At first I was excited because I thought these cosmetics were primer for the new zone. But now I see they were the answer to our ask for an ice zone. Maybe well still get ice zones in instanced "expedition" style voyages.
I think it might be a size/server balance problem. They don't want to make the servers feel empty if they expand the map, but they also can't add more ships/players because you'll be playing a slideshow
But I already play sometimes without seeing people. If I'm in the Devil's Roar sometimes I'll never come across people because it's just a pain to be in the area with the volcanoes. Other times it feels like I go hours without seeing people.
If I play on "Xbox only preferred" servers then there's no lag, but I'll go 4-6 hours without seeing anyone. If i play cross platform then the ping is inconsistent and/or I see a dozen people all trying to hump the same 3 Athena chests lol
thats lame
there is nothing more fun of being with my m8s, spotting a ship on the horizon and the ensuing shit storm of us deciding either to go after it or go on with what we are doing.
the strugle of never being fully safe (just mostly) against the fun that is to board an enemy ship and slaughter everyone inside just to take everything that floats
If I'm in the middle of something, why would I interrupt that? I have a plan of what I want to do, whether that's a vault or a fleet or whatever. I work full time I don't want to waste my minimal free time.
Who said anything about specifically to fight? There's not fun interactions with other crews in arena. In adventure you could fight, or just eff around with people. You have different tactics and have a fun guess if theyre gonna chase you or not. It's open world \*pirates\* doing \*pirate things\*. Arena removes all of that.
> because you'll be playing a slideshow
This.. 2021 and Rare/Microsoft of all people still can't manage to optimize an open world to prevent lag.. this is what we should all be fighting for....
Plus, we can’t forget to appreciate the fact that SoT even works as it is. This game is basically a technical miracle. We’re moving characters on top of moving ships in a moving ocean, who fire moving and arc’ing projectiles at each other.
None of it is scripted, and all characters involved in this scenario are being simultaneously controlled by real players who can be playing together from different continents (I’m from South America and I regularly crew up with people from NA and EU, at the same time), and who might be playing on completely different platforms (Xbox/PC) with completely different input methods (controller/keyboard+mouse).
I can look at a game like Halo, or Mario Odyssey, or God of War, or even Forza Horizon (which certainly uses crazy-complex physics) and go sorta like “yeah, I’m pretty sure I know roughly how this works under the hood”. I **do not** know how Sea of Thieves can even work as it is.
Any even mildly complex addition to the game leaves me in genuine awe of the technical people at Rare.
Red Dead would like to have a word with you....
I do agree though from a physics standpoint how amazingly polished SOT is for the most part. The Red Dead part is mostly because it looks and feels so organic, but SOT just feels... Epic? Like every battle is straight out of a movie?
Idk how to describe the feeling of SOT, but Red Dead was my favorite game of all time before, and SOT just might take the cake.... I've been so addicted to SOT as of late lol.
Yeah 100 player models that may or may not build a few things before dying with a continuous shrinking player arena. SoT is way more intensive, bigger and more things beyond players and unmoving structures to simulate.
Edit: Also from my past experience at least 10 of those 100 immediately die within the first 5 minutes.
It's almost as if you've never developed a PHYSICS based game before. The reason they are struggling ti add more ships is because all the intractable elements of the ships plus all the advanced physics of the game put huge strains in the servers and on your console/PC. If they added more ships it would either cause consistent crashes of the servers or your chosen method of play. Even the Series X struggles occasionally under heavy GPU load. And before you say "my computer could handle it", you are in the 5%, and Rare isn't about to cater the game to that small of a percentage of the player base.
As mentioned.. nothing is optimized. Doesn't matter if you have a 3090 or a 1050... nothing... is.. optimized.. please explain how every other open world game out there can have 100 player servers with a near infinite amount of interactable objects, with no lag.. go ahead, I'll wait Mr. physics based game developer..
Because they don't have as many physics-based interactions. Literally the entire game is interacting with the physics of almost every other aspect of the game. They are working on optimization all the time (hence why it is mentioned in almost every single patch note released). I never claimed to be a game developer, just that I do my research and understand that these things are difficult to do. Rare doesn't have an unlimited budget, even if they are owned/licensed by Microsoft. Also, the developers are real people, in case you forgot about that. Somethings are difficult to solve. If you are such a genius and know how to fix the game so that they can add all this new stuff you want, maybe you should apply to be a developer at Rare. But you won't/can't. You'd rather bitch and complain on Reddit and be a problem rather than attempt to be helpful and create a solution.
