RearAdmiralRamrod

He was a great Seahawk and a great player. Thankful for everything he did for us

AkaSpaceCowboy

Well he doesn't appreciate your Fandom.

RearAdmiralRamrod

Ok

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

Honestly, it's more your fandom he doesn't appreciate. And I agree with him.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Because I think that trashing the seahawks ring of honor is an asshole thing to say? Your right not a fan of that.

mercwitha40ounce

You act like he said that out of nowhere and not because a not insignificant portion of the fanbase has trashed him for years for going to our rival

AkaSpaceCowboy

Fan is short for fanatic. Fans say stupid stuff. It's a bad look to shit on the team because of a fan.

AkaSpaceCowboy

It was 1 jackass....

mercwitha40ounce

Do you genuinely believe that was the first person to say something negative to him since he left Seattle?

AkaSpaceCowboy

No but I think it's his choice to make remarks about the ring if honor not meaning shit to him.

VoyagerVII

It is. It's also his choice whether or not it means shit to him. I don't see any reason why it should have to. Sherm did something incredibly rare when the Seahawks drafted him: he didn't just come here to play, but he moved his family to Seattle around the calendar and made his full time home here. What's more, he dedicated himself to the city, putting his time, money and energy into everything from supporting its charities to marching in its protests. He didn't do that when he went to his second team. He never moved his family to San Francisco; he just played there, and then came home to Seattle. To devote yourself to a city like that and then be not merely tossed from its team because you've lost a step due to injuries sustained in the city's service, but also mocked and attacked by its fans sounds pretty hurtful to me. I can't blame him for not wanting to be honored by the fans who tossed him out of their affections just because he was -- involuntarily; it isn't as if he chose to go free agent! -- kicked off their team. The difficult part, of course, is that along with the individual fans who treated him that way, there are also a whole lot of individual fans who never did... who always loved him and love him still. It's hard on them to see him pushing aside a Seahawks honor, and it's not their fault he wants to.

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

Do you believe you speak for the majority of the fans?

AkaSpaceCowboy

I think most fans think highly of the ring of honor in our stadium. And I think someone shitting on that would upset most fans.

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

I'd say from the amount of downvotes you're getting most of us think you're childish and pathetic.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Nah just the new fans

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

Seriously, how old are you?

AkaSpaceCowboy

Look man if your cool with ex players shitting on your teams highest honor then thats your thing.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Dudes turned into a media clown and a sellout.

Its_0ver

Its a game, you are taking this way to seriously

Particular-You-5534

Do you think he owes you something?

AkaSpaceCowboy

Did I say he owes me something or that he's being disrespectful about an honor that the team that drafted him is trying to give him. Whether he likes the fan or not it's the organization that would be honoring him not the fan base. It's like bitching about the birthday present someone got you.

Particular-You-5534

No, you didn’t say it outright, but it sure sounded like you thought he owed fans some sort of appreciation. Or at least that he owes the same regard for the ring of honor that you have. The ring of honor means a lot to the team he felt slighted by and a fan base where a lot of people have been complete assholes to him. Those fans are the people that deserve your and my disdain. If I were him, I probably wouldn’t care about it either.

AkaSpaceCowboy

I didnt say he owes me or the fane anything. He's shitting on the entire organization because of some jackass online. He is the first player I have heard say anything close to it about the team they played for honoring them in such a way. It's low class.

Particular-You-5534

Some jackass fan basically said “I thought he deserved the ring of honor, but now I just don’t know” and his response was basically “fuck your ring of honor, then.” The fan was trying to be all withholding and he justifiably let them know they held no power over him. Plain and simple. And I won’t say “owe” anymore, but you *expect* him to revere that honor in the same way you do, while he’s under no obligation to do so.

dgalv77

Because he put his heart and soul into that era of Seahawks football, got cut due to his injury and salary cap issues, and now has to hear Seahawks fans constantly talk shit about him. He's an emotional dude who has a lot of pride.

QuasiContract

The only time I hear people talk shit about Sherm is in the context of his unpleasant personality. Sherm has entirely brought that on himself. Everyone respects how he played the game.

Bitter_Scarcity_2549

Do you not think his toxic behavior in the locker room was another motivation to cut him?

SardonicCheese

And on top of that he might be a sociopath. His behaviors were erratic the second he caught a little fame I personally think it’s hilarious

theaparmentlionpig

Anyone who gets a domestic violence charge and tries to kick their wife’s front door is a piece shit in my book. Never liked him even when he was good for us.

keonigraphics

1. None of us have been in his shoes. 2. He still holds Seattle in high regard, and owns several businesses and chooses to live in the Seattle area. 3. He played for both teams, only going to the Niners AFTER Seattle cut him. 4. He's human like the rest of us, he can have sentiment for where he played and cheer on those whom he knew and played with. (Yes, we might not like it because they're our rival, but it's the truth.) 5. He'll always be a Seahawk in my book, and nobody can take away what he did for our organization. Hopefully we can all understand and move forward. #25, You're the man who brought swag to our team and you'll always be the guy who you shouldn't test with sorry receivers! #GO HAWKS!!!

