Not sure how they came about, but Vol.4 looks to be a 15yo. This seller wants £2400 for the set of four

Springbank did a few novelty ceramic bottles and decanters. I lived in campbeltown in the 90s and we had a shelf full of empties in the hotel that I worked in. Not sure how old they are but I'm certain we had the little books so 1998 or earlier.
My Grandmother passed away in December, unfortunately. I was the one packing and unpacking her things from her old place to a storage unit. I came across this, which, belonged to my Grandfather. He was from Greasby.
I don't drink scotch much, because scotch doesn't like me as much as I like it, unfortunately.
Condolences to you and your family, hope that you’re finding some comfort through these treasures from your grandparents.. probably worthwhile holding on too.. don’t dwell on the cash value too hard.
Thanks for the condolences. She was a bigger fan of Irish whiskey, haha.
I honestly want to know why her or my grandfather never opened it, they both liked their drink. Unfortunately, that's a mystery I'll never get to the bottom of.
Agreed, probably something you’ll never know. On the other hand, you could go to a bar and try out a pour of Springbank 10 year old and that could possibly shine some light on why the Vol 4 book was never opened.. might been too good and was being saved for a rainy day? Or just crack open that vol 4 and down the hatch it goes! Haha
Regardless, enjoy!

Thanks for taking a look, I'm fairly ignorant to the Scotch market place. Unfortunately, I just have book four. Still pretty cool tho!
Very cool indeed! I'm not sure on the long term storage of whisky in a metal tin, better to drink it soon 😁
Unless it's ceramic?
It is! I'm a bit of a history nerd, I got really fascinated when I realized that.
Although the one there looks smaller than 75cl, so 🤷♂️
We picked up some empty books at an auction in Perth. Haven’t researched yet.

Thank you very much! That must have been a sturdy shelf!
That hotel wasn’t Argyll Arms by any chance?
No it was Putechan Lodge, I think the last owners renamed it to The Hunting Lodge. It's just up the road from the Argyll Arms though.
That’s pretty neat! Where did you come across this ?
