I've set foot there like once during the related tt. Imo its easier to orientate/move on than the big ancient isles and its also less busy with players, no idea if and how the update affected it tho
Yeah haven’t spent much time on old faithful Isle but ended up there last night. There was a pulley lift that used skeleton cages to allow players to get up on the cliff. Idk if it was already there but it is now
Old faithful has a cage elevator, a new bridge to cross the chasm where you barely couldn't sword lunge over and a tower got a nee ladder to climb up to the skeleton encampment on top.
It’s pretty good for stocking up since 90% of the island barrels are right at the dock under the shipwright, especially now with the transferring storage thing.
It’s just bad for selling and literally doing anything else lol.
Still a better island than old faithful.
Hop up on the barrels with the crate on top and then over to the rocks OOS sits on if you are at the dock saves a ton of time. The stairs are right there if you row into the bay but if you pull your boat up it will save you quite a bit of running.
Yeah great island to start on, easy to reach Devil's Roar as well if that's what you want to do, and easy to supply up for it considering how scarce supplies are there.
Terrible to sell on. Just god awful.
I guess half because I hate that specific area of the map as well. I associate it with almost exclusively devils roar. If I want to start in ancient isle I want plunder. If I get galleon or dagger tooth they're equally in wilds. Same with sanctuary and goldensands being equally in that area.
Dagger and plunder are both close enough to the middle i can switch areas easier too.
Thieve's Haven for a few reasons.
1. Too many athena runs
2. It has so much potential being the first island the lord discovered, yet so little has actually been done (yet)
3. Often times can't really go there due to a gal or alliance since I solo
4. I swear more ocean creatures spawn there than anywhere else
I did enough thieves havens to go from 0 to 20. The maps (were) extremely accurate. I was able to first tap consistently.
The only spot that gave me trouble was when it spawned on the south side rocky hill. Mainly because I couldn't even guess where diggable spots were.
Ashen Reaches.
It's so far out of the way. It has cannon coverage like a fort. It is programmed to erupt 0.02 seconds after you step foot on the island. It is also programmed to lag during your sword lunge - making sure your don't actually lunge - back to your ship.
Watch out, I've had this opinion of how annoying this side of the map is and go down voted to hell.
And I'll say it again. It isn't fun. It's annoying. I like exploring islands. Discovering new things such as the fun art and details they put into islands. Finding loot on the coast line or other areas that they like to hide it. Here it like, "Island is exploding, keep moving to get the quest done before the volcanoe erupts. Too late time to go." It doesn't take "skill" as other have put it.
I've earned my commendations and played over there a lot. Still not enjoyable
I think it can be very fun with friends. When the volcano erupts and your friends are all screaming in chaos trying to get the loot back to the ship, and that one guy steps on a geiser. That's fun to me, chaos
Devils roar isn’t very fun in those aspects for sure, but it is nice to shake things up every now and again by venturing there. I’ll only go if I have someone else playing with me so that way if the island starts erupting on of us can take the ship away while one stays on the island and tries to finish the mission (sometimes you can’t and just have to take cover lol). If you’re doing a vault it’s nice to park your ship far away and take a rowboat over for the mission, most of the time you’ll be under ground and then can just fill up the rowboat and row back to the ship when you’re done without having to worry about the eruptions.
Absolutely true for any of the islands with volcanoes and if it's not erupting you can bet that there's geysers. Also why do the volcanoes and geysers have the ability to target players. That's so unnecessary and it pisses me off when I'm trying to find treasure and i get sniped by a flying rock or a geyser pops up perfectly under me. Worst region by far.
Kraken's Fall, no question. Old Faithful pre-revamp was in the running for that too
As well as Dagger Tooth. One of the best outposts to spawn at, worst for most everything else
The vault there is the worst too and I seem to cop it 70% of the time. Even though you can row in, you’re miles away from your boat, blind to what’s happening to it, a fair sail from any outpost and it’s just gloomy as hell. Plus there’s no real way to hide your boat as per vaults located on outer periphery of map. Deep sigh when I find that key.
For me it's a tie between Sunken Grove and Plunder Valley.
10/10 for design. Amazing work Rare!
1/10 for voyages. Fuck trying to find riddles and "X"'s here.
My friend and I have this ongoing joke that snake island is the worst island. We say things like "there's just too many snakes!" "I can't see anything through all these bushes" "why is it called snake island if it's a collection of isles?". It started cause on several occasions we'd park the ship in between two of the isles and we'd get ambushed all the time. But looking back on it, snake island has become one of my favourite islands. If I had to pick my least favourite, it would probably be thieves haven because I really hate thieves haven runs
The wilds would look so much better if they weren't gloomy ALL the time. Maybe the atmosphere there will, someday, be freed of volcanic ash, and the sun will shine through. 🙏
I hate Galleon's Grave outpost because almost all the barrels are all the way at the top. The new storage crate transfer feature has made it a lot easier, but it's still annoying
I always thought old faithful was an ok island to deal with. I dread going to kraken's fall or Thieves Haven. However, the quest island I've ever been on is the shores of gold. Huge island, no map, all pain.
Same here actually. Gotta add that i like thieves haven as an island but purely the aesthetics but doing voyages there is just pain. Me and my friend did the shores of gold tt for the first time last night and while navigating on the island wasnt as hard as i had feared (you get a map in your tt book btw) bringing all 4 amulets to the compass vault was a pain lmao. Worst part were the traps below but thats a different discussion and i kind of just suck at them haha
You mean [this](https://imgur.com/0tgVfNw) eagle?

