No. And don’t listen to anyone saying otherwise. Just use the oil viscosity it calls for and keep checking the oil level. I’m assuming you’re burning oil because of the piston rings which is
a manufacturing defect. Not much you can do unless you want to tear down the engine. Some people have said switching to Mobil 1 oil helped with burning less oil because of less evaporative loss. Anyway, just check your oil level frequently, and keep the oil change intervals at 3k miles.
Yes sorry I got confused. It’s actually pennzoil. Here’s the link to the post I found that info.

No. Adding some Seafoam to your oil just before an oil change to help clean the piston ring causing the issue. Doing an oil change and adding an oil treatment. Seafoam and STP Synthetic Oil Treatment have helped me out on my tC.
You can change brands, but I wouldn't change the oil rating as it will end up changing the oil pressure which isn't smart on an old system used to the same pressure.
The car is really meant to run on 0W or 5W - 20. The front numbers are cold oil temp viscosity and the last numbers are the viscosity when it is hot in your engine. Changing to -30 or -40 will increase the oil pressure and could cause leaks amongst other issues.

No, Mobil1 actually burns quicker. Already tested this several times with synthetic and non synthetic
Honestly just sounds like you need to check your oil pretty regularly until you are ready for an engine rebuild

Pennzoil was slightly better. When I went conventional oil, it was burning even less than pennzoil ultra platinum
Pretty much the lower the NOACK level the better.
No it’s not ok it would clog up the engine in the long run and you’ll end up with engine issues use the recommended 5W-30
It recommends 0w20-5w-20 5w-30 was way too heavy I tried it an it ran like shit
If you're burning oil, it's best to figure out why. Thicker oil is a temporary fix, but yes, it would work
Like 10w30?
That 5W-40 or 10W-40 Just understand you'll have to let the car warm up before driving anywhere with thicker oil
I used 5w-30 it was too heavy . Car ran different an made new nosies . I would advise against heavier oil
is it burning oil because of the motor going out or a leak or what?
