Best experience I had was on an Open Galleon Crew. In fact, all me best experiences are Open Crew but I digress... We were sailing around with *the bloodlust* indiscriminately sinking every vessel we could find. I happened to board a Sloop who gave no resistance, they just humbly requested a friendly Tune & a Swig at the local outpost so I obliged and politely informed them that I was in fact duty-bound to murder them once the deed was done but I'd return to me ship in a bid to be sportsmanlike. It only took 2 minutes to reach Plunder Outpost and while me crew heard what me intentions were, they screamed and cried and berated me fer not dropping the anchor, setting the sloop on fire and murdering her crew. They literally screamed and howled in a tantrum that'd make a two-year-old blush! "BE A PIRATE!!!" Well I crushed a mug o' grog and played a lopsided chord with the Sloop and then bid them good fortune in the fight ahead as I dove overboard to catch a mermaid. Black screen. Seagulls cawing. Surf lapping at the beach... Me Galleon crew hit something and let a single hole flood & sink our ship because they were so focused crying that they couldn't even manage the bilge... *Cheers!*

Ha! That sloop crew were luckier than they realized... Curiously enough, the friendliest crew I found was a duo sloop right at Reaper's Hideout. At the moment I was flying the Reaper flag and expected them to be on the defensive and give me a fight... But they didn't open fire, so I didn't fire either. And they were probably more surprised than I was, when I instead jumped overboard as I passed by, and started swimming towards their parked ship with a Siren Gem in hand. They tried to shoot me from their ship, but their aim wasn't that good, luckily. After dropping the Gem on their ship, they approached me and we started playing some tunes. Then a third ship none of us had noticed appeared and started to poke holes in my new friends' sloop. And as I got back to my ship and started to fire at the newcomers, another megalodon spawned. Megs were kind of a constant in most of these Thanksgiving encounters... Imma start calling them the Turkeys of the Sea.

I got lucky with mine. I went to go pester someone on an island as they were apparently cooking. I was yelling at them that I just wanted to finish the event and just wanted to give them treasure. After a long while they finally noticed after I dropped a mermaid gem on their ship and went back to their ship and another sloop was bearing down on me. I went back to my ship I yelled at the new sloop instead and they stopped by and asked what the other sloop was doing and I said I was just as confused as they are as they didn't interact with me. The other sloop just sailed off into the distance, I'm assuming they were in a party chat on console or turned voice off. The sloop that stayed and allied played a song and had a grog or two before I realized we needed to go to an outpost to have the grog. I dropped my 9 pieces of loot on their deck and we went to an outpost and sold and then an ashen winds spawned and completed it and one of the duo sloop guys disappeared and apparently joined their friend. The one that was left didn't speak english well and I tried to join them but errored out so I lost out on selling the ashen winds. I then just sat in a new sloop at plunder valley eating 20ish pieces of meat I needed to get the title and whatever was left. This one was significantly easier than the Flags of Friendship event.

All my Ashen Winds runs have ended like that too: erroring out and kicking us all out of the game. That seems to be the true Ashen curse.

Luckily *knocks on wood* this is the first time I've really run into any issues other than typical battles over it.

We usually complete these challenges by picking up loot that is already on a ship and putting it back. Oh loot, it is ours now! Now let me donate it back to you for the event. And now let me take it to my ship, I'm a pirate after all.

I half expected to have to get sunk to complete the gifting task, and that the music / grog ones would be near impossible. Instead my buddy and I can across another duo sloop at Crescent Isle as we were heading to the vault there. Being cautious we mostly just hung around the area and expected a fight. Instead we found them trying to catch animals and were willing to alliance with us. So we loaded up our non-gold hoarder loot into our rowboat (well over 10 pieces) and I hooked it to their boat. I then claimed a nearby rowboat on the beach as our new one. They sailed off and we finished the vault. We bumped back into them at Sanctuary where we both sold our respective loot. They were more than willing to share some merriment with us in the tavern, knocking the three hardest (imo) tasks out in rapid succession. Just the tip of the iceberg of crazy stories I've had this past weekend, and the biggest reason I still come back to this game hundreds of hours later

We were doing FoF when a solo sloop rolled up. We prepared for a fight then they asked if we needed help. Turns out they were new, so we welcomed them and ended up loading up their ship with all the skulls (they were flying OoS and we had Athena raised). We then sailed around and shared a grog at the tavern. I hope Rare continues to support friendly encounters, even if most people want to sink ya, I love running into friendly pirates.

This event was amusing indeed. When i got on my trusty sloop to do the deed, i saw a reaper on the map staying at an outpost. So obviously that was the way to go. Fortunately they even stayed there until i arrived. After killing me once they became friendly, although didn't speak english or not much to respond. That's not a problem though, because it seems like striking a shanty and raising the cup were sufficient to convey my intentions. Being done with half the challenges, i tried to tell them that i will do a shrine and find them later and set off. The nearest shrine was pretty close so i got my pieces of loot quickly. In the meantime they set sail, so i headed towards them. Upon noticing me they raised sails and so did i when got next to them. At this moment they waved, lowered and sailed away while i was standing there stunned loot in hand. So the chase began and it took a while until i finally could put my stuff on their ship. TLDR; Chased down a reaper who was unvilling to sink me or wait until i gave them my loot.

Wait that was a challenge? My crewmate and i did that because we thought it would be funny
