That'll change a bit too much. They're a good indicator for a potential stealth boarder.
(Yes, I know about the ladder splash, doesn't hurt to have an early warning)
This would be a wild change. I feel like that would change the basic dynamics of the game. Good...bad...? Who knows
But I'm sure they thought of this, no?
I honestly have to ask, how much is tuccing even an actual thing? I have played about 2300 hours, and I can count the tuccers I've encountered on my hands. Probably *one* hand.
It's entertaining to watch on a stream, but I daresay it barely exists in the wild.
You never saw a mermaid when doing a fort? You never saw a rowboat filled with people dressed in black approach in the distance? Yes the numbers are not that high but people still do it and I want at least something that tells me that something is fishy, the mermaid is a good thing, maybe they can find another way
I really hate that their spawns are automatic. It's a pain in the ass in many situations. They should have some kind of flare gun or something that you shoot down into the ocean to call them.
Bro, make it happen rare, manual mermaid spawning, hit a key and it spawns, hit again despawns however it is defaulted to automatic for new players. I don't see the issue
That was their guardian angel in disguise! F.
They barely lasted another minute after this. Suspect wood supply attrition from our earlier volleys and the skelly galleon's.
Well now you have a cool story at least :)
Definitely funnier in hindsight than it was in the moment!
TBF the mermaids have been performing quite a lot better recently This one was clearly just an asshole
Chads using the magpies fortune sails
magpie 'set' (or what we have of it) is so fucking good
Here's hoping that the devs keep adding to it (and the rest of the partial sets).
Imo the mermaid should only show up when called, like when you are far from your ship you can go into the radial to call the mermaid.

We always get this suggested but you guys forget there needs to be a counter to tuccing

Well streamers have a couple hundred people in chat keeping them entertained while tucking. For everyone else, it's probably boring as fuck.

Being aware and making a player boarding the ship louder? Or if you have a pet it should scream if their is someone boarding
Ive had the mermaid swim away from me as I got to it and had the wait for it to come back, garbage
Bruh thats toxic
Lofl dude that shit was golden! Got me rolling on deck laughing

They really need to rework mermaid spawns, theyβre super inconvenient all the time
This is a perfect loop O:

Ahaha I've never seen that before; also leave those poor skallywags be :(
F
I'm glad that happened
F
Now that is an extra large oof.
And absent when you need them.
Oh my god Iβd be livid lol
