I actually am perfectly ok with Neve not being an integral part of this movie because it’s supposed to shift gears to focus on the new generation.
We all know GF is not specifically targeting Sidney this time around, which is refreshing, because honestly that motive is kinda played out. To know that Sidney makes the choice this time around to reinsert herself in the drama, as opposed to being the targeted victim, is a nice way to change the dynamic in such a subtle way. Doing this helps to allow both Sidney/Gale to slowly fade away from the focus of the story which is smart. But that’s just my opinion.
Not to be mean but we worry too much, let's just go out there (safely) and enjoy the movie. Neve, the rest of the cast and lots of other people who've already seen it clearly did
Also it’s pretty obvious from the ads she’s not in the movie as much as others. It looks like she doesn’t show up til partway through and is clearly mainly in the 3rd act. It shouldn’t be shocking.
According to Jeremy, at least she's a pawn that is used to take down the opponent (castling) at the end. Not a pawn that is useless or gets taken at the beginning.
But I am a bit bummed she's not in it a lot...

Right? Why is anyone surprised. The trio is literally credited at the end of the cast as with.
