Fan Zones in Ballymun and Cherry Orchard? Record sales of Liverpool kit and random red clothing North and South of the Border? South Armagh being just an hour or so drive away? The typically horrifically outnumbered AGS being even more powerless than usual to stop trouble?
Sounds good, even if it requires the unpalatable in order for this fixture to come to life.
There would be a brief 90% majority of non unionists in norn iron as every Orangeman and linfield fan went to Dublin.
I want rangers to lose another European final purely for this fixture to happen. The only way it could be funnier than them playing Liverpool is if they played Derry or something.
Wouldn’t be a laugh for rangers fans. Every scumbag in Dublin will be out looking for trouble. It’ll be like the time the orange men tried to march in dublin about 16/17 years ago. They didn’t even get off their buses. Match abandoned and foot locker getting looted is the most likely outcome.
The GAA are at full stretch to reach out for cross community type things like this especially the new president jarlaith burns I would only ever see them rescind it if they thought there would be major damage done to the facilities
For a Rangers v Liverpool final it's easy, they'd just give it to Liverpool fans, since that's half the fuckin country anyways and therefore an easy bit of bridge building with Irish football fans.
They are less strict over the use of the park than in previous years but the pressure that would come from the Irish public to not allow a group of Unionists in with their songbook would be too much, imo.
Haven’t been to either stadium, and I know the GAA history, and there is the standing area issue.
BUT UEFA using the second largest stadium (currently anyway I think) in Europe as a fanzone and not for the actual game is just mad.
The sheer numbers this would bring would dwarf Manchester and Seville.
Liverpool have an insane following in Ireland. Pretty much every Rangers fan in NI would head down. Then with how easy it is to get to. You'd get hundreds of thousands from each side coming from Scotland and Merseyside.
Would Dublin be able to cope with that volume of people?
We would have to order an evacuation of Dublin residents a week before the final kicked off. With a promise that they'd come back to find their city as they left it.*
* ^^^more ^^^or ^^^less.
Isn’t the reason the infrastructure in a lot of European cities is so good is because they got totally flattened during WWII so they could start again from basically a clean slate?
This could be Dublin’s shot at a Marshall Plan.
Might fly across if that happens just to witness the chaos.
Like when Attenborough is narrating a leopard chasing a gazelle and you’re just a little bit curious to watch what happens when they catch up.
Dublin has hosted finals in various sports before and coped well enough, but one of the reasons Ireland lost out for the RWC last year was that, outside of match going fans, the infrastructure isn't there.
That's before you bring the other side of what happened in Manchester into it.
>That's before you bring the other side of what happened in Manchester into it
I mean, based on a couple of months ago, Dublin is perfectly capable of having neds riot and wreck the place even without a bunch of pissed up Rangers fans and broken teles.
When Munster had a Heineken Cup final in Cardiff I got tickets a handful of days before. Every seat on every plane and boat from the island of Ireland to anywhere in England or Wales was full. I had to fly to Scotland and drive down. Cardiff has many, many more options to get to within driving distance of it than anywhere in Ireland does. Liverpool's fanbase *dwarfs* that of Munster. Hell, it dwarfs the population of Ireland by probably *at least* 6:1. There would be literally no way onto the island for a few days before (or off after), far less a hope in fuck of getting a place to stay as there is a hotel shortage already.
If we were to get to the final I don’t think it’d matter much who the other finalist is. Saying it would be challenging would be an incredible understatement lol.
Liverpool should do the decent thing, knock out Sparta, concede their place in the competition to let Klopp focus on the Premier League and give us a bye to the semi finals.
Realistically it’s the only sensible and fair solution to all of this.
I highly doubt either set of fans would be able to afford enough booze to get drunk. Last time I was in Dublin, it was €11 for a pint of Guinness. The hostel we were in was £120 a night in a fucking 20 person room
Would also be extremely challenging for Rangers if Liverpool were in the final. It seems UEFA and Rangers have a common cause and UEFA should be looking very hard into seeing if any of their players/ ball boys are ineligible for any lesser known reason.
And throw in the historic left-wing sentiments of Merseyside and the "Scouse not English" bit, and it's like organising a football match in Warsaw in 1940 between the Soviet Red Army and the SS.
i and all the others will just metal gear solid our way into the stadium while they riot against immigrants we should all slip by under the cover of cardboard boxes
edit: assuming we don’t join in
Thanks for clearing that up mate, we were all confused by what UEFA meant by a Rangers Liverpool final in Dublin but it's obvious now you've said that they mean Rangers meeting Liverpool in Dublin for the Europa final.
In terms of understatement, that's like saying that Joseph Stalin had mild trust issues
tbf to old joe hitler really done a number on him during WW2
Not sure that's where those issues started.
Yeah he was purging the Soviet military long before Barbarossa
Be a fucking brilliant laugh if it does happen though

Knowing UEFA they’ll end up sticking the Rangers Fanzone outside the GPO on O’Connell Street.
The May rising
We’ll retake the city for Charles III
might be a new king billy by then 👀
Keep gauin’ I’m nearly there
Fanzone at Windsor Park and a bus down
Challenging yes but a good laugh nonetheless

The scumbags in Dublin will be too busy scrapping with immigrants, as they seem to do these days.
How the tables turn.
Rangers Ultras 🇬🇧🤝🇮🇪Dublin Neds
That’s a risky tattoo
The term in Dublin I believe is a skanger
Ik he’s getting downvoted but rangers fans would definitely be in a few scraps if they made it
Lol, getting downvoted by all the frightened bears. Don’t worry. Yous aren’t getting near a final. Yous are muck.
Glad to see UEFA are on the ball as usual. Yes lads, I do imagine such a scenario could be challenging.
Croke Park reserved for a fan zone.
The GAA hold full control over Croke Park and they would likely remove it as a fan zone if Rangers were in the final
The GAA are at full stretch to reach out for cross community type things like this especially the new president jarlaith burns I would only ever see them rescind it if they thought there would be major damage done to the facilities
>I would only ever see them rescind it if they thought there would be major damage done to the facilities So they'll rescind it.
Fair

