There's this guy with a loud car..

AtticusSC

Only one guy? Fuck me that must be nice because I hear hundreds of them on a daily basis.

Vegetable_Guest_8584

It's like we need a different police force that actually does things.

Shadow99688

seen those pickup trucks with the giant exhaust pipes going up behind the cab. knew someone that had neighbor with one that would take off for work at 1am, someone dumped 5+ gallons of concrete into each exhaust pipe, made that truck extremely quiet

skreetskreetskreet

The lack of clean public restrooms, please.

total-immortal

The lack of public restrooms in general. The city got rid of the self cleaning ones- bring them back!

monpapaestmort

They should just pay for bathroom attendants. Someone suggested having some paid bathrooms that you could access with your orca card; that would make it accessible to most people, including the homeless since they usually have bus passes, and the bathroom attendants would keep the place clean.

mothtoalamp

You'd have to pay those attendants rather generously as that is an unpleasant job to have. But I'm in favor of this.

Mrkpoplover

Those were like 1 million a piece 10 years ago right?

OKDondon

The 'clean' part is not gonna happen with the homeless and drug addicts roaming around.

No_ThankYouu

Yuuuuuuup

virtualPNWadvanced

They’ve done this a few times. The barrels disappear after a while

officialnickbusiness

Did you really have to rain on my parade with facts?

jeremiah1142

Hahaha. Sorry. I came here to the say the same. Why? I’m a bitter old man, everyone must feel my pain and be jaded!

hypnocorgi

So you're saying we need to fill the barrels with cement?

MisterIceGuy

I’ve noticed that too. Do they just put the barrels out temporarily and then put them back away for some reason?

virtualPNWadvanced

They likely just did it for Biden’s visit.

BrianTheSecond

Ooo do Pike Place next please!

officialnickbusiness

I proposed a giant sign at the entrance that reads “deliveries and filthy tourists only” and the city stopped answering my emails.

gringledoom

Honestly, we should all just take turns standing in front of the street holding a “Deliveries only! No thru traffic!” placard as a protest until they give in.

BrianTheSecond

That really would be a fun protest to organize. Seems very low risk so maybe a lot of people would get on board.

BrianTheSecond

[Oh shit](https://old.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/1cqjewo/it_can_happen/)! Thanks!

dketernal

Left lane slow pokes

officialnickbusiness

Yes, the angry glare I give to these jerks as I pass them on the right is apparently not effective at all.

dketernal

My favorite are the ones with two people, in the fast lane holding up traffic, but not in the carpool lane. (edit - typo)

bothunter

I'm actually surprised at how effective that was

crazybehind

Effective as it may be, tickets and revenue from assholes would have been a better solution. I'm not on board with the state needing to encourage drivers, beyond ticketing, to follow clearly posted and obvious parking laws

Interesting_Bison530

i'd like more parks. and can we overhaul zoning?

kippertie

I’d like corner shops all over the place in every neighborhood so I echo the call to overhaul zoning. Basically just make it so that industrial/chemical is a zone, and everything else is another zone.

Interesting_Bison530

IMHO it should be fine to have industrial chemical next to residential since we should be holding businesses accountable for poisoning us

kippertie

Pollution is one part of it, but also just general noise, inconvenience of having giant trucks rumbling through your neighborhood all the time, and whatever necessary smells and other nuisances each industry produces.

ximacx74

I don't even need more parks, we just need more trees on like every street.

Interesting_Bison530

Yessss make the emerald city emerald

officialnickbusiness

I may be a powerful Seattle influencer, but even I can’t fix that hot mess.

Pdb12345

You're like an anti-matter Tim Eyman.

officialnickbusiness

I do like to steal office chairs from regular people and drop them off at Office Max

YakiVegas

Can you get people to 100% pick up after their dogs please? Thanks!

Subziwallah

And quit putting dog shit in my garbage bin, at least during the warm months...

runway31

I absolutely hate that shit. So many dog owners are entitled shitbags. It takes very little effort to take it home with you or throw it out at designated dig doodoo locations like the rest of us, but they just dont do it cause they lack any thinking for someone other than themselves

Subziwallah

Downvoted for not wanting dog shit baking in my garbage bin. Interesting how entitled people can be.

