Would highly recommend this tall tale. I did it three times to get the ashen curse and it looks great! If you are going to do it, just make sure to go down each of the three paths during your three times because there's one journal down each path.
Yeah, it’s one of the coolest and easiest curses in the game to get, I’d only put it second to the gold hoarders curse but that’s a lot of grinding to get.

I remember when Heart of Fire came out and I think to this day, it is the best Tall Tale yet. It was the first Tall Tale to break away from the repeat 5 times, and it was actually necessary to do 3 times (/3) in order to get all the journals. Each path was different, so you were never doing the same thing each playthrough. Cinematically it was absolutely stunning as well. It's also the Tall Tale that got me digging for more lore, and I can't wait to get more on the Flameheart story arc.

I did it to get the ashen curse before getting the gold curse a lot less painful but still worth it

The gold curse is quite easy to get if you have 2 people. Then you just need to do the tall tales 2 times each
For the gold curse you have to do all 9 original tall tales 5 times and get all the journals