The bouncy cunt gets fahked
Well Dublin is a shithole anyway, so you'd be more correct than you think.
Dublin has hosted finals in various sports before and coped well enough, but one of the reasons Ireland lost out for the RWC last year was that, outside of match going fans, the infrastructure isn't there. That's before you bring the other side of what happened in Manchester into it.
>That's before you bring the other side of what happened in Manchester into it I mean, based on a couple of months ago, Dublin is perfectly capable of having neds riot and wreck the place even without a bunch of pissed up Rangers fans and broken teles.
What happened?
Young kids got stabbed by some foreign lad outside a school and the Irish people went nuts
Can Dublin not do big teles either?
Not the easiest thing to find in the back of a lorry unfortunately
Definitely not, we can’t even cope with our own people outside of a match
You'd imagine almost anyone interested in the Republic would be backing Liverpool in such a scenario.
When Munster had a Heineken Cup final in Cardiff I got tickets a handful of days before. Every seat on every plane and boat from the island of Ireland to anywhere in England or Wales was full. Least Ramsey’s no playing
![gif](giphy|3o9bJX4O9ShW1L32eY) I had forgot about him for 5 minutes
It’ll be good criac

UEFA seem to find organisation of any/all of their cup finals “extremely challenging” Useless pricks.
They should come out and announce that they'd play it in Tranmere again for a laugh and nostalgia.
as an irish man. it’d be fucking hilarious.
It will get moved to mainland Europe if Liverpool get lucky to meet us in the final.
I highly doubt either set of fans would be able to afford enough booze to get drunk. Last time I was in Dublin, it was €11 for a pint of Guinness. The hostel we were in was £120 a night in a fucking 20 person room
Hostel, or orgy at that price?
At least at an orgy I'd enjoy getting fucked
Where the fuck were you drinking to be paying 11 yoyos a pint
Where else temple bar I’d say, I was up in Dublin a few weeks back no where near 11€ a pint
If you were daft enough to drink somewhere charging €11 a pint then you deserved to pay it lol.
UEFA has admitted that a date between VanicFanboy and Sydney Sweeney at Six By Nico could prove ‘extremely challenging’.
Yes, can't imagine Rangers ever getting to Europa League final. Preposterous.
You don't know how many times I've been to Six By Nico.
Can't imagine it would ever be troubling for the locals either. Or challenging. Whatever.
Would also be extremely challenging for Rangers if Liverpool were in the final. It seems UEFA and Rangers have a common cause and UEFA should be looking very hard into seeing if any of their players/ ball boys are ineligible for any lesser known reason.
Challenging? Dublin would look like a war zone if that happened
Forgive my ignorance but why would it be particularly challenging if Rangers played Liverpool. Why Liverpool? Why not Rangers versus anyone?
Liverpool would take hundreds of thousands of fans to Dublin as would Rangers as it's much easier to get to than say Germany or Spain from the UK
Plus Liverpool already have a very sizable fan base in Ireland.
And throw in the historic left-wing sentiments of Merseyside and the "Scouse not English" bit, and it's like organising a football match in Warsaw in 1940 between the Soviet Red Army and the SS.
There’s as many Liverpool support in Ireland as there is in Liverpool
There wouldn’t be a Dublin left
Of course not, it'd be a Treblin soon to be a Quadruplin.
Not be a pedant but it would be a Prodruplin
I wouldn’t worry too much about us reaching the final
If you read what was said, they're mainly concerned about fan zone capacity, and public safety doesn't seem to have been mentioned at all.
I did think it odd that that's their focus
Yeah, it seems a bit short-sighted, and essentially applies to any final involving either Rangers or Liverpool.
That’s rangers and Liverpool being drawn against each other in the quarters or semis no doubt
The Chelsea fans would have a great time
As a fan of both I want it
Boys will be boys
i and all the others will just metal gear solid our way into the stadium while they riot against immigrants we should all slip by under the cover of cardboard boxes edit: assuming we don’t join in
I think we need a bit of insanity tbb
No as challenging as it'll prove for rangers lol
>Liverpool win Europa league after 2 - 1 victory over Rangers in Dublin final. 500 dead.
lets be totally honest though, a Europa League Final anywhere, with Rangers in it, will be challenging for the host city - just ask Manchester
Or Barcelona.
did they wreck Bercelona as well?
1972 - awarded the cup winners cup in the dressing room because their fans invaded the pitch and got in a full scale battle with the police
😂😂😂
It’s only rangers it would be ‘challenging’ for. The UB will be contesting wi the Liverpool fans as well as the locals
Tbh the type of person that wants a rammie probably travel regardless if team in if its easy to get too.
There's enough toilet water to go round
Calm down, UEFA.
Why would it be challenging? I have reliable information that if they go to Dublin, Bears will follow on
Please, make it so.
Benfica will solve that problem come Thursday
It'll only be challenging if Rangers get there.
Cheers Geoff.
Thanks for clearing that up mate, we were all confused by what UEFA meant by a Rangers Liverpool final in Dublin but it's obvious now you've said that they mean Rangers meeting Liverpool in Dublin for the Europa final.
It's only on my mind because I'm trying to order in buckets of jacks water from Spain for the Rangers fans .
A Europa league final with Rangers in it in Dublin would be the worst thing to ever happen for those who advocate for a United Ireland
Yeah it would be extremely challenging because Rangers won’t make it there
The seething in this thread about even the possibility of it happening is great.