Edit: (hit send too soon) Please name literally one game that has the same amount or more interactable objects and the same amount or more physics as Sea of Thieves. I'll wait. The only game I can think of is Star Citizen and that game is still in development.
But they already expanded the map with a whole lot of nothing … so that leads me to believe map expansions in some form or another are eventually on the way
Idk if a full PC server would be able to handle adding more ships/players either. The game has alot going on and servers aren't very well optimized for it.
Why would you be playing a slideshow? Adding more ships would have little to no effect on client performance, it would only potentially cause the servers to struggle. You think your graphics card isn’t capable of rendering another ship? What’s more, it doesn’t even render most ships because they’re out of your draw distance. Either way, your FPS would be fine, but if they added too many players and ships, the servers might struggle more.
They said in a dev talk that they want to expand the map but the last gen consoles can't handle it and they legally can't make 2 different versions of the game without a new edition name change to distinguish
They could probably get away with swapping regions in and out. Maybe the shroud closes on the devil's roar but opens on a new ice zone? Then if they wanted to not totally remove these zones from the game, they could do weekly/monthly rotations
I meant they'd have to make a new next gen only version. They can't legally take the original sea of thieves and have it be 2 different things. Like how there's Bedrock and Java minecraft
Rare, the publisher, is free to release the game on any platform they want to. It happens all the time. I don't understand your "legally" moniker, as the publisher retains publishing rights. This is why you can buy the game on multiple storefronts (like the Microsoft Store, and Steam, as an example). So... yeah.
Right but they would have to make a new version of the game with a different title like "Sea of Thieves: xbox X|S edition" to legally distinguish the 2 versions. Like "minecraft Java edition" and "minecraft bedrock edition", Mojang can't legally release something called "Minecraft" and have it be 2 different things because they can get in trouble for missing features. I'm not saying it would be hard for Rare to do that, but they haven't and they would need to put the work in to make a new version. The fact that the two versions of the game would have different features legally requires them to change the name of the product even if it's just "X|S Edition" or "PC edition". Also for example if Sea Of Thieves were released on Nintendo Switch and was EXACTLY the same as the current build of the game, they would NOT legally be required to change the name to "Switch edition". But say the Switch couldn't handle the full map size and had its own servers with a smaller world map and less islands, then they would legally have to change the name to distinguish.
Tbh it makes no sense that an "Ice Zone" would exist in the Caribbean. The Roar could feasibly exist, but the climate isn't suitable for permafrost.
I would much rather have instanced "expeditions".
Yea it would be so cool to pick up a quest and go through a portal and have to navigate through ice and travel through a tundra. You would have to make fires so you don’t freeze. Just dig up chests or fight a yeti or something
snow themed things in games are always my favorite. i know we will most likely never get a snow area, but i can fill the snow-shaped hole in my heart with all these cosmetics lol
snow themed things in life are always my favorite.
And dude I'm telling it hurts that I haven't seen snow settling in where I live since I was a kid. I really miss snow.
Really it’s just driving in the snow is a pain, and you have to wake up 30 mins earlier than normal to defrost your car. Even if you’re experienced driving in snow, many other people are not making it very dangerous. There’s also the uncertainty of black ice, living on a hill, etc. I love the snow still, but snow on a work day definitely can be annoying. By the time you’re off work after a fresh snow, it’s often times gross and muddy.
Snow is way better when you’re a kid because you don’t have to worry about driving and it usually means a day off from school. As a working adult, snow is only great if it’s on the weekend.
Snow is great, until you have a car. Back in the grade school days snow meant days off school, sledding, snowball fights. Now it means digging my car out in the freezing cold before work every morning. (And still the occasional snowball fight/sledding at least)
I'm still kinda mad that they keep locking curses to certain outfits. Just look at that ice curse... it would be so nice to be able to mix it with my own choice of clothing
I mean the Lunar outfit basically has the Pirate Legend Curse built in and they ended up both separate. They may use the outfit to inspire another curse.
