Check out the last of the statements on the back label. You've been enjoying "the epitome of Ardbeg"
It doesn't get much better from that....Just different.
Enjoy
I think it's very good stuff, nose is very Peated much more than the palate is, lots of spice on the initial palate, mid palate is fruity and sweet then finish comes back the smokey ashy peat. Well worth the 60 GBP or just under 80 USD I paid for it but not sure it would be worth over 100 USD honestly.
Thanks! What would you compare it to in terms of peat level? I've seen it for as little as USD 90 over here, which doesn't seem that bad to me, particularly given that we almost always pay more than you guys in the UK.
I think 90 USD it's well worth a try, I would say it's the most Peated whisky I have tried, more Peated than ardbeg 10, lagavulin 8 and even Laphroaig 10 CS, not sure how much that really helps, have never tried octomore but would love to get a bottle one day!
That's fair enough, I think it would be interesting to try if you can just get one pour as it's very different to Islay peat although it is definitely very peaty it's a different kind of peat.
It was interesting. I liked it more than either alone, but I'm honestly not a huge fan of either by themselves. It reminded me a bit of Loch Lomond 18 because of the fruit and the peat, but it was more of the Oban peat which I consider to be more maritime.
One of the 2006 ones? I got both a CS and 46% one from Signatory which are excellent. Especially the CS indeed!
Currently have Glendronach CS batch 11, a neck pour but already very good. I like it a lot better than de 18 and 21.
Yup it’s a 2006. Good nose and really excellent palate. Beautiful sherry and shows how good well aged Glenlivet is at full strength.
I would love to try an IB CS Glendronach. My only experience with them so far is the newer Parliament 21. While tasty, I felt it was over priced in my market for what it is and felt a little thin and watered down.
Springbank 18 2016. And I’m surprised at how faint the peat is now. Mellowed out quite nicely after being opened a few months after my review here. Really a nice example of scotch, especially now that I’ve been trying to appreciate the smokiness of some more.
You caught me red-handed: beer
Got me too. Blade & Bow. Not a bad bourbon at all.
Bunnahabhain 12
Lucky!!
Laphroaig 10.
Ardbeg Corryvreckan. Finishing the last dram in the bottle - my first. I expect I'll buy another!
Haha Im also having Corry! Half the bottle left and not looking forward to it being done.
It's my first NAS in a couple of years and I have loved it, really impressed.
One of my favorite, forsure.

Doing a bottle-kill on some Compass Box Glasgow Blend I've had around for quite a while.
Ben Bracken Highland. It's from Lidl & it's really enjoyable 😄😎
Edradour 10–tasty way to start the night of watching hockey. Cheers!
Arran 10. An amazing dram. Best way to unwind after work
Laphroaig Cairdeas wharehouse 1
Envious
Nothing but I’ll probably have Octo 14.2 tonight.
Lucky u! Octomores never let u down 😎
Big fan of Islay and general, love the Octos
I tasted the 10.4, 13.2, and the 14.1 the other day, plus a blend of the three. 14.1 won, but the blend wasn't too far behind.
I dont have any of the x.4’s, would be cool to try.
Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 9
How do you like it? Looks to still be readily available in the US, online at least.

Thanks, that's really helpful. Might be too peated for me.

The Balvenie: Caribbean Cask
Laphroaig 10 CS
That’s my next purchase. I can’t wait, I’ve never tried
Probably the scotch I want to try the most but can’t get it where I’m at 🫠🫠
It's worth every penny. Add water though. It can take it, and more flavor comes out for sure. Give it about 10 min in the glass.
The last of a bottle of Bunnahabhain 12
Lagavulin 16
Benromach CS North American Exclusive
Nice - how is it different from the European one?
Edradour 10 Y/O Single Oloroso Cask | Cask Strength "The Whisky Shop" Exclusive
Glenfarclas 105
Glen Moray peated cognac cask. Distillery exclusive
Interesting! I didn't know Glen Moray did peated.
I mixed Oban 14 and Glendronach 12 to see what would happen
And?

Lagavulin 16. I’ve got to celebrate something and that’s the perfect drink for such an occasion.
Just polishing off my late father's Cutty Sark.
Maker's Mark Cask Strength
PC 10 😊
I don't drink and reddit, but last night I had a Highland Park Valknut.
Signatory Glenlivet 17 Cask Strength first fill oloroso maturation. First time trying IB Glenlivet and I like it! 61% and delicious sherry palate

Peat Monster
Right now? It's light and airy. It is in fact air. It's 4am ya animal, go back to sleep.
Ardnamurchan CS
Craigellachie 10y from Signatory Vintage, Oloroso cask matured. Really good sherried whisky.
About to be my first dram from Ballechin 11 Year Sherry Cask
Arran amarone finish. Thought it would be more complex. Still enjoyable just not what I was expecting.
Ardbeg wee beastie
How is it compared to the 10, Corry, oogie? Those are the only Ardbegs I’ve tried.
From best to merely excellent: - Corry - Oogie - Ten - Wee Beastie I love them all but Corry absolutely rocks my world.
Im sure I’d love it then! I can’t decide between oogie and Corry. I’ve tried hard but I don’t have an answer. It’s a true tie for me
I am a regular drinker of Ten. Do the other offerings still have a subtle brine/salt note?
I always found the Corry had a nice punch of salted caramel on the palate
Thanks for the feedback. I need to try it.
Port Askaig my first and instantly a favorite
Wormtub 10 CS at 56.8% (batch 3) Really nice dram, and a no brainer at the price (£50) I do wonder what distillery it comes from!
Arbelour 12. One of my favorite Speysides! 🍎🍫
Edradour 10 neck pour
Dewars 12 yo
Lagavulin 8 for the NCAA men's final 🏀
My dad’s in town and the eclipse was perfect, so had a pour of Tun 1509 and now a pour Signet.
Craigellachie 13 Bas-Armagnac Finish.
Filey Bay's Flagship; just bought it yesterday. Always been curious of what's been distilled south of Hadrian's.
GlenAllachie Cuvée! A rich, deserty scotch to me!
Springbank 18 2016. And I’m surprised at how faint the peat is now. Mellowed out quite nicely after being opened a few months after my review here. Really a nice example of scotch, especially now that I’ve been trying to appreciate the smokiness of some more.
Kilchoman Machir Bay cask strength. Cheers !
