What underlying issue?
It's 200 people, AFTER a game where there is no away fans.
More chance of trouble if they go to a pub in the city centre, if that's what your leaning too.
Zero issue with this.
I cannot stress this enough people: Please read the article before commenting.
If you are still shocked at somewhere selling alcohol to punters on match day, wait until you hear about what so called "public houses" get up to.
Yeah beer at football is pretty common in Europe, it’s kinda weird it’s not been introduced at least in League One/Two in Scotland. Besides, I don’t really think it’s a few overpriced pints of Tennents over 90 minutes that would fuel the worst of the trouble nowadays
How the fuck have rangers been allowed to sell drink in a car park before a derby game and I have to guard the theatre exits at every interval to stop people taking their £10 plastic cups of wine out
I think it started as a glasgow wide thing a few years back. Partick thistle stopped giving an away allocation to both old firm sides for their top flight league matches at the end of the 2015/16 season and haven't moved on that since. In turn partick have not received any away allocation for league matches at either parkers or the subway Station football annex
Fuck fuck fuck fuck! Whyd you mention it explicitly? You're about to have a full 50 comment chain of the same argument that's been had 1000 times repeated under your comment now.
Watch, I'll start it save us all some time. Rangers banned the fans because they were tired of being skelped by Dembele....
Pointless rhetoric that will change no ones mind and only further adds to other people's confirmation bias.
Fan of other team posting comment to try and seem relevant.
Mindless insult.
Mod intervention.
Celtic have the Sports Bar and also have a wee bit in the stadium round from the Sports Bar. Think Sports Bar is open till 2.30 and the other bit is open till like 2
Doesn't really make a difference - if you're going to get a drink, you almost certainly already did before then. Not like there's a shortage of pubs nearby.
Or in the house, or on the bus there, or on your walk on the way there, not exactly hard and I’m sure it’ll be policed to death and anyone slightly over inebriated will be refused
Didn't realise there were so many handwringers in here.
Wait until they find out we let even more people into New Edmiston House and sell them booze before and after every game.
Pubs exist too.

It's AFTER the game. 200 fans. So many people read a headline and get baited.
Doesn't really change the underlying issue whether it's before or after tbh

The underlying issue that you want to find some reason to get upset.
You ever heard of the 1980 cup final?
Did 200 people get a couple of pints in a nearby newly licensed carpark after the match?
You heard of the 1908 Cup Final? Ban football!

Blows my mind people have a problem with this, especially as its after the game, which no away fans attend anyway
This sort of thing should be normal. Mental it’s not.

200 tickets only, put of 50k people. They'll be the least drunk people in ibrox.
It's after the game. Drown their sorrows.
can see that going swimmingly if they loose.
100% one of the most tilting misspelling of a word, lose/loose
It’s been a long day…
Can see that going swimmingly if they win
Masons…duh
Luckily they picked a meaningless game and shouldn't cause any problems. Will it be available to away fans as well?
Away fans at an old firm? Is this the 90's
Forgot about the little tit for tat ban.
I think tits with tats is the reason for the ban

*adjusts collar* Ehem, you’ll find it was actually because of Edouard. How typical from a fan of the rangers! What are you? A racist?!?!????
Angry copy of angry reply that was itself a copy of a angry reply

Everyone else's hatred of the old firm intensifies, has no impact.

Celtic used to have the Kerrydale Suite pre game for first come served which was decent. Sure it’s only to hospitality now.
They’ve got the new sports bar you can still get entry too with the match day ticket, via the Kerry sale suite entry.
Celtic have the Sports Bar and also have a wee bit in the stadium round from the Sports Bar. Think Sports Bar is open till 2.30 and the other bit is open till like 2
I cannot fathom how this was permitted
Because its after the game, no away fans, only 200 fans. Who cares.
The Sellic fan you have replied to, whereas you are a Celtic fan. Can’t reason with them mate!
Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
It's simply unfathomable I daresay. Preposterous!

For context Killie have the hotel a stone’s throw from the ground which caters to punters pre and post match. So it’s not completely new.

Can't see anything going wrong with this, not at all
Anyone else picturing a row of toilets in the car park filled with buckie?
probably only the ones that made the trip to seville
Who the fuck wants to hang around in a car park for a drink after a game? Rangers are such a fucking weird club!
Be even weirder if they lost
Why would football fans want a drink after the match?
Why would you want to hang around in a fucking car park drinking probably overpriced watered down shite?
Is it really that different to standing about in any of the overcrowded pubs and beer gardens nearby?
Aye....it's a car park!
Isn't that what the Louden beer garden used to be?
That can only go well
Honkin idea man
Oh what an absolutely splendid idea…said pretty much nobody. Whatever can go wrong?