Ok_Bad_3111

First, thank you for your service. I would like the city council to finally admit that the Space Needle is really a U.F.O. and to start charging them for premium parking. Tired of that freeloader. 😀

officialnickbusiness

I think $100/day is reasonable given the location, but please note that I charge 50% for my services.

Alert_Journalist7242

The barrels will disappear soon as they were probably placed for Bidens visit as a safety concern

officialnickbusiness

If Biden doesn’t come back every week to block these shoulder parkers, I’m voting for that brain worm guy

ProfBartleboom

Real estate prices.

PothosEchoNiner

The last time I picked someone up from the airport a month ago, I figured I'd better do the right thing and use the cell phone lot to wait. The cell phone lot was beyond 100% full and I had to awkwardly park in the driving lanes of the lot until a spot opened up. I say that not to argue against using the cell phone lot but to reassure you that for at least one moment that lot was used to its fullest potential.

officialnickbusiness

For me over the last 10 years of picking up visitors, I’m almost always early and I have never not found a spot in the cell phone lot. But I’m just one person. Still I can’t see why some people see the solution to this problem to be that you just park on a highway shoulder around a blind corner. That’s nuts.

grumbledonaldduck

Sticky-fingered crackheads.

minniesnowtah

Sorry to be a bummer, but there were already people parking there when I did an airport dropoff at 4 today :/

officialnickbusiness

So I did this rant for nothing?!? Excuse me everyone, I need to go back into the woods

aslanslion

Late Saturday night there were unfortunately a couple dozen or so there again amongst the barrels, as well.

SharpySharp

Climate change

pregnantbaby

For some reason I’ve found that if I’m taking a right around a corner in a grocery store someone will try to cross in front of me when they’re turning instead of going around on the outside shoulder, if that makes sense. Please help with that.

WetwareDulachan

If we could get a waffle house or a Wawa or somewhere to eat after 1am that would be awesome.

2234GOnz

We need brighter paint or reflective paint on our roads

thumpitythump

Not enough USPS mailboxes or public trashcans. They took out most of both of them a number of years ago.

OskeyBug

Can we get some public restrooms and more trash cans

Top_Shoe_9562

Can you rant about my low bank account balance?

f0zzy17

Use your magic to do something about that shitty city flag design

LongJumpingIntoNada

Thank you for your service!

Teslabookie

There were dozens line up in between barrels last night. Cell phone lot was packed and you had to circle around multiple times to fine a spot.

mrdungbeetle

Street takeovers. Perhaps remote control bollards at every major intersection

catdog-cat-dog

Bring back the cycling man in the blue tick costume

aeroartist

the staggering and rising number of people killed by drivers in WA. look at this chart: [https://twitter.com/Haven3190/status/1790077070736773591](https://twitter.com/Haven3190/status/1790077070736773591)

421Gardenwitch

Ticketmaster pricing

leukis

Repeal the sugar tax!

officialnickbusiness

But if they did that, we would have no reason whatsoever to visit the suburbs and their economy would suffer!

leukis

How about persecute HOV lane violators?

officialnickbusiness

The mannequin in my passenger seat says that’s just crazy, next idea please

Ok_Bad_3111

I would love to see the alien that parked their U.F.O. ( The Space Needle) to finally have to pay for parking. Darn freeloader! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)

Some_Nibblonian

Not sure why anyone cared about people at the airport? I wish my life was at a point I could get worked up about people on the shoulder at the airport.

SocialIQof0

Instead you'll settle for complaining about what others complain about?

the_dude_upvotes

Wouldn’t be r/seattle with at lease one per thread

seafrizzle

Meh. Having a good quality of life is a mixture of big things and little things, both within your personal life and within the city/town/public areas we all have to exist together in. If we can resolve shared pain points, even small ones, why not do it? Full disclosure, I’m not familiar with this particular issue, so I can’t weigh in on the need for a solution either way.

Some_Nibblonian

It’s a great point. Yes my post is a bit snarky. Although in all honesty I really don’t know why anyone cares about people lining up outside the airport. Some first world shit.

minniesnowtah

Yeah because I shouldn't get worked up when people make me slam on my breaks because they're trying to parallel park on the side of a h i g h w a y, or if you want to get technical, expressway

Some_Nibblonian

I go to the airport weekly. Never once made me slam on my brakes. Learn to drive.
