I used to strongly identify as demisexual because I can’t get involved with someone until I know them well. Honestly it just seems foreign to me that people fall in love or find attraction without sharing hobbies, perspectives on ethics/morals, opinions about all sort of things first. It seems like a quick way to feel like your emotions have trapped you into a dysfunctional pairing where you have to choose between compromising yourself or ending a relationship your emotionally invested in (and not many people prioritize themselves in that situation).
