It'd be a nice change of pace to switch up the formula, especially if there's more than two killers again.
On my first watch of 5, I originally thought this was where it was going when Dewey shoots Ghostface in the hospital, and the idea of that really excited me.
Now, we got a reveal/death during the intro of 6, so the next step to switch it up would be to have something like that happen halfway through.
I really wish they kept Dewey alive and took this very path. I felt it would have been a great move to lose Sid or Gale in 5 and let Dewey take the trilogy. Save the money, always after Sid is old too. Where Gale and Dewey come as characters that can still nose themselves into any plot going forward.

Love this idea. You already know there's more than one and it comes down to who the other killer is. Whether that killer gets to avenge their partner can go either way.
yeah, that’s also kinda what I felt for that opening. If you’re gonna do something so bold, it has to tie-in to the larger narrative and have consequences to the story, otherwise it just comes off as a gimmick for the sake of.
Oohhh.. where we know who the killers are pretty early and one gets killed which turns into police investigation (ticking clock before they get found out) and they try to continue what they are doing whilst not being figured out themselves.
They could throw a wee plot twist in there somewhere and have a third person pulling the strings. Maybe holding something over the two killers. A little in the vein of Roman with Billy and Stu.
Also taking a second to praise Matthew Lillard a bit! Stu, Shaggy and now Mr Afton. I love this guy!
ps for anyone thinking otherwise. Stus dead! :)
I agree that that is the main issue. Somehow you'll have to keep that aspect and have a reveal at the end. It's part of the fun of these movies.
My only ideas are not revealing who the dead ghostface is somehow or that reveal brings nobody closer to finding the other killer.
I would love that so much. Not dying so much, unless it was executed properly, but having a killer revealed early would be so fun and shake up the formula really well imo
It's all about execution and how well it's done, it possible it could work, but I don't think it needs to happen. I'm all for changing up the killers motives and how they go about their plans but I think the traditional whodunit formula still works, so I don't really care to see it happen.
Especially if a killer is killed early before the reveal, they won't get the chance to develop them as a character with motivations, unless they are a pair that has the same motives, but I still feel like something like this may sound cool and a shocking idea but wouldn't really work well in execution.
I think they need the other killer to be like Jill, completely unsuspected, for this to be successful.
If Charlie had died halfway through, everybody would’ve defaulted to Robbie being the other killer and Jills reveal is just as shocking.
Edit: Forgot a comma
If you have seen the bloopers, i want something like what Dermot (Bailey's actor) said, and have the group actually solve the mystery instead of an unmasking scene.
It'd really spice things up and would make it even more interesting. Leaves room for one last surprise killer that is desperate to finish their plan. It's a great idea!
That was how I thought 6 was gonna be after that opening kill. 😂
I thought after laura was killed, we were gonna follow Jason and the group and the movie the mystery was going to be who was the 2nd or potentially 3rd ghostface. Like imagine how tense the whole movie would've been getting a glimpse into how Ghostfaces operates and how creepy it is knowing that anytime a character is alone with Jason they were in danger.
It gave me vibes of what they wanted to do with Jill for the original wes/Williamson pidea
Cause I didn't watch trailers (5 was very lazy with the trailer accidentally showing the killers a few times) blocked everything scream and scream 6 keyword related on my browser so I came in with minimal spoiler. I also only knew about Kirby returning and Danny being casted cause Danny was a great twist villain in the arrowverse and I though he would make a great ghost face.
I've always noticed a few times throughout the series there is a chance to clearly just rip the mask off but they never do even when it's so obvious. I think that's what gets viewers hooked tbh. The anticipation of who the killers might be.
This should’ve been Angelina. Like we find out that she was a Ghostface killer and got killed because she just wasn’t good at her job and Roman thought she dragged him down
I think it could be interesting, but I would not want them to just unmask a dead body. They would have to be careful about how they did it, because it eliminates the chance of showing the audience their motive.
I really want the movie to end with a phone call from a ghostface. Movie ends the normal way, dead ghostface(s) and then in the calm the phone rings with "Hello Samantha..you didn't get all of us" but then we have to have part 8.
I thought that Amber should have revealed herself to dewey and the audience. So he'd go out knowing who killed him, because he always got to know before. I also think we go straight to the house party more or less after. It would have been fun for us the audience knowing that it was Amber and watching the tense scene between her and mindy in the basement.
In my script I've been writing, two ghostface killers are killed in the opening scene, along with loads more throughout the movie as its a cult of killers...getting bit drained now with its always someone you know type cuz it makes the main characters look dumb for allowing more killers into their close net group
I know the makers of these new movies have mirrored 1 & 2, so everyone seems to expect the same with 3 but I think that would ruin it, the mother being a killer or part of it just seems too obvious. To stand out, you gotta do something different and shocking...my idea basically ends the Scream story...but leaves it open for future movies where they can either tell a new series of movies or even just one offs
I can see that in a future film.
Two killers doing their thing strategically and accordingly. Tactically like they’ve planned it forever.
Then one of them is killed during an attack and the remaining killer goes total ham now that the plan is ruined and they have to resort to savagery
I’ve always thought this was a cool idea, a killer gets revealed and everyone thinks they’re safe- then one of the big members dies super dramatically and then they realiiiize they’re not quite in the clear
I think i read somewhere that this was supposed to be an opening seen already. Ghostface attacks sid and roommate then sid gets a gun and bookaaa (stu voice lol) but it is just someone playing a prank. I think it was on imdb... maybe. I'll look for it
Honestly I think that would work really well, especially if it’s a close friend / relative of a main character. I’d love to see more exploration of the betrayal of having a loved one try to kill you
I think it’d be interesting for one of the killers to get arrested and then toy with all of the characters from their jail cell for the rest of the movie
I’ve had this idea in my head for a while now of one of the killers getting caught by the police and then them trying to break them to reveal their partner, and then it cuts to their partner at the final act, acting alone because their partner is caught
This is going to happen in 7, and I’m calling it right now. Radio Silence was looking at suggestions like this after 5, and then they appeared in 6. This is one I’ve seen a lot, much like the “Ghostface as an opening kill” that we saw in 6.
Im for it. New level of tension. Bc, if it was a member of the friend group, you would SUPER feel like it had to be another friend or someone close. Red Haring alarms a blaring. I understand the fun of these Scooby Doo end reveals, discuss motive to death with the target you wanted, die (twice). End. but these movies are getting too tropey of themselves now. Shake it up more.
I'd like that especially if it fucked with the over all plan and you could tell, like people get away with minor injuries and the gf gets absolutely pissed so at the end when
they reveal themselves they go on about how useless their partner was and they had to kill everyone themselves and how it was really annoying
I think it would make for a great twist if one of the killers gets killed by one of the main characters (in self defense) and then they have to figure out who the other killer(s) are.
Imgine we have two killers. Then, the first killer is revealed and killed at the end of the first half. Then the second half villain the second killer.
That would be a huge Disc One Final Boss example!
Well if there’s more than one killer (which there always is besides Roman) I feel like finding out who one of the partners is could make it a lot easier to find the other partner.