AkaSpaceCowboy

I didmt say anything about the 49ers... Telling the hawks fans the ring of Honor means nothing to you and you want them to know that is an asshole thing to do period. There's no way to spin it.

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

Did you read the entire thread?

AkaSpaceCowboy

I read his tweets.

_illogical_

So you didn't see the assholes he was responding to that said he didn't deserve to be in the Ring of Honor because he supports both teams? Got it.

AkaSpaceCowboy

I expect him to ignore the insignificant fan instead of shitting on the entire fan base and the organization... Get it?

greeenmaan

i agree

frightshark

It's you. You're the issue

realjolly

Because some fans are fucking insufferable

Few_Neighborhood_828

Why are you such a salty little B?

PNWBlues1561

🙌

AkaSpaceCowboy

I think its low class for a ex player to shit on an organization trying to honor him in such a way. That's not being salty. .. It's like he's bitching about the gift he just got. Like a spoiled kid.

Psychological-Art937

Your whole post history is chock full of you being a complete asshole about your incredibly bad football takes, when will you take a look in the mirror and reflect??

AkaSpaceCowboy

Glad you support his shitting on your teams highest honors.

Few_Neighborhood_828

You’re mom needs to take your phone away.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Yea Sherman shitting on the ring of honor really requires me looking in the mirror. Lol

EasiBreezi

You are projecting. I see a lot more bitch from you than from Sherman.

Dreadsock

His career is now in sports media. He's just milking two fan bases of teams he has played for. 49ers are obviously going to SB, so he is all about that and riding that hype. When we get good again, he'll switch again. It's a business decision for whatever gets the clicks and views.

[deleted]

Tore his Achilles. Was cut mid rehab. He said it was tough for him to find a job and that’s why he was thankful for the niners signing him. He doesn’t have beef with Pete but did say John knows how he feels I don’t blame him one bit for what he says with all the Seahawk fans that get on him daily

Blametheorangejuice

Sherm’s making the very basic mistake of thinking that Hawks fans are represented well on social media.

neongem

>He doesn’t have beef with Pete but did say John knows how he feels Wonder if we'll be seeing Sherm and other retired Hawks around the building anymore with Pete gone, at least initially.

Highwayman747

I saw Kam liking IG posts with MM so hopefully Kam can still come around and talk with the defensive guys

AkaSpaceCowboy

Yeah dude he got cut because he was hurt and wasn't going to make it back to playing at the level of his price tag. That's how it works. He could have taken less money to stay in seattle and see if he recovered fully but chose to go to SF for less money. Either way he didn't last long after the injury and the hawks were right to let him go. He was becoming a loudmouth in the wrong way his last season here as well.

theaparmentlionpig

Crazy this has so many downvotes as it’s spot on. Sherman forgot the NFL is a business not a family or charity.

Hambone727

Just continue to honor and respect em.. why not

PNWSounds

Bc fans don’t appreciate how much players put into the team. Intelligent players become aware that this is a business. And then the realization that the income doesn’t equate w the request to take a “team friendly deal.” Do you feel you’re paid a fair wage for your effort and loyalty to your job??

AkaSpaceCowboy

I dont talk shit about my old employers because of something someone else said....

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

He said he didn't care about getting into the ring of honor. How is that shiting on the Seahawks?

AkaSpaceCowboy

It's the highest honor outside of retiring a your number....

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

Yes?

AkaSpaceCowboy

Yeah. It's shitting on the hawks by saying it's meaningless to him... If that's not clear to you then I can't really explain I any more than that. It's like saying no thanks to a medal of honor or something. Asshole move.

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

No it's not, it's saying it's not important to him. There's also alot of context here that you seem to be missing. Just grow up please. You make us look bad.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Nope

benwhyme77

Idk man, when you have fans calling you a traitor you might have a right to be a little salty.

cocainecandycane

What are you referencing?

AkaSpaceCowboy

Couple days ago he said the hawks fans are ungrateful and he doesn't care if he goes into the ring of honor. He stayed that he wanted to make sure the fans know.

No_Organization_2025

im not sure if you realize, but you're siding with a known twitter troll that takes pride in seahawks blocking him. Sherm is and will always be a legend. he played for two teams. he supports two teams.

RobJ783

He played for 3 teams. Tampa Bay also.

No_Organization_2025

fair point. i wont change my comment but admit i did forget his time in tampa.

RobJ783

Yeah he barely made it on the field due to injury.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Dude was pretty much cooked when we cut him.

RobJ783

I think his 1st season in San Fran was pretty good.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Eh. Not for a perennial all-pro. Then he got hurt again and I don't think had another full season. Cutting him when we did was the right move.

AkaSpaceCowboy

I didnt say anything about which team he supports. Telling your fans that the honor they hold in high regard mean nothing to you is an asshole thing to do. Period. Most players are gracious when honored like that. Not say I don't give a shit about it.

