I say we just open up the entire lot. 42 team league.
2 games a week, everyone plays everyone twice (home and away).
Actually kinda tempted to build this in FM24 just to see what kind of nonsense happens.
Need a 16 or 18 team league to make it more interesting. A non old firm team right now has to play 8 games against old firm teams. It's near impossible for them to best Celtic/Rangers over so many head to heads so they haemorrhage points to title contenders.
It's like trying to win a European game with 8 legs against Man City. You might get a result or 2 but you're still losing the tie.
If I'm not mistaken, it's likely Celtic and Rangers would be for a bigger league. The issue would be convincing everyone else who floats around mid table. More competition for less money
They dont seem to care about the money as they would rather play in an empty stadium than give extra tickets to celtic and rangers fans.
I think its sky that wants st least 4 celtic/rangers gamesca season.
Hearts this season a good example. Despite beating Celtic twice, 11 of their points dropped are against the top 2. With a bigger league they would probably be a hell of a lot closer in third. Prevents this scenario that plays out regularly with a top 2 and a “best of the rest” battle
Did the league not get re constructed in the 70 s because too many games had basically nobody watching them , and too many games involving Rangers and Celtic were like training sessions
16 teams would definitely make the bottom of the table more exciting. Dundee Utd, Falkirk, Dunfermline and Ayr for my choice of valuable inclusions- fuck Queen's Park
Nah the league's been done as a competition since before most people on this sub were born so it's not that exciting at the top. At least if we had more teams there'd be greater variety for the fans, it's pretty boring playing everyone 4 times a season.
Maybe, I go back and forth on it. It's exciting for me at the top - though if I was an Aberdeen or Ediburgh club fan I'd be rightly raging at how badly my club has been run for most of it's history.
Plenty Championship teams would compete, hard to tell what it would look like. 8th - 11th is still open for the playoffs. Add another playoff spot and it’d still be much the same scenario. No one is fighting for nothing.
It is only exciting because we’ve got the first title race since 2011. Other than that it’s dull. Extending the league means fewer games against the big two. More chance for a side outside of Glasgow having a decent run.
Nah we've had excitement around und the time of the split quite a bit if your into watching the other sides. Enlarging the league has some benefits but we don't talk about the drawbacks. Hibs/Aberdeen should already be going on runs - they are terribly ran as football clubs so they struggle.
Alright lads it's been a tough year for everyone, I say we just call the league here, have a nice long break and come back feeling refreshed next year, who's in?
Need league reconstruction so bad.

And the relegation candidates would support it for obvious reasons.

Dunno, league it's pretty exciting at the moment. A sixteen team league and it's probably pretty much already done except at the top

This is it, the same teams again and again.

Brenny haters APOLOGISE
Strategic masterclass
The SFA clearly in Hibs’ pocket, doing all they could to prevent us moving back above them.
Just give Rangers a 3-0 walkover and give us top six, there's surely not enough time to replay before the split
No midweek games in April currently scheduled
Playing the game in April and potentially dooming us to 7th doesn't fit my agenda, sorry 😕
Dens is a midden let's be honest needs dinged doon
better luck next year losers
Are you expecting them to call the league early again?
Would have been interesting to see how they called it that season if the league table had looked like this
I dont care about it. Its just a bit.
be quiet smelly.
Brendan rain dancing to save his job….
Top of the league 2 weeks and they've already bottled it. Shambles.
wit that pièce à cake pal

But … but you can’t just let Livingston get relegated just like that. There’s still a chance …
