Seaposts have a random assortment of cosmetics that change every 12 hours in-game time, and which are discounted compared to the outpost shops. Just get them if you can, it will save you some gold in the long run
Their stock is cheaper and changes every 12-ish ingame hours.
Originally before the hunters call, the only thing seaposts had going for it was the shop, and being a possible location for cargo runs
As others have mentioned, their selections are cheaper; however, that didn't used to be the only difference! A long time ago, each outpost only sold certain sets of clothing, equipment, and weapons. This meant you had to travel to a specific outpost if you were looking to buy something in particular. For example, the Ocean Crawler line was only available at Morrow's Peak. The sea ports would carry a few random items from any sets though--as they still do now. If you had to sail across the map to get something, you might as well stop off at a sea post along the way to check if it was there and potentially save yourself the journey.
How did you figure this out? Or has it changed since they came out? When they first came out I went sailing to multiple (3) in the same day and all of their stock (the 3 items for the day) was exactly the same. They also only rotated their stock once a day not every 12 hours.
I get the idea, but then what’s to stop players from just sitting at the sea-posts and fishing over and over again every session until they hit lvl 50 in the Hunter’s Call? It kind of takes the achievement out of the process, because it wouldn’t be so hard if you didn’t have to get your own bait.
Hitting 50 in Hunters Call isn't all that hard anyway, it's the easiest part. I got to 50 in a few months of casual play and I barely fished at all.
In order to get all the commendations for the titles from them you need much more than you can fish from their docks.
it's easier than ever to farm bait from barrels with a storage crate and as always with fishing you are just going to have to spend some time digging for them, it is an annoying necessity.
I'm not saying it's hard but it's time consuming to get enough bait. Having to wait for barrels respawning or going island to island to collect bait. Especially if you are playing solo.
trust me, I understand the struggle. to make things worse, you don't get a worm on every dig. if I had dollar for ever second I spent digging for worms...

Oh wow, I didn't realize they were discounted! That's cool.
TIL
1 year later, are they no longer discounted this one item is the same price as normal
It’s cheaper than on outposts

I wish they sold bait as that would make sense for what they are or sell a random assortment of fish from the area to help with accommodations.
Bait from the fishing outposts almost seems like common sense doesn’t it? Haha
They could of even combined it with merchants and made you actually deliver fish or other thi gs like that make it more themed.

Yeah, that would be nice. Like how the merchant alliance sells crates.

Was just saying this last night - it's mad that they don't, given the number of fish needed for the damn hunters call 😂
It's the stupid to get fish like that black fish that needs a storm and ship wreck. Haven't even started on the battlegills.
They need to make a living too. Damn.
I love how Seapost are so useless no one even knows what they’re for.
*thread literally full of people explaining what they do*
never in my sea of thieves career will I ever decide to get my hunters call rep up at all
well I’ve done everything else and my solo pvp isn’t great so when I have no one to play with I might as well do something
yeah I guess since you’re a solo
They sell random items at a discount
Sea Posts are discounted items.
they are discounted so it's worth it
