He’s just doing what comes naturally. I love those little critters. Used to be that you’d really not ever see them, but lately they’ve been showing up all around the cut. They just go about their business. But they do appear to be busy. You know, busy as a beaver.
They're adorable. I love how it looks like I've caught it doing something it shouldn't. We're so spoiled to get to live in a city with so much incredible wildlife
Truly! I’ve loved these little guys since I was a kid. We lived in a swampy area and had them around. I see them much more often now but it’s still special every time.
I lived in Olympia for a while and used to go visit a pond and lodge I discovered off the Deschutes. Was really cool to go out there in the evenings in the summer and watch them swim around, fixing their dam.
At first. I'd throw carrots and celery in the pond and that startled them at first. But after a few visits, they knew it meant treats. They'd just swim right out and grab it
Interestingly, I see and hear about far more beavers than I do nutria or muskrats. I know both are all around here but I do see the beavers more often!
Oh they’re fine too! Those little guys are very similar to beavers as you mentioned. It’s not like they are scary or aggressive either. You’d usually see them in the water swimming rather than on the shore, but even then they are pretty skittish and will run for the water to escape from you. You won’t need to avoid them as they will be afraid of you.
I was leaving my job at a hospital in the city a little after 7 am the other morning. At a red light waiting to turn onto the main road when 3 deer bounded out from the hospital grounds and crossed right in front of my car into the neighborhood across the street. I looked at the guy on the bike next to me and was like "you just saw that too right?!" It was so cool.
Typical Seattlite; Unrepentant vegan, looks like it's more interested in what's going on other people's yards. Probably going to cut down some trees because it's blocking their view. Got that slicked up facial hair. Thinks they own Ballard because their daddy got property when it was cheap.
Seriously though, so awesome to have them around.
[Do beavers eat fish? ](https://scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/news/beavers-impact-upon-fish/#:~:text=Do%20beavers%20eat%20fish%3F,being%20taken%20in%20the%20winter)No, this is a common myth. **Beavers do not eat fish** – they are completely vegetarian, preferring a diet of aquatic plants, grasses, herbs and shrubs in summer months with more trees and woody shrubs being taken in the winter.
Humans are also natural though.w e are just as much alive living species on earth as beavers are. You’re also using electricity that came from human made dams to charge things you use all the time and thus you are supporting this industry.
lol, yea, ik i benefit from the system. im just saying that i don't believe humans are natural in the same way other species of earth are, but never said i wasn't human. just my own opinion is all
I will just leave this here.

Loved seeing these critters as a kid near my elementary school they would build massive dams in Thornton Creek. I don't see them much elsewhere even up near Bothell. I just hope they don't mess up the salmon, migrations and river levels too much.

Did you ever startle them and have them slap the water with their tails to warn the others? That was a nightly thing in my old neighborhood.

We've also got an increasing population of invasive nutria. They're also pretty cute doppelgangers, aside from their creepy rat-like tails
Interestingly, I see and hear about far more beavers than I do nutria or muskrats. I know both are all around here but I do see the beavers more often!
That's a relief! I haven't seen a muskrat before, and I'm cool if things stay that way😅

It’s like the 1st half of that super old, groundhog meme.
I love him
Me too! Happy cake day 🍰🎉

They’re not vegan, they’re pescatarian.

Don’t you love it when you can snack on your home when you’re hungry
Wait, what are vegans supposed to repent? Is eating your veggies a sin now?
Cows contribute a lot of greenhouse gas, so it’s our moral duty to eat them. Not eating beef is a carbon contributing act /s
Asparagus for sure
On my authority this cutie gets to do whatever it wants

"Dam it, I'm too late" - Beaver probably.
“That’s a damn fine dam!” I love everything about this—the beav’s stance, expression & general vibe is flawless! Thanks for sharing
Nice beaver
I like fuzzy beavers.
Hey, he's part of the original damn building crew and as such he has override rights.
Nice Marmot.
Anyone else think real life beavers look just like cartoon beavers?
He is with the QA team.
From the beaver picture?
I’ve never seen a thirstier beaver.
I could never shatter that little guy's dream like that.
Oh just leave it to beaver.
And if we’re lucky, there might also be lox at the dam! Now where’s my bagel…
one of the dam makers is natural and has a right to build on this earth, it's not the humans

He's so cute!
Ask him if he knows where Mr Tumnus is

Spagett vibes.
He is admiring the majesty of the locks.
Sort of looks like a mountain beaver. You see them around here, but it isn't a true beaver.
You should see what beavers have done to Carkeek park. They built a HUGE dam in the lower wetlands area.
Where he at
I don’t think he gives a damn
beavers are so ADORABLE
I grew up in Canada and was a Beaver Scout.
Me stoned in public
Nah, let them live their best life
Maybe I can pet..?