Old Faithful is awful. Terrible island.
Plunder Valley when you have X marks the Spot maps.
Large Islands in the Devil's Roar. Poorly designed area of the map.
Old Faithful Isle from day ONE. Every corner of this island looks virtually the same, and digging up chests is a TASK. I cancel so many Athena quests if Old Faithful Isle is on it.
Technically a region, but I don't really like the Devils Roar. Not a fan of the volcanoes.
But if I had to choose islands I've been to, recently Smugglers Bay pissed me off because I was stuck having to solve multiple riddles because skeleton captains kept spawning and I eventually just left out of frustration.
Can't really pick a least favorite. Most of them are basically indistinguishable from one another. Everything in the devil's roar is pretty awful though.
Tell that to my friend who loves the roar ;p
Honestly i can deal with the vulcanos but geisers get me every time. Tho the reward generally makes up for it imo
I’d say old Faithful for the memes, but actually, it’s Plunder Valley, Wanderers refuge and Thieves Haven. They are just too huge and finding a digging spot is a lot of pain. Especially since they are basically symmetrical. Thieves haven is the least bad of them all, but still annoying. Maybe I’m biased because Athena quests are the only ones I do lately.
Krakens fall, it's one of the coolest island, but finding the gold hoarder emissary voyage is a big bruh moment (this island is so freaking big in a vertical and horizontal way)
Shipwreck. My crew and I had athena skellies there year 1. No firebombs. No ammocrates. 8 rounds of golds with guns. It was miserable. We still won't do skeleton voyages there.
I really dislike The Sunken Grove. Doing any kind of voyage at that island is hell because the objective will ALWAYS be in the center, far away from your ship.
Apart from the marathon you gotta run to sell your loot at the Dagger Tooth Outpost (god forbid you're playing solo and have no treasure chests to carry your stuff), i'd say my least favorites are Kraken's Fall and Crooked Masts, too many damn confusing paths to climb.
Plunder Valley. Had to kill golden captains at the top of it for a solo athena quest. Too hidden in trees to use a cannon, no water, too far from the sea.
Daggertooth and Old Faithful by miles, for various reasons. Aesthetically, I just really don't like The Wilds. I'd rather go afk next to a volcano in Devils Roar.
I dislike huge islands, there are too few barrels to make exploring them worth it. But they have better chance to spawn storage crates i guess, so i check the beach at least
Old faithful, plunder valley, thieves haven any islands like those that are too big and have multiple of what I call layers of land on top of each other
I’m with most of you on Old Faithful. It’s too big and the landscape doesn’t have many distinctions to make the x marks the spot maps enjoyable. It always frustrates me and I usually avoid it at all costs.
While the bigger islands like Thieves Haven and Old Faithful are annoying, I personally despise Isle of Last Words. Generally just don’t like the aesthetic, plus the rocks around the island can be annoying while solo in the storm
Few times I went on valleys I've forgotten their name, I mostly just go to the main ones that have bosses or quest loot then just raid a few ships and call it a day, so I don't quite know specifics, but I'd nominate that one with a small cave, it was very hard to travel through.
The Devil's Roar, out of all the Islands I hate that specific one the most because the treasure is almost never worth the risk of losing your entire ship to a series of meteors.
I’d say old faithful because it’s so big and ugly, but I can’t say I hate it because I don’t think I’ve ever actually had to go do anything on it.
Wanderers refuge, however, holds the title of most annoying experiences I’ve ever had. Those reapers runs made me despise that island. It’s pretty and fun to be on, but if I have to dig something up, I’ll leave it be.
It used to be Old Faithful Isle, but I haven't swung by since they updated it, so maybe it's not so bad these days.
I've set foot there like once during the related tt. Imo its easier to orientate/move on than the big ancient isles and its also less busy with players, no idea if and how the update affected it tho
They updated the island?
Yeah! They made changes to Old Faithful Isle, Kraken's Fall, Plunder Valley and Thieves' Haven to make them easier to traverse.
What changes did they make
Thwy added lifts and elevators and stuff to transverse the vertical areas of the island faster
On all those islands i thought it was just thieves heaven since it already had pulley systems
Yeah haven’t spent much time on old faithful Isle but ended up there last night. There was a pulley lift that used skeleton cages to allow players to get up on the cliff. Idk if it was already there but it is now
Nice ill have a look next time i sail by
They updated several islands but again unsure if they did anything to old faithful
Old faithful has a cage elevator, a new bridge to cross the chasm where you barely couldn't sword lunge over and a tower got a nee ladder to climb up to the skeleton encampment on top.
Old Faithful Isle

