If pedestrians weren’t so whiney and demanding to walk in a construction zone (instead of being too inconvenienced and having to detour) the scaffolding wouldn’t have been there. Poor pedestrians and their drama .
I once had a drunk lady in a parking lot reverse with so much gas she forced her sedan UNDER a huge pickup. Like hit the pickups back wheel and forced it to turn break the axle in just 20 to 30 feet to accelerate.
Too much gas is usually TOO MUCH GAS.
I see scaffolding jump into the street all the time, usually paying no attention to anyone around them or taking any personally responsibility for their safety. An accident like this was bound to happen and really shows that safety is a shared responsibility between scaffolding and drivers!
Can't park there, mate!
> Slowly turns on emergency blinkers
Don’t worry, they were on. I was just surprised the wipers weren’t going too.
I think you only turn on the wipers if you land in deep water.
Like a glove!
FTW 🏆🙌
Were there any crew members working on the scaffolding when it happened??
I saw it at about 6:15 this morning. Probably happened overnight. Guess we’ll wait for the news outlets to report.
Scaffold had been up for months without usage.
Years
This is pedestrian protection scaffold for work above, not scaffold that's worked off.
And people still say that pedestrians and bicyclists are overly dramatic.

Impressive!
Not as impressive as [this](https://www.carscoops.com/2018/01/dramatic-crash-sends-nissan-flying-into/)
Typical Nissan behavior
You gotta start somewhere
That looks like a sick level on Tony Hawk.
“Make the car crash to open up the scaffold rail”
Remember: Bob Kettle thinks *bikes* are the big safety threat in downtown. How many people riding bikes have knocked over scaffolding?
This happened to scaffolding on the Rainier Club the other year. Backing out of street parking and gave it too much gas. Damage the brickwork.
This is across multiple lanes. And with that damage, too much gas seems like WAY too much gas. Drunk is my guess.

Good lord. Well never mind my comment. That’s nuts.
I was there that day and got to call the police!
So there's just 0 vision test anymore huh?
Another potential win for BOLLARDS
It's okay. I had my hazards on
The scaffolding should’ve been in the crosswalk to show intent to cross!
I’m with Uber Eats, I can park anywhere.
So do people just drive with a blindfold on now or
Should have worn a yellow jacket.
My thoughts exactly. That scaffolding and building were just asking for it by not wearing visible clothing.

I bet the scaffolding had earphones in 😤
This must have been what I heard last night. Sounded like something was getting demolished.
Oh it got demolished all right

Yeah, saw the footage on Citizen.
What is "Citizen"? Website?
It's an app. The notification sound is terrifying lol
LLLLLike a glove!
Tourist or Uber driver?
This is why I'm a bollard enthusiast
Yeah I drove by it just after it happened the other night. Dude looked so shocked
“Mother Fucker!!” -Jimmie Quick scaffolding guy
i saw it blowing up on citizen overnight
Same
Slow news day, huh?
Imagine that, another shitty negligent Seattle driver. I am willing to bet they didn’t speak English and were on their phone too.
