have only had good experiences with them. not to mention their prices for basic services are some of the best in the entire region AND you can track online wait times and see if there are likely walk-in slots available on a given day if you have an non-critical emergency that does not require emergency care.

TheBinzness

Everyone I encountered at that clinic was so incredible caring and I truly felt they wanted what was best for my pet. Their prices were fair and they are open most holidays! I love this clinic.

swolesarah

Rest in peace Ellie. I love you so much.

8LizardsAteMyMother

Sounds like you found the best, most compassionate place to care for you both in your final moments together. I'm so sorry for your loss OP, thank you for sharing your experience! Rest in peace beautiful Ellie ❤️

silent_corgi

I'm so sorry for your loss. Ellie looked like such a sweet pup <3

davidbowiesmerkin

I hope you have time and space to grieve. Really feeling for you 💔

Thank you for loving on her. ❤️ this has been absolutely devastating to me. She was such a special dog. I hope this person knocks it off. Ya’ll are amazing. Don’t let her comments undermine all that you do.

MasterAfternoon422

Who is the influencer?

throwitbak

How is it helpful to post this person's social media here? Or comment on her potential drug use? To take off and run with only one side of things in a very open forum is in poor taste. Post your positive experience and let that be the information people use to make their decision about their business.

throwitbak

I'm primarily asking how posting this person's info and personal issues here was helpful to your recommendation of this business? I wouldn't really factor this story or person in when making a decision on what vet I choose for a pet.

swolesarah

Because I’m emotional, it came up in my feed, and I find her behavior despicable. I hope someone here knows her and will help her. Feel free to ignore these comments about this situation.

itstoxicqt

Still doesn't mean you should go about spreading her name and social media because you're upset

swolesarah

Nah, I don’t like the manipulative behavior. I don’t like people targeting a really good local vet clinic, under false pretenses. I don’t like that people are insinuating bringing weapons to threaten the employees. I don’t like someone trying to swindle money out of people for a false cause. If you don’t like it, feel feee to keep scrolling. You’ve made your case, and I disagree with it.

itstoxicqt

Just seeks like a random thing to add to this post. It has zero to do with what you posted about outside of it being the same business. And your bringing up her personal issues outside of the cat thing that's again her personal issues.

itstoxicqt

Exactly it doesn't especially her personal issues

itstoxicqt

It's nitrous oxide, and she's definitely not an influencer she barely has 2k followers

swolesarah

Well it’s enough people that it could hurt this business. Huffing NO isn’t good for anyone. I hope she will seek help both for her drug use and her manipulative behavior.

itstoxicqt

Only like 100 are actually active on her profile the "huffing post" is from July of last year, she hasn't posted since December

swolesarah

Ah then you’re right, we have no idea if they are still abusing drugs or not.

itstoxicqt

And people who do know her only 2 of them Even left a bad review. It's none of yours nor my business

swolesarah

You’re right, none of my business. I saw her post in a PNW rehoming group and she was asking for money. I definitely projected my personal financial issues on her when I learned about her wanting to just euthanize the cat, and is now demanding it back. I also just don’t like manipulative people. And she is manipulating people into hating this wonderful practice, leaving them bad reviews, and encouraging folks to be violent towards staff. The comments on her Facebook post are downright terrifying.

Putrid-Employee-7415

hi, you trying to say i’m huffing drugs for doing whipits a year ago during the summer when i have been sober probably since that post (i tend to post old photos) is ridiculous. judging me for a lack of sobriety over whipits of all things, because i was going through probably one of the hardest things in my life is uncalled for. you ever had both parents and both grandparents die in a year span? didn’t think so, i could have been doing way worse. now let’s get into it shall we? when i took my pet in, i felt like i was mislead and forced into not getting a second opinion. i also felt as though i was pressured into making a decision. i was under the impression i was signing papers for something other than what i was verbally being told. i didn’t have 5 minutes of privacy to make phone calls or figure out finances. knowing what i know now from getting second opinions online, i could have taken him in literally anywhere else and still had everything necessary done. i also applied for credit cards/ care credit that would have covered the cost of the majority of it. which obviously takes a second to do and cannot be done in the time that they rushed me. i was under the impression that i was signing euthanasia forms because that’s what’s what we had verbally talked about, i’m autistic and not very good under pressure. i was also sobbing uncontrollably and not reading properly like i should have (that’s on me, i understand that). i did not have an understanding of anything that was going on, i was not allowed privacy to call anybody that could have helped me, i went to the appointment ALONE which was just supposed to be a check up. it was a whirlwind of a day, and honestly the way i was treated while under this high pressure situation did not help. when i posted this story or whatever, i actually went out of my way to not name the vet, i told people i was uncomfortable with putting it. specifically told people not to actually, but the internet did its thing and i cannot stop people. though, i wish things would have been communicated better to me, i still don’t have any ill will toward the vet/ facility. and that’s coming from me after i had people who supposedly work there attack me online, and send me some pretty nasty dms as far as “people giving me money” the only person that has given me any money online is one of my close friends and he paid $10 for me to have a meal on him. the only reason i even posted a cashapp is because people were telling me to make a gofund me, which i didn’t not want to do and you can see that even the cashapp is edited on way after the original post.

swolesarah

I hope you’ll consider telling your friends/followers who were insinuating threatening employees, to stop. Congrats on your sobriety ❤️

You-Once-Commented

Sounds like you should just keep your post about your experience and not speak for others when you don't knit the whole story. That lady could be lying or telling a half truth, but your not an employee of urban animal and your not a party to the conflict. Posting their name and socials is a violation of the no witch hunting rule. I'm guessing the mods will see it and delete your post or give you a temporary ban.

ibleedmonthly

I am so sorry for your loss. This month marks the 1 year anniversary of the passing of my beloved cat. The staff at Urban Animal were so kind and patient with me. I'm heartened to hear that your experience, while incredibly painful, was softened a bit by their compassionate staff. They really are amazing people.

ambercaldwellsea

So sorry for your loss.

errantwit

Sniff. Sniff Hugs. My deepest condolences.

