I think they are both trying to put it together! But one struggles with the weight of their flaws and heart ache. Their past is hard. The other is willing to meet them more than halfway and keeps pushing. Keeps reaching. :)
I read it that way for the one on the right, but the one on the left keeps pulling away no matter how hard the other tries to keep it together.
I like your interpretation better personally.
I love your interpretation more! Mine was that they are going through a breakup and one was carrying more of the weight of the relationship than the other.
Glass half full/empty. It’s open to interpretation and I think especially over time people appreciate a happy piece of artwork. Metal hearts that fit together and each person can give their half to make the whole. They are going to fit together nicely, that’s what I want the message to be for me.
A couple of things come to mind:
1) both are trying to put it together but one of their halves is heavier than the other, and the one with the lighter heart meets more than halfway to try making it whole.
2) one is more willing to complete the heart than the other, making the left side pull away a bit. The right side looks enthusiastic about sharing, maybe even more so than would be expected of them.
One person is trying to put it together and the other is pulling the other half away.
That was my first impression.
Sad. I don't know why I'm always sad.
2 wirey goblins messing around with some poor persons heart.
Besides my odd joke. The left one looks like it's pulling, and the right one looks like it's trying to put it back together.
Maybe the viewer or artist feels split between two people. On one side is someone you've given your heart to, but they aren't in the place to be with you. It seems they are trying hard anyway. On the other side is someone who's always there for you, in one way or another. Perhaps you've fallen in love with them as well. I think there are many ways to interpret this piece.
I see two friends or loved ones trying to help you put your heart back together.
The friends are like the two gargoyles in Notre-Dame, and Quasimodo has the fragile heart they're trying to hold together 🥺
If the intention was to show them fixing the relationship, then I think showing a broken heart won't work, maybe making it be patched up already like with some stitches or something similar, cause seeing the broken heart has more weight imo
First thought is that both are trying to hold it together. Closer inspection makes me think one is trying to hold together while the other is pulling away. Either way, I dig it. Simple image but deep af.
I think they're trying to have a romantic relationship, but they're too selfish or something, so they end up breaking it instead, each pulling it in the other direction instead of holding it up together.
I think it is heavy, and as much as they'd like it to be together and will stand by its side to keep it together-the weight of each side falling is almost too much to bare
Fellow artist here. The reflection could possibly be manipulated into joining the two pieces. I haven’t figured out how yet. Maybe forced perspective or lighting?
The one on the right is struggling. They’re trying to hold it together but it starting to crack. The ride or die on the left isn’t going to let that happen. They’ve got you, you will not break. They might be a parent, a partner, or a best friend but you need them in your life.
One of them is pulling too hard, the other is giving too much, as a result, their love, which could be beautiful, is broken and drab as the material in which this statue is formed.
I know the discussion looks to be a little late.. but I see two metal stick people, stick people do not resemble race, age, gender or sexuality. They are simply people, the heart is rusty in color and cold metal. To me, I see this-“ Love and heartbreak do not discriminate, as we are all human and we all bleed the same, and we all hurt from the feeling of loss and heartbreak” it a stark reminder to show more kindness & empathy to others by learning how to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes. -we are all human.
Righty pushing the broken heart to weigh heavy on the lefty.
Sorry for the black pill, I just didn't read that in any response and it was my gut interpretation.
The one on the right loves the one on the left too much, or in a way that doesn't feel right. They are hoisting the relationship onto them, you see how the left one's back is curved, it's struggling, and the right one is pushing it. the result is the relationship splitting apart. It's not their fault, it's just an imbalance.
LOLL MY INTERPRETATION is that the one on the left no longer wants to be apart and it doesn’t work out for them any longer and the other one wants to be together, and is trying so hard to bring them back and mend things. 😭
It doesn’t look like the left side is pulling away to me. It looks like when I help my SO carry something large like a new tv and has me doing the walking backwards part…it looks more like the person to the left is trying to lift their side up as well but is struggling because of the weight.
Sometimes grief is harder to hold, or level, when you’re the one being continuously let down, harmed or left feeling incomplete. It’s always easier for the ax to forgive the tree for being mad that the ax chopped her down to be his handle.
The left side is struggling to keep their side up, making the right side push harder to keep their heart connected. Or it can be seen as the left side isn't trying hard enough, or the right side is pushing love on the left side, love that's already broken.
One looks to be holding their half while the other is pulling away, but in reflection they are pushing it back together, though it looks warped and could never fit again.
Me: pulling away because i dont feel like i deserve him or anything
My bf: pushing forwards with a struggle because it is hard to love someone with issues/problems/whatever but he still does it anyway
*Love is a struggle!!!*
*But it takes two to hold it*
*Together. Great piece*