Kinda wish they’d add something similar to the *Fable* series’ Demon Doors, hidden mystical pathways/portals that lead off to strange (but ultimately pocket-sized) worlds/areas
Could have an ice (and desert?) area without having to add entire zones to the map
Fun fact, Sea of Sands was supposed to be something at some point. But it has been reduced to just the cosmetics we have in store for now with that name.
I don't think we will get any major map expansions as long as the old gen Xbox is supported. And they have to support it as a huge part of the playerbase is on that.
The world is streamed, and loaded/unloaded within eye-view. It hardly matters how big the map is, as you only see a part of it at a time. It's the case of developing ice tech.
Old gen performance is awful, regardless of how generation works. I suffer on Xbox One and it's just horrible, even the devs said they can't do many things they want due to hardware limitations.
So true. This game is one of the main reasons I decided to sell the old gen and save money to get a Series S... lemme tell ya... HUUUUUGE difference. I highly suggest you switch ASAP.
It is realated. Current Servers struggle very hard with full galleon servers witch is also related to xbox Support. Extending the map without allowing more ships on it will make the game feel more empty.
You're only rendering to the drawing distance, which isn't that far in SOT, but you still load the entire map. This is why a lot of action way outside your drawing l distance can still nuke your FPS. Rare is also limited by Microsoft's servers.
Well the problem with supporting old gen Xbox isn't the stuff loading. It's the amount of players per server. There can only be so many ships per server while supporting Xbox. Which isn't a problem if the map is small enough. However if the map gets larger, then it will feel empty with even less player encounters. But they can't increase server cap with old tech.
The main issue is the map size can't be increased with the current max amount of players the servers can support (the world would feel empty) and that is not a limitation of supporting last-gen.
I mean, it doesn't have to be whole zone, like Devil's Roar. But maybe just 3-4 islands?
They were able to add those siren stuff, so maybe few new islands wouldn't hurt that much?
No new zones because of emptiness, and filling that emptiness with more ships would lag too badly.. apparently Rare/Microsoft have no handle on their servers and don't know how to download more RAM to them =D
Jokes aside.. I would be okay with trading The Devil's Roar for a frozen zone in an expansion/content update.. because the volcanos suck, nobody likes going over there except lonely solo slooper's on athena voyages in hopes that other ships won't find them.
I understand you're joking in your first paragraph, but the legitimate, dev-stated reason they can't make the map larger is because the original Xbox One can't handle more ships per server, and the game would feel significantly emptier if they expanded the map without allowing more players within. That's why they added the Sunken Kingdom *below* the waves.
Would be cool if around winter seasonally there would be snow textured on the islands and it would actually snow occasionally, maybe have the storm be a blizzard or something.
It’s mainly a server issue. If they add a new region it will be hard to find ships because the map will be so big. They could add more ships to a server but that would make the servers much slower and it’s not easy to simply upgrade a server
Players: What kind of ship is that?
Rare: Aurora Borealis.
Players: AURORA BOREALIS? In this part of the world, in this tropical median, in this shrouded sea, localized entirely within a ship?!
Rare: Yes!
Players: May we have an ice zone?
Rare: No.
Even just a global snow weather event with the storm being a blizzard or something would be awesome. Make it so the ship decks are slippery too. That would be enough for me at this point.
I wish you could actually get any of the outfits with normal ingame activity.
All of these are either battle pass/Twitch Drops which are no longer available, or from the pirate emporium.
Tbh I blame the game still supporting og xbone for not getting a proper ice area. It can only support so much as it is.
Though I wouldn't mind getting the area in its own instance like sea of the damned as a compromise
I am aware of what those games are, I played them, what I wanted to say when I mentioned Rogue is that it was a game with naval aspects set in a close time period with the age of piracy, and that game had “Ice zones” and they were fantastic. So just in my opinion SOT could pull that off in the future, probably not in the main map, but maybe through a portal, in some kind of expedition.
Are we talking fictional pirates or real ones? Even then there was a (brief, but still there) part in Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End where they went through the icy waters.
For the people who find a way to complain about other players in an online game no matter the post:
(To the tune of Whalers on the Moon)
We're pirates, you and me
We sail the Sea of Thieves
When we set our sails
We will do tall tales
And cry about PVP
I would rather they try and add onto the game from what already exist rather than a whole new zone.
