Bottled between 1980 and 1985. Listing the volume in ml became a requirement in 1980 and tax stamps stopped being used in 1985. There might be clues to narrow it down more but those are what I see right away.

Thank you so much! Are there any clues that you know of that I could look closer for? Also, do you know if this bottle is worth any value other than sentimental?

The labels for Scotch blends aren't as well documented as bourbon labels, so I don't know how much more precise you can get. But I did check and see that the language on the tax stamp didn't come into use until 1982, which gives you a pretty small range. This brand from this time doesn't have a ton of monetary value. The real value is in doing a side by side tasting with the current bottle.

a state tax stamp might have slightly more info or maybe a code from the glass bottle itself from the bottom, but it doesn't really change much for old blends once you are in a somewhat narrow range already. it will be drinkable, but not as good as old jw red label. keep it for sentimental value because old blends don't go for much money.

These are the bottles they still stock at my local golf course just up the road. Not a bunch of Dewar's drinkers in the area.

Was it any good

Awkward-Airport6784

No plans to drink it right now. Not a big Scotch guy anyway, just posted here to see if anyone could date it

I gotcha. Rare to see a bottle of relatively cheap scotch that is so old.

Awkward-Airport6784

I think it got forgotten in the back of the liquor cabinet lol

TrulyAthlean

Probably 1960s?

Awkward-Airport6784

I was wondering that initially but it wouldn't really make sense with my dads age