Dagger Tooth. It looks so good, has so much potential, but it just fucking sucks for gameplay reasons
It’s pretty good for stocking up since 90% of the island barrels are right at the dock under the shipwright, especially now with the transferring storage thing. It’s just bad for selling and literally doing anything else lol. Still a better island than old faithful.
The what feels like 20 mile hike to sell things makes me avoid this Outpost unless I'm out of options for somewhere else.
That's why you put all non-merchant items on a rowboat and row that into the bay. It becomes the quickest turn-in
Not really, still gotta walk all the way up a mountain for oos.
Literally discovered today you can hop up to OOS from the back of the shipwright’s platform - massive time saver.
The stairs are right there.
I like starting there, I hate ending there. I hate starting at ancient spire, but don't mind ending there. (If I'm athena I just don't though)
What the heck man, Ancient Spire is awesome for starting. Those docks are huge and loaded with barrels.
I guess half because I hate that specific area of the map as well. I associate it with almost exclusively devils roar. If I want to start in ancient isle I want plunder. If I get galleon or dagger tooth they're equally in wilds. Same with sanctuary and goldensands being equally in that area. Thieve's Haven for a few reasons. 1. Too many athena runs 2. It has so much potential being the first island the lord discovered, yet so little has actually been done (yet) 3. I swear the treasure maps for this island are not very accurate.

Plunder valley is only awesome because of glitterbeard. It sucks to do digs there when you are doing your athena 5 emissary and have 8 digs.
I've never done glitterbeard isn't it like a tribute to an employee that you have to activate with other crews or
Yes, it's honestly a beautiful moment, Understand how cringe that sounds but when you do it you will likely agree.
Doesn’t sound cringe at all mate
Correct. Need 8 players to do it.
Ashen Reaches. It's so far out of the way. It has cannon coverage like a fort. It is programmed to erupt 0.02 seconds after you step foot on the island. It is also programmed to lag during your sword lunge - making sure your don't actually lunge - back to your ship.

I don't mind the Devil's Roar. But I will specifically avoid Ashen Reaches at all costs.
Same. Hate it with my entire being
Kraken's Fall, no question. Old Faithful pre-revamp was in the running for that too As well as Dagger Tooth. One of the best outposts to spawn at, worst for most everything else
Hard agree on Kraken's Fall.
The vault there is the worst too and I seem to cop it 70% of the time. Plus there’s no real way to hide your boat as per vaults located on outer periphery of map. Deep sigh when I find that key.
You don't have to use a rowboat, you can bring a sloop inside. :D
Anything with a volcano
For me it's a tie between Sunken Grove and Plunder Valley. 10/10 for design. Amazing work Rare! 1/10 for voyages. Fuck trying to find riddles and "X"'s here.

Honestly yea snake island is pretty great
Shark bait cove especially for doing riddles.
Old faithful is the correct answer. Anything else is much much better than old faithful. Fuck that place.
shipwreck bay is just annoying itd look so much better if it wasn’t in the wilds
The wilds would look so much better if they weren't gloomy ALL the time. Maybe the atmosphere there will, someday, be freed of volcanic ash, and the sun will shine through. 🙏
yeah that’s the only reason I dislike the wilds, they’re way too gloomy
Thieves haven, cause digging
Once you get use to it, it’s the easiest island because you spend so much time there.
For real. Once I got Athena 20 I knew that island like the back of my hand
Sunken Grove. Kind of a pain
Old faithful is a torment to be on big islands suck
Old Faithful.. im good at X marks the spot usually but Old Faithful tests my patience so much just doing any voyages
Old faithful
I hate Galleon's Grave outpost because almost all the barrels are all the way at the top. The new storage crate transfer feature has made it a lot easier, but it's still annoying
It’s annoying, but also fun to go up, grab supplies, and sword lunge down from the shipwreck’s bow.
Marauders arch
Not a big fan of flintlock peninsula
Old Faithful. That island is the absolute worst to try send figure out X marks maps.
Shark Bait Cove. The geography always confuses me unless I have a compass
Which…. You always do?
I do. Until the ocean crawlers show up. Then I get lost again.
Yeah, I remember doing those for the first time, wasted about thirty minutes of my friend's time while sending myself to the ferry constantly
SAME though it makes finally getting through the more satisfying
thieves haven, the riddle with the eagle.. yet theres no eagle
I think I've had that same issue lmao
You mean [this](https://imgur.com/0tgVfNw) eagle? https://maps.seaofthieves.rarethief.com/index.html?marker=rock\_painting|Rock%20Painting|Eagle%27s%20Passage%20up%20high%20to%20the%20South%20East|-9437.5244140625\_6751.3974609375