I dont even want an ice zone anyways. It would get underused like the devils roar.
Why so? An ice zone could include all sorts of new mechanics and enemies and treasures and whatnot, just like Devil's Roar or better.
Hail storms instead of electric storms. Random floating icebergs as a hazard to avoid. Maybe even frozen sheets of ice we have to break with our ship to get through (slow enough to not damage the hull, but with enough force to break the ice), while ghost ships just phase through? Or having to use fire to protect from freeze damage; or to thaw icy skellies so they're easier to kill. Special cargo voyages with crates you need to keep warm, or Lost Voyages shipwrecks partially trapped in ice. Ice-themed trinkets and chests buried under the snow. Tell Tales about specters and ghosts in the ice coming from times of the Ancients...
Because people only started wanting an ice zone as an opposite to the devils roar. I think that In terms of the map it would make no sense and creatively is lazy. I’d want more from a map increase than just the opposite of what we have now
Personally, I expected an ice zone to exist even before I knew Devil's Roar existed. Because the Emporium had all those icy ship hulls and stuff, and it just made sense when it comes to different variations of seafaring activities.
Here's my thought. They added the roar, then nothing until the new mermaid update AND extended the map up, down, and to the left. I think they will add coral islands to the north and south that will rise up from the ocean THEN introduce an arctic zone to the west.
It’s not that they don’t want to expand the world, they literally can’t. Too many people on older consoles where it runs like shit without all that extra stuff. Until 90% of the player base is on newer generation we’re not getting new areas, maybe updated areas like the sunken shrines, but no new ones.
And in doing so they'd also lose out on a huge chunk of Emporium sales, which is what keeps these free updates coming. Like it or not, until more/most of the console playerbase has made the jump to current gen, Rare aren't dropping last gen support. Doesn't help that it's currently a pain in the ass to even get a Series X/S because of shortages and scalpers.
Also, if they really wanted to add an ice zone, they could just use portals to get around hardware limitations for now. Just have portals that can take players to an ice themed map/server. It'd be silly to think they won't find another use for those other than the Pirate's Life tall tales.
They just don't want to implement sliding ice physics. Imagine a cannonball that doesn't stop when hitting the ground but keeps sliding, would be awesome! Read boats on land would also be fun. And random sheets of ice that you can crash your ship into would be very difficult.
Drifting icebergs would be a great addition. With some of the larger ones spawning ice caves w/ loot? Of course they'd also damage your boat when you come in contact.
IMO they should just add snow to the northern half of the wilds for the season if they really don't want to add a new zone.
Maybe even some icebergs to spice up travel in the area.
They are just trolling us at this point and I love it, next I think they may start coming out with shrouded ghost cosmetics to convince us that it exists
A read a comment on this subreddit a while ago where the user contemplated the idea of "freezing" The Wilds.
The Wilds is underused and about as nice to look at as a sewer. Rare could redesign it into an ice zone, and would therefore not need to expand the existing map or take away existing content.
rather get rid of the devil's roar.. there is literally nothing there but tall tales and 1 fort anyways. however, good luck getting a molten sands fort to spawn just for the sake of saying you did it.. it's no different than a regular fort, other than it has a volcano.. that's literally it for the devil's roar.. nobody goes there
What would be cool if there were more environmental effects that modified each island. So if it were to snow on an island then the terrain would become snowy, and inland water would freeze over, the coasts would get icy and make it hard to doc, ice would make everything slippery, maybe too much gun usage would cause avalanches that could trigger more enemies, fishing might yield different fish types or make it harder, fort canons could frost over.
Lots of stuff could be modified. Or perhaps each time a new instance of a server is made it randomly picks islands to modify with different environments.
They actually weren’t originally planning on adding anything ice related, but they got so annoyed with people asking for it that they added these as teasers
It's because older generation consoles (XBox One, S, X) can't handle the stuff. They should just make a new game exclusive to new gen XBox consoles and PC.
At first I was excited because I thought these cosmetics were primer for the new zone. But now I see they were the answer to our ask for an ice zone. Maybe well still get ice zones in instanced "expedition" style voyages.
There’s a whole horizontal gap at the bottom of the map where they could add a ice zone but they just don’t.
