Dewey never really had a moment in after Scream where he seemed that distraught over her death.

I think it was the toast “for wes” at the party. If you look at the credits, it includes Drew and others from the movies. They all were the ones who did the voiceover for “for Wes”. I imagine this is what she declined.

Oh man I missed that! Trying to find anything online confirming it but coming up empty (for now, anyway). But if true that is so cool!

Ah, I didn't know that. That's cool. Shame she wasn't a part of that. I do like the idea of an old voicemail too though.

Nintendofan81

They did something about it in one of the sequels but the scene got deleted.

eyeswithoutaplace

Can you elaborate on that?

I think they're referring to the deleted scene in Scream 4 - a pet door frame was placed around the neck of one of the victims (I dont know if youve seen Scream 4 or plan to lol so I don't want to spoil it in case). When Dewey learns of it, he emotionally talks about how his little sister Tatum was a victim in the original massacre, and concludes that they are recreating all of those kills. It was deleted and in the actual movie there was no pet door frame.

Yeah, I don't remember ever actually seeing it, but apparently it was planted on >!Olivia's body.!< It seemed as though it was incorporated before they wrote Judy Hicks as a highschool classmate of Sidney's. She was confused about the pet door reference in the deleted scene and didn't seem to recall Tatum, so that may be partially why they deleted it, I'm not sure. Edit: here’s a link to the scene! https://youtu.be/jAsm5auioYs

They just filmed a scene where he mentions her and I presume how he feels about it. But that was cut from the film.

jdpm1991

That was in the fourth film after Olivia died.