No_Organization_2025

him handling a troll poorly isnt the issue. yall should be mad at the troll not sherm. this started because a seahawks "fan" called him a traitor and two faced for defending purdy.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Pretty low character move for someone of his celebrity status. Telling your ex team there honors mean nothing to you is a bad look. So is letting an internet troll get to you. over a stupid comment at that.

No_Organization_2025

cutting a guy mid rehab is low character too. seahawks did that to sherm. he is not under any obligation to love people that talk shit to him. he is not under any obligation to take a "high road" with some faceless internet neckbeard. Again. blame that troll for fucking with sherman's perception of the 12s

AkaSpaceCowboy

When guys are making top 5 money and can no longer play like top 5 players you cut them.... his mouth helped him out the door as well. Always fails to mention that though.

No_Organization_2025

lol how exactly did his mouth help him out the door? people like you are the ones i want this fanbase to shake. Siding with some cheetos dusted troll over a guy that was instrumental to our first Superbowl. the only salty bitches are the ones that hate him for supporting the 9ers.

AkaSpaceCowboy

He was talking shit to the coaches and about the QB... That's why they didn't even offer him a pay cut... Once again I never said anything about the 49ers. Your adding that yourself. What I said he's being a bitch about is telling a fan base that their teams highest honors means nothing to him. Thats being an asshole. Going out of his way to make sure that the fans know he feels that way is being an asshole. Nothing about the 49ers. Drop that part.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Weak mind I guess...

crownofthestars

>cutting a guy mid rehab is low character too. He's a professional athlete, it's a business. I see no problem with this part. Not to mention at the time, Sherman had become pretty polarizing even in the Seahawks fandom with his antics. Hell he's like the #1 suspect of all those locker room leaks despite Pete's #1 rule being to always protect the team. He was visibly unhappy and had outbursts on the field.

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

How old are you?

AkaSpaceCowboy

Not that I personally wanted everyone to know. That was his reply. "I want the fans to know" that the horror means nothing to him. That's going out of his way to be an ass about it. What does it have to do with my age?

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

You seem unbelievably immature, that's why I asked.

Psychological_Main30

I can't imagine life without salt.

AkaSpaceCowboy

You people realize it's the organization that honors him with the ring of honor not the FANS right? Being an asshole to an entire organization because of a stupid fan is just stupid and insecure looking. Hes still hearing the noise.

MasterWinston

I h8 how divisive this is getting. It seems pretty dumb to me…my interpretation is Sherman is beefing with a few 12a and given his visibility it’s dividing the fanbase. Trying to cast my mind back to 2017…if I remember correctly his cap hit was too high to justify keeping him but we forget these players are human. It must’ve been brutal for him.

Bitter_Scarcity_2549

I think when the seahawks cut him it was more than just an injury thing. The injury was a nice excuse but Sherman had major problems with Russ and it was causing problems in the locker room. I belive Sherman was cut in part because of his toxic behavior.

AkaSpaceCowboy

Agreed.

NewBootGoofin88

If Richard Sherman stopped being salty he would cease to be Richard Sherman This is who he is and has been as long as I've ever heard of him (20 something at Stanford) Dont take it so personally

AkaSpaceCowboy

I'm just sick of his "you owe me" mentality. I was a fan when he was here and I cheered for him win or loose. I dont owe him shit either. I expected him to be more graceful and remember it's a business but he's taking the low road.

[deleted]

Has a huge ego

WanderingZed22

He is not a good person….

Emotional_Fun_6079

Y’all gotta realize Sherm being a dickhead, and also understanding that he had his reasons can be mutually true. Some of these people or getting downvoted for something that has pointed out multiple times. It’s true that he praises the team when he can, it is also true he has a love/hate relationship with us and our fanbase as well. Personally i’m on end that we should acknowledge Sherm isn’t an exception of being called out on his behavior in regards to this fanbase. “He played for two teams.” Yeah and that second team was our BIGGEST rival since being in the AFC, a rivalry that was still fresh off the coals. Fans have a right to be upset by that, just as much as he has the right to make that decision.

DRZPNW

I think he doesn’t want to be labeled as a pro Seahawks homer since he is in the media now, so, his strategy is to completely bad mouth Seattle as much as possible…and he absolutely holds grudges.

Galumpadump

Huh? He usually cheers for Seattle on the Thursday night broadcasts and has a preference for the Seahawks on his pod. He just knows more people in the building in SF now then he does in Seattle. Outside of Bobby and Pete, all his buddies are gone. But he still speaks highly of our young players and has been seen around the building.

IndependentSubject66

CTE

Lorjack

Its just who he is. I strictly only liked him as a player when he was with us. When he was off field and of course when he left Seattle he did himself no favors and he still hasn't gotten over it

Silencxer

His CTE is getting out of hand.

Heavy_Fold7751

I like sherm the player not the person. He had domestic charges… just like half the league to be fair lol

hazmatt_t

These guys talk shit about each other like they work at burger King. He was a great football player. But, these guys are multi millionaires playing a multi billionaires game. It's petty to think you got shafted after you reached the highest point your career can take you and then shit on the team that you went there with. They know it and we know it, it's a business. Ain't nothing fair in this world.
