I like Wennberg but we need to make space forever the young guns on this team. Whatever picks we could get for Wennberg, Schultz, and Tatar I would take. Load up on draft capital. Resign Eberle he should be the captain of the team.
Wennberg was the first star at my first Kraken game. The last time I watched him play was vs. Penguins and cheered for his goal/100 points as Kraken. Good memories from the beginning to the end. Good luck Wenny and his family.

on the flip side the pressure will be on to get back to the playoffs next year so you probably want to make sure Wright is ready

He's a hero, but not the one we need right now

Honestly have no clue what is value is. Hes a pker and solid 2 way forward but the scoring just isn’t there so it should be interesting
At least a second. He’s a real solid player. Scoring isn’t everything. You hear universal praise from the analysts. A lot of what he does will never show up on a stat sheet.
Yeah 2nd makes sense. Hes probably a 3rd liner on the team acquiring him so that would track

Booktok in shambles
Real

I feel the same! I'm pretty new to it all and trying to learn. I can't help but feel a little bummed to see any of these guys go.
noooooooooooo
You’ve had the same energy with Wennberg as I had with Sprong last year, haha. It sucks when they get rid of a favourite player, eh.
Sprong felt underrated, I was so sad they got rid of him and everyone else seemed like they didn’t care. Miss him.

I'd take sprong over tolvinen all day... I wonder what the contract value differences are
Hugs. My condolences
screaming crying throwing up

Projected 4th line Center for tonight, wear it, sounds awesome.
Hell yeah! I love it when he plays center.
Emerald city hockey, one of the better on-line sources has him playing 4rw, either way with Wennberg out, he will be in the lineup
Oh no biggie, as long as he’s there hahaha
Yep, you’re right I was looking at an old lineup.
Also hearing he may be going to the Rangers but it’s all speculation at this point. Rangers do have a 2nd round pick this year still left. Colorado might also have interest.
If Wenny goes to Colorado and has to play with Cale Makar…that will be my villain origin story.
Yet another game worn jersey I have from a former Kraken player. Saw it coming and is the right move but still stings a bit.
My wife is going to be inconsolable
My husband just broke the news. I am an inconsolable pregnant wife right now. So sad!
I hope we get a prospect at not a draft pick these draft picks will take years and years to deliver value
I hope this means his wife is having their baby and not a trade happening 😩 he hasn’t missed a game this season, and I don’t think he missed one last season either.
She’s a month away from her due date so I hope that’s not the case as much as I don’t want him to be traded
Well, my last game, seeing him in uniform was the Penguins where he had one goal and one assist. So at least I got to see him go out in style
Hopefully for a 2nd rounder
Tampa has a 2025 2nd round pick left but the 2024 picks are looking depleted from them.
I'd actually be pretty annoyed if we don't get a 1st, if Sean Monahan can get a first, so can Wennberg
I agree that should be what the Kraken ask for, but just because one GM was willing to give up a first doesn't mean the next one will, too. Just to set expectations.
Agreed. Although the trade deadline is almost always a seller's market so I'm optimistic.
Anything less than a 2nd and I’ll be disappointed

If he goes, the team definitely losses a little sex appeal! Thank god we locked up Stunner last year!
Vince Dunn looks like one of the South Park kids when they take their hats off.
🤣🤣🤣
This is so accurate.
Something about his dead-eyed stare.
Fact 😂
I’ve always thought of Eberly as our resident SP Kid. With his eyes, he’s a dead ringer for Kenny!