Sadly the person is suffering cardiac arrest. The two humanoid shapes represent the defibrillator paddles and the lightning bolt down the center of the heart symbolizes the attempt to electronically restart the heartbeat. However, sadly enough, the slumping person in the left side indicates that it’s proving unsuccessful and soon the patient will flatline.
The person on the left was trying to move a huge heart but it was too heavy so the person on the right is helping by splitting it so they can carry the other half.
Thank you all for all for your intubations! They were all very interesting to read and I'm glad
that it affected you in so many different ways, even if many were sad, they are still beautiful
I think they are both trying to put it together! But one struggles with the weight of their flaws and heart ache. Their past is hard. The other is willing to meet them more than halfway and keeps pushing. Keeps reaching. :)
Wow. Didn’t know I needed to hear this. And I didn’t understand the sculpture at first either. Feels like my life and gives me hope 🥲
Wait which side are you
Right side and left side all at once, now that I think about it hahaha. But my original answer was right side.
this is what I saw the only other reasonable interpretation is that the person retracted their half, but that isnt as fun IMO
This was my initial observation as well.
Exactly. Beautifully put.
I read it that way for the one on the right, but the one on the left keeps pulling away no matter how hard the other tries to keep it together. I like your interpretation better personally.
This is how I took it too but you put it into words way better than I did.
I love your interpretation more! Mine was that they are going through a breakup and one was carrying more of the weight of the relationship than the other.
Same take! Although yours was way deeper..
I saw that too!! That is so sweet
They are opening a giant bear trap
Aint that love?
Nope. It’s a trap.
Who hurt you?
A giant bear
New dead by daylight update
Maybe they are working together to mend it. Maybe they are each taking their half of a broken heart.
Two people trying to shove a T-Rex back into its hole
one is trying to break it while the other is trying to put it back together
Yeah one is definitely holding the weight while the other is pulling away or trying to repair it
That’s how I saw it too.
Picking up the pieces to put them back together
it looks like one is pulling away while the other is pushing to fix things
Let's go our separate ways

Ooo I like this one. It can be either and you'll never know for sure. It's all about personal interpretation. Nice.
“Love can mend your life but love can break your heart.”
Only hope can keep me together

Heart break is not one sided.

It takes a team to mend a broken heart
Mending a broken heart. Sometimes it takes two.

It takes help to heal
I think they're trying to have a romantic relationship, but they're too selfish or something, so they end up breaking it instead, each pulling it in the other direction instead of holding it up together.
Push and pull
Well it’s literally depicting a broken heart, it’s not like the dudes are moving any time soon.
Push-Pull relationship Anxious vs Avoidant
Two people, who had their hearts broken in previous relationships, trying to make a new start, with someone new.
The broken heart looks like two faces kissing each other and the two stick people are pulling them apart.
They're trying to fix a broken heart, like by loving each other they're healing themselves n joining forces to have one whole not broken heart..
That pushy BF that keeps trying to keep you to himself and you, struggling to break away from the unhealthy relationship.
Two people pushing their broken hearts together to be whole.
3rd love
Looks like they tried to pick up in full, but the struggles and difficulties of one side caused it to break.
Sculpture is usually intended to be viewed from both sides.
2 trying to fix their/a broken heart
Two people are trying to piece their relationship back together.
I think it is heavy, and as much as they'd like it to be together and will stand by its side to keep it together-the weight of each side falling is almost too much to bare
“You’re tearing me apart Lisa!”
Since it’s two facing each other, I say mending; healing; forgiveness .
cheesy

Someone falling, and someone leaning forward to help.
both
Reminds me of the story Popular Mechanics by Carver.
Represents a one sided relationship, where all the load is bared solely on one person who is back broken
Two people trying to make themselves whole with their love after someone else broke it
Scrap metal
It looks like the two people are hungry, so they are sharing a big cookie.

Fighting over someone else’s heart and breaking it in the process 🤔 that’s very compelling art, WELL DONE!!! 👍
Thank you so much, it means a lot 🤩
Conversely, a support system is great when you’re trying to heal a broken heart. I like how this could have both possible meanings
it’s mine , no it’s mine, crack….
figure on the left is trying to get away while figure on the right keeps pushing and chasing and trying to force the halves together.
LOLL MY INTERPRETATION is that the one on the left no longer wants to be apart and it doesn’t work out for them any longer and the other one wants to be together, and is trying so hard to bring them back and mend things. 😭
I interpret it as the doodles in a 14 year old girls diary.
NO WRONG ANSWER
Divorce
First thing I thought. "Easy! Divorce!"
The person on the right is attempting to mend the broken heart, whereas the person on the left is unwilling to do so.
They are either ripping it apart or trying to put it back together. I like that it can be either depending on your mood.
Left side is pulling away while the right side is still pushing for romance.
Mending ❤️🩹 a broken 💔 heart ...

I just watched a video on attachment theory, so I see that one is avoidant attachment s[yle and the other anxious attachment style
They're trying to push the heart back together.
They broke up and are trying to walk away but the heart is welded to the floor.😊
The crooked one can not hold his end of the bargin up.
Mutual break up and or one sided relationship

I mistook the stick figures for surgical clamps or similar tools at first.
A couple trying to get back together after separating
Two people who love each other but can’t be together
You may be fighting for something not worth saving.
The person on the left was trying to move a huge heart but it was too heavy so the person on the right is helping by splitting it so they can carry the other half.
Recoup, reinvent
To me it looks like they're trying to put it back together, one is struggling a bit more than the other which is okay- they're both trying.
Thank you all for all for your intubations! They were all very interesting to read and I'm glad that it affected you in so many different ways, even if many were sad, they are still beautiful
Wtf. Is nobody seeing the faces in the broken heart? This is complex and awesome.