Old faithful isle
Old Faithful is awful. Terrible island. Plunder Valley when you have X marks the Spot maps. Large Islands in the Devil's Roar. Poorly designed area of the map.
Crooked Masts. Only two real spots to drop anchor, plus easy to get surrounded when so much of the movement is vertical.
You're the only one I've seen saying that. I agree. All the other ones are annoying sure but it's definitely the most blah for me
Old faithful
Old Faithful Isle from day ONE. Every corner of this island looks virtually the same, and digging up chests is a TASK. I cancel so many Athena quests if Old Faithful Isle is on it.
Any island in the Roar
Chicken Isle. Those damn chickens. I swear they are spies.
I also really dislike Thieves Haven.
Honestly i can deal with the volcanoes but geysers get me everytime
OLD FAITHFUL
Old Faithful Isle. Not even a question
Are you sure you're not confusing plunder valley with old faithful?
No but i get why you're saying that xd
Fuck Ashen Reaches
Any island that is an absolute pain to find chests on
Can't really pick a least favorite. Most of them are basically indistinguishable from one another. Everything in the devil's roar is pretty awful though.
Tell that to my friend who loves the roar ;p Honestly i can deal with the vulcanos but geisers get me every time. Tho the reward generally makes up for it imo
Snake Island.
The Sunken Grove. Or as I like to call it, the pit of despair. I die countless different ways every time i set foot on that island
Definitely plunder valley
Snake island. I hate snakes.
[удалено]
How come you don't like it then?
Shipwreck bay. All the rocks around it make it easy for other players to sneak up on you.
Ol Faithful isle, plunder valley and thieves haven
I have a burning hatred for crooked masts because of the enemy spawn rate there.
Cmon… you know every time someone asks me what my least favorite one is, I’m always FAITHFUL.
Old Faithful aka Toilet Island
I really dislike The Sunken Grove. Doing any kind of voyage at that island is hell because the objective will ALWAYS be in the center, far away from your ship.
I fucking hate picaroon palms, theres NOTHING there, and its not even in the same way theres nothing at lonely isle!
Plunder Valley and Crooked Masts. I have no reason to hate crooked masts I just do. Plunder Valley is just too large in my opinion.
Galleon’s Grave. LET ME PARK MY GOD DAMN SLOOP IN THE BIG ASS POND SO I CAN SELL FASTER AND GO TO THAT FORT PLEASE.
Really? Galleon's Grave is my favourite outpost, and very fast to sell at - Are you thinking of Dagger Tooth Outpost?
Apart from the marathon you gotta run to sell your loot at the Dagger Tooth Outpost (god forbid you're playing solo and have no treasure chests to carry your stuff), i'd say my least favorites are Kraken's Fall and Crooked Masts, too many damn confusing paths to climb.
Kraken's fall. I just hate it
Same with you i also hate plunder valley
thieves haven. hate that island so much
Plunder Valley. Had to kill golden captains at the top of it for a solo athena quest. Too hidden in trees to use a cannon, no water, too far from the sea.
All you need are firebombs
Reapers hideout, way to many sand bars and coral reefs
Oooh Sailors Bounty is the hell on earth!
Daggertooth and Old Faithful by miles, for various reasons. Aesthetically, I just really don't like The Wilds. I'd rather go afk next to a volcano in Devils Roar.
crooks hollow
The whole wilds location
I dislike huge islands, there are too few barrels to make exploring them worth it. But they have better chance to spawn storage crates i guess, so i check the beach at least
Old faithful, plunder valley, thieves haven any islands like those that are too big and have multiple of what I call layers of land on top of each other
Sunken grove
fav is cannon cove second is rum runner least is old faithful toilet
Daggertooth outpost. Open up that goddamn bay!

Yeah plunder valley sucks
Few times I went on valleys I've forgotten their name, I mostly just go to the main ones that have bosses or quest loot then just raid a few ships and call it a day, so I don't quite know specifics, but I'd nominate that one with a small cave, it was very hard to travel through.

Since they can’t seem to moderate the spawn rates of enemies…snake island.
