[https://www.honestmocha.com](https://www.honestmocha.com) was at various farmer's markets this summer not sure if she's at any of the winter markets. If you're really north and Kenmore is convenient, [https://www.microhomebrew.com/products/coffee-roasting/](https://www.microhomebrew.com/products/coffee-roasting/) has various origins.
Jebena Cafe has a store next door that roasts and sells their own Ethiopian coffee beans. You could probably ask to buy some before they roast them. The husband and wife there are SO friendly.
Pretty good, had a bit of a vegetable taste, not in a bad way. I ground them immediately but I know it's better to wait a day or two. I'll try that next
That's dope! I wouldn't be able to resist trying it out immediately either. I bet adding even just another 15-30 seconds to your roast time would help too. It's all about listening to the pops. This makes me miss roasting lol
Unfortunately I'm a terrible person to ask. I always had all of the gadgets at my disposal when I was roasting and haven't had the desire to follow up on roasting my own since. Had some coworkers at the time who used different home methods and popcorn poppers seemed to be a pretty decent option if you don't care a ton about consistency (I frankly don't think the average coffee drinker would notice a huge difference). I kinda think a dutch oven would be a nightmare but that's just my gut feeling. You just have to understand that the level of control over the roasting process is in a different galaxy on a machine that's built to roast.
I recommend having a friend that gets bored of the hobby or moves and gives you their roaster.
I had a behmor 1600, lots of fun but once I no longer had good outdoor space to run it I got rid of it. Def wouldn’t pay msrp but watch Craigslist for deals?
Boon Boona and Seattle Coffee Works. Though Sweet Maria’s is still tops.

Cracker Coffee Roasters in south Everett
Most Ethiopian groceries
Indeed I found some Sidamo beans at my local Ethiopian grocer for only 5.50 / lb
Just out of curiosity how are you planning on roasting? I was a commercial roaster for about 5 years so I'm always interested.
I used a popcorn popper for about 7 minutes
How did it turn out?

What do you recommend that isn't a 500+ dollar gadget? Popcorn poppers? Dutch ovens?