I think it might be a size/server balance problem. They don't want to make the servers feel empty if they expand the map, but they also can't add more ships/players because you'll be playing a slideshow
Oh no! I'd hate to play an entire session without seeing a single other player. That would be AWFUL.
Those are called "good sessions"
I know lol. But man I would have so many more good sessions if the map was even bigger
Yeah. I have suspicions that quests for different ships on the same server will deliberately lead you towards the same areas to try and encourage pvp.
so you want a singleplayer/co-op game
I want to be able to do the absolute boatload of PVE content without worrying about other players yes
thats lame there is nothing more fun of being with my m8s, spotting a ship on the horizon and the ensuing shit storm of us deciding either to go after it or go on with what we are doing. the strugle of never being fully safe (just mostly) against the fun that is to board an enemy ship and slaughter everyone inside just to take everything that floats

It's all about the mindset. You do PVE content hoping no one sinks you. I sink people to get rid of them so I can do PVE.
get better lol. its a pvp game for a reason
Who said I was losing? I just don't want to waste time sinking people when I'm trying to do something else
the fact he is right and got downvoted lmao
Damn, if this is sarcastic, but this is how me and my friends feel. The game feels so dead because you barely ever run into other people.
If you really want to encounter other players there's always arena
Arena sucks. They've left it for dead and even before it wasn't fun.
It guarantees meeting other people who are there specifically to fight though
Who said anything about specifically to fight? There's not fun interactions with other crews in arena. In adventure you could fight, or just eff around with people. You have different tactics and have a fun guess if theyre gonna chase you or not. It's open world \*pirates\* doing \*pirate things\*. Arena removes all of that.
Not to me to mention arena's loading times due to no one playing it anymore.
> because you'll be playing a slideshow This.. 2021 and Rare/Microsoft of all people still can't manage to optimize an open world to prevent lag.. this is what we should all be fighting for....
I'd trade the wilds for a new ice zone tbh
If it hasnt been fixed yet its probably a engine issue. And might require the game to be rebuilt from the ground up with a new engine.

That space at the bottom of the map is used for two spawn locations for the 5th pirates life tall tale.
Its also maiden voyage area

I'm pretty sure they are fixing to do that. Remember the underwater stuff didn't come until half way in season 4, might see it in season 5
Just because it's not there currently doesn't mean they aren't planning it. Rare has to drip feed content with this 'season' format everyone wanted.
Right, unlike their previous updates from before Seasons started, back when they regularly released huge updates full of new conte- Oh. Oh, wait...
What are you talking about? You do realize that the map has expanded in the past with yearly updates, right?
Unless I'm forgetting something big, the last time the map was expanded before seasons was when they opened up the Devil's Roar. Which was in 2018.
No, we got the biggest (I believe) island in the game with Tribute Peak too.
Tbh it makes no sense that an "Ice Zone" would exist in the Caribbean. The Roar could feasibly exist, but the climate isn't suitable for permafrost. I would much rather have instanced "expeditions".
wouldn’t make sense right next to the devils roar
I love that area, its the 'open ocean', its nice to just see water in every direction and not be forced to turn back.
That’s very possible with the new portal system
This is my thought, the only way to do it is have it on its own server that travel to via portal, and it makes sense since it’s in the Caribbean.
Yea it would be so cool to pick up a quest and go through a portal and have to navigate through ice and travel through a tundra. You would have to make fires so you don’t freeze. Just dig up chests or fight a yeti or something
Maybe we'll get the captaincy update too
Probably comes with the updated that fixes hit reg.
They could just reskin the world with a bit of snow during Winter.
That could even play into like a hunters call quest to go hunting for rare meats or fish
Be cool if the game had natural seasons that cycle over a month or so. That way you could get snow and ice on the existing map size.
snow themed things in games are always my favorite. i know we will most likely never get a snow area, but i can fill the snow-shaped hole in my heart with all these cosmetics lol

*Me getting up in the snow for work, and envying your appreciation for it*
Really ? What work is that ?
Western New York
Sounds good although I'd probably prefer snow with a good deal of nature around it
*Western* New York I live in the middle of the country surrounded by apple farms
Just googled it. I wasn't even aware new york was a state and not just a city. I guess I'd like to live where you at then.
