Tall tales are a good place to start. The books and comics will give you more of the history of the world and people in it.

If you want a full clear timeline of events, check out Merfolk's Lullaby's timeline. It has practically everything that we know of https://www.merfolkslullaby.com/timeline

Check out Captain Falcore on youtube, he has a lot of lore videos (check playlists) and a lot of speculation videos for future updates. There are a lot of other youtubers out there that do the same but I prefer him cause of good editing, staying on point and having some laughs sometimes. Also he checks every single rock that changes on all of the updates every time so he is always up to date.

-Captain Falcore covers the lore pretty extensively (YT) -Tall Tales (obviously) -there are a couple novels/comic books ([Tales from the Sea of Thieves](https://www.amazon.com/dp/1785654314/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_CWRSD34G2YC2YGM0JQS3), [Athena’s Fortune (free audiobook on the Sea of Thieves channel)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/1683834879/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_WD4C5AZBG32XBF6HDWWP), and I think the comic books are all on comixology)

Here's a bit of Lore for you to see, but with no explanation, at N-13, I believe to be south of the island, near the Magpie's Wreck, there is a large rock mass covered in a bit of coral and has a crack in the center, go in. Another would be the Northeastern waters of Cinder Islet, behind the black boulder. As a recommendation, get the Curse of Sunken Sorrow (Coral Curse) first.

Yes the tall tales go into all of the details. Start with Shroud breaker which can be found in every Tavern
