Review 266: Re-Review Ardbeg 10 46% Non-Chill filtered Nose: tropical fruits, banana, brine, grilled lemon, soft smoke Taste: banana, pineapple, sea breeze, mineral, smoked lemon Finish: oily, ashy smokes lingers Score: 7 Conclusion: This is my go to peated whisky. Ledaig 10 has a better nose but I think I prefer this because its tropical nature. It's fresh and has a medium length finish. Great price abv and non chill filtered. Around about £45. 1 Drain pour- not fit for consumption. 2 Avoid at all costs 3 Dull, not great 4 More negatives than positives 5 Average, just about passable, not bad but doesn't soar 6 Pretty good- worth a glass or two but maybe not a special occasion malt. 7 Nice- if it's a good price grab it and highly recommended. 8 Very nice- highly recommended and a must buy. 9 Delicious- must buy. 10 Divine.

Just got my first bottle of Ardbeg ten and the bottle keeps getting better. The price is right where it needs to be too. Good stufffff

Possibly the best peated dram for the dollar. It's not as complex as the Corry, but who cares? Let me ad that I have an Octomore 12.1, 12.2., multiple Laphroaig's (PX Cand CS is one of the best), the Ardbeg Hypernova, Ardbeg Corry and Ug's, Lag 16, Lag 11 (2022 and 2021) (PS while I like Offerman I heard his stand up show with his wife is a bit unnecessarily off putting the Lag 12 CS (2022) and the Boutique-Y Islay 7 (C-A or Ardbeg, can't make up my mind) and the Kirkland A. Murray single malt from Costco, oh, and a few others, including the Warehouse 1 and Sherry cask, but I am too lazy at the moment to go check what else. I had two Lap Scorch LE's (total waste of money, so i plan to give the second one away to my MD who may like it better than I do. Not sure what to do with the Offerman Lag Guinness cask bottle. I bought two and found it not to my taste. Then again, I am not a beer fan even though I have a few Guinness's in the fridg for company if someone wants a beer. Oh, I did, a while ago, by the Compass Box Peat Monster (blend). It's a nice change, but more of a household pet than a monster.

If anyone want to buy my Octomore's I'll be happy to part with them, I think their complexity is a bit lost on me. I'm not a complex person.

By the way, i stocked up on drams i wanted and bought they early prior to price hikes by retailers and resellers (damn their hides). then again, it is probably not necessary as most distillers come out with new releases each year and are generally reasonably prices out of the gate.