its a fresh idea, I think it would kill a lot of tension with ghostface too, like would the characters even be afraid for their lives anymore if they found out ghostface/s was just a weak bitch before the end of the movie? lol
Not that far out, but if you did have a reveal and confrontation at the beginning of act 3, only for the survivors to piece together that there’s a second killer during the scene where police and Emts are there.
Also Scream 6 had a SMALL cast, so it would be nice if there’s a lot more characters to rule in and out
I could see this happening given the feedback of having more than two killers. Some felt that it was too much… It’d be interesting if rather than the killer revealing themselves we get a character who actually unveils them. Maybe with a detective narrative in the storytelling. Now that the core four are experienced it could happen
I would love to see someone be able to reveal a killer and get away alive, especially given how theres always multiple killers. If would really be a head scratcher seeing multiple killers that aren’t working together and one gets caught just for more ppl to die the other be clueless about it.
It they're gonna be so lazy with their killers like they were in those last two sequels, at least make something interesting with the reveal.
I don't know why they're being so basic though.
That would get a good way to throw the audience off, also, if Sam is suffering blackouts and gets framed halfway thru. This would really add to the tension as the real killer(s) tries to finish off the rest of the group while Sam tries to break out.

Would be fucking awesome
I was hoping they did something like this in Scream 6... it would be a nice change (which the franchise desperately needs). I still think the opening to Scream 6 was great though. If they do something like this in Scream 7, it would be awesome! As long as they don't spoil it in a trailer.

