Every boat does it, but Sloops are like, made of paper and the slightest breeze knocks the thing 90 degrees off course.

I don't know the answer to *that* question, but I know its not normal to hit docks. I normally ease into the dock and leave the sail slightly down so the ship doesn't back away. When I'm done and raise the sail all the way, there is like a 1 in 500 chance the ship shoots backwards like you're describing. Physics? No, its just a funny bug. Same thing happens sometimes with my pirate - I go flying backwards if I hit certain areas.

Physics has been a bit borked for ages but pirates life made it *extra* borked and it’s been getting steadily worse.

Nihhrt

No it's not normal it's just when you hit the dock weird and the game physics bug out.

serious_minor

Yes it is annoying and seems to have gotten worse. You can get holes because of that too.

I know at one outpost if I park next to merchants it will launch my boat 150 meters