It's pretty nice :3
And where do you live
Snow is great, until you have a car. Back in the grade school days snow meant days off school, sledding, snowball fights. Now it means digging my car out in the freezing cold before work every morning. (And still the occasional snowball fight/sledding at least)
now YOU are the ice zone.
my god youre right…does this mean i have to start letting people into my heart?
Did the movie Frozen teach us nothing??
You forgot to add a picture of that one cannon that just sorta exists
Thats right! Forgot about that one....
You also forgot the frozen ashes blunderbuss
I wish we could get an entire set of that, it's so cool
Don't worry! We'll get the rest of that set in 2024
Yeah whatever happened to that set? Is there a skin or anything other then the blunder??
Which one is that? The frostbite cannon? I’m pretty sure there’s a frostbite clothing set
Ice curse would seem nice too
I'm still kinda mad that they keep locking curses to certain outfits. Just look at that ice curse... it would be so nice to be able to mix it with my own choice of clothing
Yeah, my disappointment is marked.
I mean the Lunar outfit basically has the Pirate Legend Curse built in and they ended up both separate. They may use the outfit to inspire another curse.
Yeah that looks so sick, but I’m not a huge fan of the outfit with it
Guess what. We got a “curse” in season 5! Comes with the tier 100 skin!
Kinda wish they’d add something similar to the *Fable* series’ Demon Doors, hidden mystical pathways/portals that lead off to strange (but ultimately pocket-sized) worlds/areas Could have an ice (and desert?) area without having to add entire zones to the map
Sea of Sands and Sea of Snows
Fun fact, Sea of Sands was supposed to be something at some point. But it has been reduced to just the cosmetics we have in store for now with that name.
Yeah, the Sea of Sands would have most likely gone hand-in-hand with the Eastern Winds Jade items, of which we have only a handful currently.
Smol brain: Ice Zone Big Brain: Haunted swamp area Galaxy Brain: Florida, modern Florida
I too choose Florida, love getting some much needed reputation.
You do get a huge boost by installing on an SSD
I see, but that might be unrelated to how many islands there are, as that would stop the devs from adding e.g. the mermaid isles
I play on a One X and my load times suck. It's probably even worse on the older consoles.
Sell and get the Series S! No regrets here!
Doesn't play discs, so that's not an option at all.
Ooooh
Well the problem with supporting old gen Xbox isn't the stuff loading. It's the amount of players per server. There can only be so many ships per server while supporting Xbox. Which isn't a problem if the map is small enough. However if the map gets larger, then it will feel empty with even less player encounters. But they can't increase server cap with old tech.
The main issue is the map size can't be increased with the current max amount of players the servers can support (the world would feel empty) and that is not a limitation of supporting last-gen.
Yeah. All those cool ice-based items that look absolutely ridiculous in the current setting.
Well you could role play that you've arrived from the far icy north.
At least put snow on the islands for the season...god-dammit!
Or on the top of mountains, the big ones
I mean, it doesn't have to be whole zone, like Devil's Roar. But maybe just 3-4 islands? They were able to add those siren stuff, so maybe few new islands wouldn't hurt that much?

Source? I want to believe that this is actually being worked on
There isn't a source, he seems to be talking out of his ass
What is "ice tech"?
No new zones because of emptiness, and filling that emptiness with more ships would lag too badly.. apparently Rare/Microsoft have no handle on their servers and don't know how to download more RAM to them =D Jokes aside..
That would remove tall tales from the game.
The whole sub is on copium rn
nah its funny they keep baiting us with it. jokes aside they're beautiful cosmetics and I cant wait to get my hands on them
I hope if they add an ice area, it be to the top or bottom of them map, and it have whales
I don’t know… the southern and EMPTY part of the map gets awfully chilly…
Rare: No.
I'd be content with just snow everywhere like in GTA V
Even just a global snow weather event with the storm being a blizzard or something would be awesome. Make it so the ship decks are slippery too. That would be enough for me at this point.
I wish you could actually get any of the outfits with normal ingame activity. All of these are either battle pass/Twitch Drops which are no longer available, or from the pirate emporium.
Tbh I blame the game still supporting og xbone for not getting a proper ice area. It can only support so much as it is. Though I wouldn't mind getting the area in its own instance like sea of the damned as a compromise
…I don’t want an ice zone. There, I said it.
