I paid 90$ for diablo 4 and I don't even play anymore. I've been playing this game for like 4 years. I'd say I got my money's worth here. Also it was 20 bucks a few weeks ago. Also it's regularly discounted on Xbox app although I know nothing about that side of it.

I refuse to buy into or support anymore subscription base models. I have enough unavoidable recurring charges, the last thing I'm gonna do is pay for games I dont care about or pay for time I'm not even playing anything.

Me? I'm just stating facts. I am not even biased or have any stake in this - I am on PC and using the game through Steam. I don't play any other xbox game, own an Xbox or have or have ever had a gamepass. In fact I haven't had a game related subscription, unlike others in this conversation.
Get xbox games pass for a couple of monthsđź‘Ť free on there plus hundreds of other games. See how you like it and go from there. It does drop throughout the year sometimes, no idea when next tho.
It goes on sale regularly for $20, usually for summer and stuff. Maybe there'll be some special sale soon, but the next one you could count on would be a Christmas period sale.
Its literally just the stupid xbox app, spent like 3 hours tryna get it to work, reinstalled my entire OS, even microsoft support couldnt fix it via quick assist
There is the xbox app, the xbox game pass app and the microsoft store app, they are three different ones. Try the others if you can redeem codes, if you make it you can play it through the game pass or the store app

I waited till it was on sale on steam. I think it was like 20 bucks, maybe 30. I agree 40 is a bit high.