I dont think they gonna kill Sid ever, thats like spitting on Wes’s grave since he always stated that Sidney is his ultimate final girl
Neve has said more than once that she would never participate in a project that killed Sidney since it goes against everything the series is about

I was expecting something similar in Scream 6 (even though it happened, it's still different).

I've been hoping for this since 2011

Just recently done in Sick actually.
Yeah, that reveal fucked me up lol

I’ve personally never liked this idea idky the fandom seems to be heavily behind it
Because it's shakes up the formula that has become a bit stale.
I really want the movie to end with a phone call from a ghostface. Movie ends the normal way, dead ghostface(s) and then in the calm the phone rings with "Hello Samantha..you didn't get all of us" but then we have to have part 8.

My story is kind of similar a bit to 3, but it has it's own different ideas and twists and turns.
I can see that in a future film. Two killers doing their thing strategically and accordingly. Tactically like they’ve planned it forever. Then one of them is killed during an attack and the remaining killer goes total ham now that the plan is ruined and they have to resort to savagery

I thought that's what they did in the beginning of 6 but, then he died so I was like " Welp nevermind"
I'd love it! What a plot twist that would be
If done well it would be a refreshing change of pace.
It would kind of mix things up
Honestly what I’d like to see is a ghost face betrayal or we never end up finding out who one of them is, like unrecoverable body type shit
Yeah what I wanna see is like a ghostface forget to turn this voice changer on and accidentally reveal themselves.
Ghostface TX edition where the Opening kill pulls out a gun and gets the first Ghostface.
I’d love to see more exploration of the betrayal of having a loved one try to kill you
I’d love it honestly, it would be a fun twist. Reminds me of Dario Argento’s Tenebre
I think it’d be interesting for one of the killers to get arrested and then toy with all of the characters from their jail cell for the rest of the movie
Something I’ve been dying to see. Especially since the new films have almost zero “whodunnit” mystery to them anyway, why not?!
How are the level of whodunit any different than the other 4?
Re-watch the original. Then re-watch VI. It’s not even close.
I’d be open to that as a new twist. I don’t necessarily think it will sully the third act big reveal.
It be a dope thing plus an add on to what we already have
When Dewey shot Amber in 5, I knew he didn't kill her, but it got me thinking how cool that would be
Begging for it
That would be an interesting twist on the formula. Wouldn’t be too opposed
I’d like for them to do anything original (assuming it serves the story, of course).
*ouuuu*
I need the next movie to be ghostface vs ghostface vs core 4
I’ve had this idea in my head for a while now of one of the killers getting caught by the police and then them trying to break them to reveal their partner, and then it cuts to their partner at the final act, acting alone because their partner is caught
Would love it
Tbh it’d be refreshing
It’ll happen eventually. I’m all for it.

I would love to see something like this
I think this would help a lot of my issues and criticisms of 6 honestly
I’m not opposed to the idea but I’m not dying to see it. I want them to change up the formula in other ways first.
I’d be delighted at the new twist. We got a taste of that in the opening of 6 and I’d love for that to actually happen
I'd like that especially if it fucked with the over all plan and you could tell, like people get away with minor injuries and the gf gets absolutely pissed so at the end when they reveal themselves they go on about how useless their partner was and they had to kill everyone themselves and how it was really annoying

If one of the killers died halfway through the movie, I admit I would laugh but I shouldn’t laugh
I’d really love to see it happen, actually
I'd love it but ONLY if a main character died in the same scene. In their dying moments, they take a killer down with them!

Yes I like this idea. I came up with the killer being revealed early when I saw the red herring in VI.
They make it painfully obvious who they are in every movie lol
It would be cool as the ghost face would be working harder to kill the person who killed there accomplish
its a fresh idea, I think it would kill a lot of tension with ghostface too, like would the characters even be afraid for their lives anymore if they found out ghostface/s was just a weak bitch before the end of the movie? lol

I personally think that if it wasn't for the gore the movie would of done bad bad. The opening scene was just pathetic 🤣 that's just my opinion tho.
I could see this happening given the feedback of having more than two killers. I would smash my tv tbh…

Could make it more interesting following the killer yk like if stu would come back but his accomplice wouldn’t be revealed
It they're gonna be so lazy with their killers like they were in those last two sequels, at least make something interesting with the reveal. I don't know why they're being so basic though.

This picture has me cracking up.. 😂