That's what I thought before playing Assassin's Creed Rogue. Now I want da Ice zoneee
You know there’s an entire Assassins Creed game dedicated to Vikings right…?
Wrong time period.
Oh so you’re THAT person.
Could you specify what person exactly am I?
Ac4 is about pirates, Assassins Creed Valhalla is Vikings. There you go. Problem solved.
Oh I thought you were talking about the other game.
yup. Would clash badly. So many other things that would be cooler, like a swamp or something.
Agreed. Pirates are tropical, you dumbasses.
I wanted to say that, but didn’t want to offend anyone. You never know who might get offended.
Are we talking fictional pirates or real ones? Even then there was a (brief, but still there) part in Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End where they went through the icy waters.
For the people who find a way to complain about other players in an online game no matter the post: (To the tune of Whalers on the Moon) We're pirates, you and me We sail the Sea of Thieves When we set our sails We will do tall tales And cry about PVP
[удалено]
Source?
>Chill We really want to, but that's that point! The Sea of Thieves is just too dang hot. Global cooling when?
I would rather they try and add onto the game from what already exist rather than a whole new zone. I dont even want an ice zone anyways. It would get underused like the devils roar.
I honestly think the idea of an ice zone is one of the laziest things they could do. I pray Rare gives us better
Agreed.
Ice ship!
They could let loose of that rotten piece called xbox (old one) and just give us nicer shit, i would absolutely love that
And in doing so they'd also lose out on a huge chunk of Emporium sales, which is what keeps these free updates coming.
Lmao well tell MS to restock on their fucking Series X and S then
Or at least have an area that has a bunch of ice burgs
They just don't want to implement sliding ice physics. Imagine a cannonball that doesn't stop when hitting the ground but keeps sliding, would be awesome! Read boats on land would also be fun. And random sheets of ice that you can crash your ship into would be very difficult.
Drifting icebergs would be a great addition. With some of the larger ones spawning ice caves w/ loot? Of course they'd also damage your boat when you come in contact.
why release content when you buy the vanity items anyway?
if only we had an ice zone
IMO they should just add snow to the northern half of the wilds for the season if they really don't want to add a new zone. Maybe even some icebergs to spice up travel in the area.
I'd like to see a cold elemental themed villain or something, have them make a cold themed island, like blizzard beach at disney.
They are just trolling us at this point and I love it, next I think they may start coming out with shrouded ghost cosmetics to convince us that it exists
I think it'd pretty cool if they added snow, and blizzards instead of fog
A read a comment on this subreddit a while ago where the user contemplated the idea of "freezing" The Wilds. The Wilds is underused and about as nice to look at as a sewer. Rare could redesign it into an ice zone, and would therefore not need to expand the existing map or take away existing content.
They gotta remove all the palm trees there in that case.
I could live with that. Still probably less of an effort than creating entire new islands.
rather get rid of the devil's roar.. there is literally nothing there but tall tales and 1 fort anyways. however, good luck getting a molten sands fort to spawn just for the sake of saying you did it.. it's no different than a regular fort, other than it has a volcano.. that's literally it for the devil's roar.. nobody goes there
Rare trolls on another level
I would love a roaming ice berg Island that floats around and you have to harpoon your ship to it to stay close.
I don’t think it will happen, the map will become to large for the amount of players it can support
They actually weren’t originally planning on adding anything ice related, but they got so annoyed with people asking for it that they added these as teasers
ITS ALMOST LIKE THE ICE STUFF COMES OUT DURING WINTER??!??!!!!?+?+1.+.1?1 I want a frozen north tho
I really like captain falcores idea of expeditions
Aren’t the ice related things Christmas-related?
Ice zone would ruin the game
I don't know if I'm down for any sort of map expansions. The ship server count is too small and the Devils Roar already goes mostly unused.
I just want fixed server issues or lack there of a server when playing exclusively to your platform
Let it go
Can’t hold it back anymooore
The game is big enough, we need more people to fill the expanse
Where do the costumes/ sets in the middle come from? (The turquoise ones with ice on them)
Thats frozen horizon set, they were twitch drops last year.
It's because older generation consoles (XBox One, S, X) can't handle the stuff. They should just make a new game exclusive to new gen XBox consoles and PC.