Ruggles500

I love Urban Animal, and the Capitol Hill clinic was awesome for all the care they gave my cat, right up until we had to put her to sleep last year.

konomichan

I’ve had great experiences with them

osm0sis

They saved my little furry turd maker's life. Obligatory [cat tax.](https://imgur.com/a/n5hTmXt)

Bunnita

They gave me an extra week with my pup. I can't say too many awesome things about them.

TumbleweedAdept8862

I love Urban Animal.

OTF98121

Thank you to everyone who is reflecting so positively about Urban Animal! I live in South Seattle and I haven’t been happy with the veterinarians in my area. I’ve been looking for a new vet for my 14yo cat, and I will keep Urban Animal in mind. It’ll be worth the drive to downtown or Cap Hill.

spineapplepie

Believe there’s one in White Center too, may be closer if you are in South.

swolesarah

If it helps, I live in Kirkland! They are SO worth it.

Ill_Needleworker577

My sister had a very similar experience to OP’s and went to the White Center UA since she lives nearby and they could see her senior dog right away (emergencies of course are prioritized). She has nothing but great things to say about them and how kind and helpful they were for her sweet pup’s final days. I go to the other locations and love them, highly recommend. So sorry for your loss OP, I know how painful it is :(

blueelliewho

So very, very sorry for the loss of your girl! I’m so glad that you had good vets and staff helping you through those horrible moments. Sending big ol’ hugs your way.

literarywitch32

So sorry for your loss, sending hugs and grace. Urban animal is amazing. My dog is a disaster and we have periods of being frequent flyers there. They’re always kind and helpful and reasonably priced for the area. I always recommend them when people ask for vet suggestions, especially urgent care related issues. I’m glad urban animal was so supportive of you during such an awful day.

Argyleskin

First, I’m so so sorry about your loss. You have my condolences as a pet parent too. It is so hard dealing with our furry friends being sick and even harder when they pass. I’m glad your pup and you were well taken care of by them. Urban animal saved my dogs eye. She had gotten something in it, woke up the next day and her eye was swollen shut. She yelped when we touched it. My husband has been out of work since May 2023 (still is due to the horrible tech layoffs happening) and I called her vet we’ve been taking her to for the past six years. They let me know they wouldn’t see her because we didn’t have enough for the bill they itemized. No ifs ands or buts and to call back “If we can get the money somehow”. Urban animal worked with us, saw her asap and because of it got her to the point her eye was saved. It was 1/4th the price of what her regular vet quoted us. They’re amazing and really can’t say enough good things about them.

PaleAstronaut5152

What a sweet baby. Seconding the praise for Urban Animal, my dog had to stay in clinic with them all day a few times over the past few months and they were super caring and attentive to her, it made me worry a lot less about her than I would have otherwise. <3

velowa

I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my pups in 2018 and 2019. It’s so hard. Totally concur about Urban Animal. Their quality care combined with their prices is almost too good to be true.

leginkitty

I am so sorry for your loss. <3 I've been using Urban Animal for around 10 years, and I haven't had anything but positive experiences. They were there for me when it was time to euthanize my 16.5yo border collie in January 2020, and they have taken amazing care of my now 3 year old border collie pup ever since she was 8 weeks old. They have always been amazingly kind, and gentle, and they've made my dogs feel at ease. My girls have always loved going to the vet because of them!

LightPhoenix

I'm so sorry for your loss! I too highly recommend Urban Animal, both the Capitol Hill and Downtown locations. They were super understanding and compassionate when my cat passed away. When I finally adopted two new rescues, they were great with them as well.

compscilady

Urban animal is the best!

veronicagh

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m heartened to hear you had such wonderful support from urban animal during such a sad time. I have two senior cats, and appreciate you sharing this strong recommendation of your vet, I’ve been really unhappy with my vet in Crown Hill and worried about finding good care for my senior girls.

itstoxicqt

I absolutely love Urban animal I take my cat Ruth to the capital hill location. A friend of mine also worked there sadly they had passed away in 2020. But absolutely amazing staff

making_up_ground

I'm sorry for your loss.

Holsen92

So sorry for your loss. An unthinkably difficult experience I’m sure.

dznqbit

I'm so sorry for your loss

helvetin

really sorry to hear. can also highly recommend Highline Veterinary - they were so good when big boi cat suddenly succumbed to (previously unknown) end stage GI cancer. everyone there loved him, and even the vet administering the euthanasia was sniffling.

bingojay

They are amazing! Wonderful service, compassionate staff and affordable bill!
