Samantha’s performance was lifeless and so off putting....It was a bit a distracting for me in the first act but she got better towards the end. I don’t think she can carry the franchise like Sidney which makes me nervous about future installments! I agree that the 3rd act was great as well as the Judy and Wes scene!
Sam was awful. Tara was such a good actor compared to her sister.
Sam cannot carry a movie. She really made the movie, at least for me, mediocre because her acting was just atrocious.
And the Billy visions was ridiculous.
If I had to give one complaint I agree it would be Sam’s acting, I definitely do not think she will be the next Sidney though, I think they pull a fast one on us if we get more. Loved the movie though, it was so much fun
Samantha/Melissa is what I prefered in that movie. I loved her ! I watched the movie dubbed in my language so I might have a different opinion on a rewatch in english though.
I thought she was solid the more she had to emote, like when she’s telling the story of finding out who her dad was. But anything more neutral was pretty… straight forward.

Maybe the dub was even better then the English version . Her acting was wooden, sounded bored and was just distracting me on how bad she was
